The Twins' Preferences (4)

12/2/2025

Actually, Morgan Shangguan is usually no different from her normal self, but sometimes she acts spoiled, throws little tantrums, or even pretends to be pitiful. Damien Gray suspects that this is the personality of the baby in her belly!

His instincts are rarely wrong. Unable to resist, he reached out and gently touched Morgan Shangguan’s belly. Morgan, gifted with spiritual power, was never an ordinary person, and neither was he. Their child might not be viewed through the lens of ordinary people. Earlier, when Morgan suddenly snatched Quentin Hua’s jade pendant, claiming the baby liked it, he now almost believes it!

Morgan glanced down at his hand on her belly, frowning slightly. Damien Gray could sense it, so how could she feel nothing? The little one inside her was a real troublemaker, and even at such a young age could already affect her. It definitely wouldn’t be easy in the future—she could only hope someone would be able to keep the child in check!

Morgan smiled, placed her hand over Damien’s, and leaned into his arms, whispering softly, “Damien, don’t worry, our baby is just a little mischievous!”

Damien Gray frowned, "It’s not just a little mischievous. Have you ever seen a child this naughty while still in their mother’s belly?"

Morgan raised an eyebrow at him. "How do you know you weren’t mischievous in your mother’s belly?" Damien Gray was born with a demonic seed, so he couldn’t have been a well-behaved baby growing up in his mother’s womb like an ordinary child.

Morgan’s eyes flashed. Maybe it was precisely because their child was different from ordinary babies that the bond between mother and child felt so strong. That’s why Consort Bella risked her life to protect him!

Damien Gray’s frown deepened. The baby hadn’t even been born yet, and Morgan was already taking its side. Once the child arrived, would he have any say at all? This was getting serious!

Damien wrapped his arms around her, wanting to leave, but Morgan stubbornly refused. "You said we’d wait until the Cloud Guild people arrived before leaving!"

Damien Gray spoke gravely, "Let’s go back first and see what kind of demon is in your belly!"

Morgan Shangguan slapped his hand away and raised her eyebrows, saying, "Who cares what kind of demon it is, as long as it comes out looking human!"

Damien Gray could only accompany her helplessly, asking, "Don’t tell me it’s the baby who wants to watch again?"

Morgan nodded vigorously. Damien frowned and said, "You should be able to suppress it!" Even if the baby truly was different, with Morgan’s abilities, she shouldn’t be so easily influenced!

Morgan turned to look at him, raising her eyebrows, "Why suppress it? Isn’t it good for the baby to experience the world early? It’ll be smarter that way!"

Seeing Damien frown, Morgan reached out and touched his face, smiling, "Don’t worry, they won’t hurt me!"

Damien Gray sensitively caught the issue. "They?"

Morgan smiled and looked over at Noah Duanmu and Liam Duanmu, who were still negotiating. She said, "Your daughter loves excitement, and your son wants to see other people’s martial arts skills!"

Before, the other one had been so quiet she barely noticed its presence. It wasn’t until Damien Gray mentioned wanting to see what kind of demon was in her belly that the baby finally showed a hint of dissatisfaction.

Damien Gray was speechless. What kind of monster was growing in her belly? Wanting to watch martial arts—was it planning to spar right inside her womb?

Suddenly, Liam Duanmu stepped aside and sighed, "Go on, then!" He had no regrets. If given another chance, he would make the same choice, but a sense of loss lingered in his heart. He didn’t want Noah Duanmu to end up like him.

"Thank you, big brother!" Noah Duanmu grabbed Muriel Murong and left.

Morgan Shangguan patted her belly and said, "Don’t be disappointed. This time, there’s really going to be a fight! All the experts are here!"

Damien Gray looked speechlessly at her belly. He was rather annoyed—there were two little ones inside Morgan, and she could even communicate with them. It felt like she was closer to them than to him!

"Father..." Noah Duanmu and Muriel Murong were stopped again. Quentin Drake stood at the doorway with a group, glaring angrily at Noah. "Unfilial son!"

Rong Qian spoke sadly, "Noah, are you abandoning your mother too?"

"Mother..." Noah Duanmu’s grip on Muriel Murong’s hand tightened.

Muriel Murong bit her lip. She always felt like she was ruining someone’s family—it made her a bit frustrated. She glanced at Noah Duanmu, then tossed those thoughts aside. Whatever! She was an Evil Path enchantress anyway!

Muriel snorted inwardly. Noah Duanmu, if you dare regret this, you’re dead meat!

Noah never let go of her hand, avoiding Rong Qian’s gaze. His voice was hoarse, "Mother, I’m sorry..."

Morgan Shangguan smiled and said, "Assessment complete—Noah Duanmu passes!"

Damien Gray shook his head; he truly wasn’t used to Morgan Shangguan’s lively personality!

Muriel Murong had held back out of respect for Noah Duanmu, but now that she was being bullied, she certainly wouldn’t just sit and take it!

"Father..." Noah Duanmu watched Muriel and a group of people fight, startled. All of them were experts—had Quentin Drake prepared for this all along?

But was he so certain Muriel would show up? That’s it—it must have been that letter! He should have realized Quentin Drake would be watching him closely at this time. Sending a letter now was likely to be discovered!

Muriel struggled against the group of experts, but her nature was never one to admit defeat!

Morgan Shangguan’s gaze sharpened. Anyone who dared bully her—Quentin Drake must be tired of living!

Seeing the sword tip darting toward her, Muriel was surrounded and had no time to dodge. Suddenly, her waist was pulled tight and she was yanked into someone’s arms. "Rogue Noah?"

Noah Duanmu was nothing like his usual lazy self now. His face was dark, and his seductive eyes were full of coldness—no one dared meet his gaze. "If you don’t want to die, get lost!"

The experts were intimidated by his aura and froze. Even Quentin Drake was stunned, clearly never having seen Noah like this. When he snapped back, he coldly ordered, "Well, what are you waiting for? Attack!"

Liam Duanmu couldn’t help but speak, "Father, let them go!" If this continued, the consequences would be more than he could bear.
