Death of Little Fish 5

1/4/2026

Blood kept gushing out, soaking his white shirt.

Redder and redder, the stain kept spreading...

"Cousin, Eric Lan..." Lily's voice trembled as she called his name and reached out to press his wound.

But no matter how hard she pressed, the blood wouldn’t stop.

"Lily Bai, put down the plant!" Shaun Fane shouted.

Lily turned her head to look at him. He was aiming a gun at her, his face twisted with malice.

It wasn’t just him—there were plenty of guns pointed at her.

But the only one who could hit Eric Lan’s back was him.

It was Shaun Fane who pulled the trigger...

"Put it down!" Shaun Fane swung his gun toward Xavier Xiao. "I’ll count to three."

Lily bit her lip.

"One."

"Two."

Suddenly, a stabbing pain shot through her hand.

Agonizing pain.

She flinched, and Evan Lan fell to the ground.

"Good." Shaun Fane flashed a wicked grin. "Even if that plant's some kind of spirit herb, it’s not worth dying for, right?"

Lily ignored him, her eyes fixed on Evan Lan.

Honestly, whether she was holding Evan Lan or not, his life energy kept pouring out.

His branches and leaves kept withering away.

Suddenly, Lily sprang into action. The nearest special forces soldier felt his hands go empty.

The gun was in Lily's hands.

She aimed the gun at the painting and fired.

But a layer of red light shimmered over the painting—the bullets couldn’t touch it.

Suddenly, her hand went numb.

The gun dropped uncontrollably to the ground.

She looked down—there was a bloody hole in her wrist.

She reached for the gun with her other hand.

Bang!

Her other hand was shot through too.

Overwhelming pain.

Crushing helplessness.

Lily collapsed to her knees, screaming hoarsely: "Evan Lan! Aren't you supposed to be a god? Run! Disappear! Why can't you even beat a fish? It's going to drain you dry!"

But Evan Lan didn’t move at all.

The fish only got more excited, a faint red light radiating from its body, wrapping around Evan Lan and making him wither even faster.

At first, Xavier Xiao had no idea what was happening.

He didn’t know why Lily tried to snatch the painting.

He didn’t understand why she was so desperate.

But when he saw the red light on the fish and Evan Lan withering away, he finally understood: the fish in the painting was about to drain Evan Lan dry!

His son was about to be killed!

He suddenly rushed forward, just like Lily did earlier, and hugged Evan Lan tightly.

"Drain me! Take my energy! Let Little Ev go! Spare my son!" Xavier Xiao wrapped his body around Evan Lan.

But then, something strange happened.

Suddenly, something on his body began to reverse the drain.

Originally, the energy was flowing from Evan Lan to the fish.

But now, the energy was flowing back from the fish into Xavier Xiao and Evan Lan.

"What the—?! Holy crap!" The fish shrieked. "How is this possible? The Sacred Spirit Tree is supposed to be weak—how can it reverse-drain my energy? How can this old guy absorb my power? Damn it, he’s got a Dragon Scale! Help! Stop draining me! Aaahhh!"

Lily stared in astonishment at the scene.

She watched as Evan Lan gradually returned to normal—and as Xavier Xiao’s face turned redder and redder.

Xavier Xiao looked terrifying.

His whole body was flushed red.

His veins bulged.

He looked as if he might burst at any moment.

"Take the Dragon Scale off him—quick!" the fish begged Lily.

Lily frowned at it.
