Arrival of the Seventh-Rank General

2/14/2026

At first, Evan Yang’s divine sense could keep up, but soon enough, the Nether Patriarch vanished from sight.

"Damn it, just what kind of leaf is that? How can it make him so fast?" Evan muttered as the Nether Patriarch slipped out of his view.

Originally, Evan planned to deal with the Nether Patriarch, figure out the False Mountain’s secrets, and leave the rest for Derek to settle with them later. But things turned out differently—worried Derek might not be strong enough, and could get taken out by the cunning patriarch, Evan had no choice but to put aside his plans to leave for now.

"I’ll just wait at the Nether Family estate." Not knowing where the patriarch would go, Evan had no choice but to retreat, returning to the Nether Family’s territory. After scanning the area and not spotting the patriarch, he settled in a hidden spot, set down the Sky-Piercing Tower, and waited for the patriarch to show up.

Time inside was always faster than outside. Roughly a day passed within, but outside it was at most a quarter of an hour. Evan soon spotted the familiar figure of the Nether Patriarch.

"Let’s see where you run this time." Evan stepped out of the tower, seized the opportunity, and with a flash blocked the Nether Patriarch’s path.

The Nether Patriarch, who had originally planned to return home and wait for news, saw Evan charging over and his expression changed drastically. He quickly poured spiritual power into the leaf, then flashed aside, dodging Evan’s attack.

"If you’ve got guts, don’t run!" Evan snorted coldly.

"Only a fool would stay!" The Nether Patriarch knew he was no match for Evan and could only rely on that strange leaf to escape him.

"Then I’d like to see who else can help you now." Evan snorted, seeing that aside from the Nether Patriarch and his own people, there were no other experts around.

"Catch up to me first, then we’ll talk." The Nether Patriarch sneered.

Evan didn’t move. He knew that leaf was strange—if he made a move, the Nether Patriarch might escape. He needed to find a way to catch him.

Just then, two armored men suddenly appeared nearby.

The Nether Patriarch, upon seeing the two armored men, immediately pointed at Evan and said, "Him, it’s him."

Evan saw they were both fully armored, looking just like the one the Nether Patriarch had killed before. Something felt off.

One was at late Soul-Gathering, the other at Soul-Gathering Great Perfection. They stood there, and when they saw Evan was only mid Soul-Gathering, they didn’t take him seriously at all.

"Nether Patriarch, is he the Human World cultivator who killed an Eighth-Rank General?" asked the armored man at Soul-Gathering Great Perfection.

The Nether Patriarch nodded. "That’s right, it’s him. You tracked him here too, didn’t you?"

The two glanced at each other and nodded. They had indeed used the Nether Patriarch’s report and image tracking to locate Evan.

So they rushed over, just in time to see the Nether Patriarch and Evan facing off.
