Chapter 1153
The Dark Night Phoenix, its colossal wings spanning over a thousand meters, cast a massive shadow across the land. The remaining thirty-odd pseudo Sky Rank magical beasts no longer showed any trace of madness. Instead, each one tucked its tail and obediently retreated to the side, bowing their heads in silent anticipation, as if welcoming the arrival of a true king...
The Dark Night Phoenix flew more than a thousand meters away, then suddenly opened its beak and let out a piercing cry. Ripples visible to the naked eye spread from its mouth, wave after wave of shockwaves violently surging toward the Sky Rank Alchemical Array.
Where the soundwaves passed, everything was instantly shattered. The corpses of more than twenty pseudo Sky Rank magical beasts in front of the Sky Rank Alchemical Array crumbled like piles of sand, disintegrating into countless tiny fragments with a single hum...
And the mountain of sand, condensed and compressed like metal by the mages of Dunespire Tower, collapsed instantly into endless sand when struck by the soundwaves.
At the same time, the Dark Night Phoenix's gigantic flaming wings—each spanning over a thousand meters—flashed violently. In an instant, a fierce gale arose, accompanied by a shrill howling, as if the air within several hundred meters was being smashed forward by the Phoenix's wings.
The storm swept through, lifting the endless sand mountain into the air. In less than three seconds, all the sand was carried by the gale toward the edge of the Blazeforge Battlefield.
Seeing that even the sand produced by Endless Sand couldn't withstand it, the mages of Dunespire Tower finally felt fear. Before the sand barrier was fully gone, one by one, they disappeared into the same passage they had entered through.
With all the sand blown away, the basin was once again exposed. The Dark Night Phoenix raised its head, slowly flew to the basin where the Sky Rank Alchemical Array was located, folded its wings, and landed, directly claiming that spot as its own.
In the distance, Lin Yun watched this scene and sneered—it was entirely within his expectations. This place was near the edge of the plane, with the worst resources, mana, and environment. Normally, the Dark Night Phoenix would never linger here.
Now that it has claimed this territory, the Dark Night Phoenix likely won’t leave until the crisis is truly over.
Those idiots from Dunespire Tower—hurting others without benefiting themselves. Now that things have turned out like this, with the Sky Rank Alchemical Array seized by the Dark Night Phoenix, do they really think they can just escape?
As if things could be that easy!
Flames burned around Leon, his lungs nearly bursting with anger. Dunespire Tower had suddenly emerged from underground, then destroyed an alchemical array.
The radiant barrier vanished in an instant, nearly dooming Leon and his subordinates.
Hubert, Reina, the Alchemical Golem, and Anderson were relatively unharmed. Hubert’s skin was thick and tough—taking him down isn’t easy. Reina, being a Frost Dragon and having evolved her life form, was incredibly resilient. At worst, she’d be gravely injured, but dying would be nearly impossible.
The Alchemical Golem is built on a Sky Rank foundation, so it won’t be easily destroyed. As for Anderson, as long as anything goes wrong, he’ll just dive into the Arcane Wheel. As long as the Arcane Wheel isn’t destroyed, he’ll be fine.
But the Mage Legion—painstakingly forged by Leon—doesn’t have the kind of defense and vitality that Hubert and the others do.
The strongest mages in the Mage Legion are only Third Rank Title Archmages. Their power comes entirely from various alchemical arrays, joint chanting formations, and even specialized magical artifacts and robes crafted for them.
Only when their powers are combined do such earth-shattering changes occur. But when faced with sudden disaster, the Mage Legion’s combined arrays were forcibly shattered.
If all the mages hadn’t already advanced to Title Archmage before, that trap set by Dunespire Tower would’ve killed at least half of the fifty Mage Legion mages!
No one died, but all fifty Mage Legion mages were gravely wounded. Hubert was seriously injured, Reina was seriously injured, and the Patchwork Golem had one of its vital weapon systems destroyed—many parts were ruined, and its combat power plummeted.
Anderson was fine, but the Arcane Wheel developed a crack. Who knows how much effort it will take to repair it.
Even Leon himself, in order to block the sudden attack when the radiant barrier vanished, had his Rule Rune Shield shattered!
Once the Rule Rune Shield broke, the thousands of law sigils inside collapsed back into basic runes. Recombining them into law sigils might not even work—some runes could end up ruined for good...
And after all that, everyone fought desperately for so long, only to lose half the pseudo Sky Rank magical beasts and then suffer this blow.
The Sky Rank Alchemical Array was snatched back by the magical beasts. With all this piled together, Leon’s lungs were about to explode—his eyes were practically blazing.
The moment the radiant barrier shattered, Leon sensed the Dark Night Phoenix approaching and had no choice but to abandon the Sky Rank Alchemical Array.
Now, he was waiting at the mountain peak where the mages from Dunespire Tower had tunneled in.
Sure enough, not long after, a group of Dunespire Tower mages stumbled out of a cave on the north side of the mountain, looking utterly miserable.
Leon hovered in midair, his face cold and expressionless. A Spear of Vulcan, burning with pale golden flames, landed in front of the group of Dunespire Tower mages.
Seeing Leon floating in midair, Lord Daugtu’s expression changed slightly.
“Master Leon Merlin, there’s been a misunderstanding…”
Lord Daugtu hadn’t finished speaking when Felton suddenly screamed.
“Lord Daugtu, what’s the point of talking with him? That fool’s been fighting for so long—he must be at his limit. Look at how exhausted he is. Maybe he can barely cast spells anymore.
Damn fool, I spared your life just now and you didn’t run. You really think you can block us alone? You’re both arrogant and stupid.

You really think you alone can stand against dozens of us?
You didn’t run, so that’s perfect. Once we finish you, only Dunespire Tower will know there’s an alchemical array here that produces mana crystals.
Matthew Merlin, you brought this on yourself…
