Chapter 1059: The Offensive Begins
There are two demon overlord corpses here, along with more than a hundred lesser demon lord bodies. He’ll devour them all, but after starving so long, swallowing that much at once will exceed his ability to digest—and his strength will be diminished!
Even that high lord can’t suppress this creature’s hunger. Only after he’s finished eating will he think about killing us."
Lin Yun shouted this, but the Bone Lord didn’t react at all, utterly absorbed in devouring the lesser demon lords’ corpses.
Dida La’s eyes flickered and he retreated, while the Great Chieftain and Grand Shaman also led the Bloodfang Tribe back.
Everyone was falling back. In Diras’s eyes flashed a hint of hatred, and suddenly he roared.
"Leon Merlin, don’t think I don’t see through your schemes! You want to unleash that demon high lord—you’re already tempted by its power.
What’s this about letting the Bone Lord finish devouring? I’ve never heard of that! Don’t think I don’t know: evil demons restore their strength and heal by feeding. When the Bone Lord first appeared, he was at his weakest. Now his aura is obviously much stronger.
You’re trying to fool everyone, letting the Bone Lord recover to full power so he can slaughter us. You’ve been planning to betray us all along—I saw through your plot from the beginning!"
With that, Diras suddenly charged forward, rushing at the feasting Bone Lord. A shadow rapidly spread across the ground, morphing into a giant claw tens of meters wide that slammed down toward the Bone Lord.
Seeing this, Leon’s eyelid twitched and he instinctively backed away. Dida La also withdrew with his people, and everyone began to fall back.
The giant shadow claw struck the Bone Lord’s arm with a metallic crash. The Bone Lord’s arm jerked, dropping the lesser demon lord’s corpse it had been clutching.
In an instant, the Bone Lord’s eyes—burning with black flame—turned blood-red. Crimson fire blazed from his gaze, rising into a wave of flame over ten meters high.
In a flash, the Bone Lord’s claw plunged into the ground, shredding the encroaching shadow like a torn rag, ripping it into fragments.
Its massive eyes glared at Diras, brimming with murderous frenzy. The Bone Lord’s palm struck out with blinding speed—its huge body seemingly no hindrance—covering Diras’s position in a heartbeat.
Diras’s face went pale, only now realizing he was the only one who’d charged forward. The giant claw, over twenty meters wide, smashed down. Diras let out a terrified scream and hastily used his Shadow Cloak to meld into the shadows and escape.
Diras vanished just as the Bone Lord’s massive claw slammed into the earth, making the ground tremble violently. Thick cracks, like branching trees, spread from the impact point.
The Bone Lord lifted its claw, leaving a deep print—over five meters down—in the earth, with branching fissures radiating five or six hundred meters from it...
Over a hundred meters away, Diras leapt out from a patch of shadow. He coughed up a mouthful of blood as soon as he appeared, and his Shadow Cloak now bore a distinct tear.
Ignoring the damage to his Shadow Cloak, Diras hurriedly suppressed his aura and fluctuations, hiding himself in the shadows as he retreated at speed.
After retreating over a thousand meters and rejoining the main force, Diras’s face was deathly pale, his eyes filled with terror as he stared at the Bone Lord.
The Bone Lord’s eyes, once blazing with blood-red flame, returned to their usual state, now burning only with a layer of black fire.
No one dared disturb his feeding anymore. The Bone Lord resumed, methodically devouring the lesser demon lords’ corpses.
At this point, Diras didn’t dare accuse Leon of scheming anymore...
Dida La shot Diras a cold, dissatisfied look. Rafael frowned, wanting to say something but holding back.
On the Bloodfang Tribe’s side, all three Sky Rank warriors glared at Diras in unison.
The Great Chieftain glared with eyes the size of fists, his face fierce as he stared at Diras.
"If you get us all killed, I’ll make sure you meet your ancestors first!"
Morgan used to get along with Diras, but now the more he looked at him, the more he disliked him.
"Diras, do you think the rest of us are fools, that only you understand the Bone Lord? No matter what you’re thinking, if you drag us down with you, I’ll make sure you pay for it, you idiot!"
Diras’s face was ashen as he gritted his teeth, glaring fiercely at Leon. Seeing the crowd around him, all looking at him like he was an idiot, Diras was so furious he could hardly breathe. In the end, he just snorted and didn’t dare say another word.
Leon gave Diras a bland glance, then refocused on the distant Bone Lord as it continued to feed.
Anderson’s three faces all sneered in unison.
"That idiot’s got some nerve, provoking the Bone Lord while it’s feeding—especially a Black Iron Lord. Surviving that is pure luck."
Hubert nodded seriously.
"Anyone who interrupts that big guy’s meal and lives is lucky indeed!"
Diras was furious but didn’t dare speak. He realized he’d made a truly foolish mistake.
Damn you, Leon Merlin. Just wait—you think I don’t see your schemes? You want to use these demons to get rid of me. But now it looks like you’re after more than just me—all the people from Odin Kingdom.
If everyone here dies, Odin Kingdom will take a huge hit. Then you people from Andalusia Kingdom can turn the tables. Idiot—this time you got lucky, I’ll give you that.
Let’s see how long you can keep your secrets. Sooner or later, your demonic tail will show!
Diras stopped making a fuss, and everyone else watched intently, waiting for the Bone Lord to finish feeding.
By now, half the bodies of the lesser demon lords had been devoured. The Bone Lord’s feeding had clearly slowed, a sign he was full—yet he kept eating, not intending to stop.
The further it went, the slower the Bone Lord ate. At first, he could swallow a demon lord whole in one bite; now it took three bites to finish one.
It took a full ten minutes for the Bone Lord to finish devouring all the lesser demon lords. His once-gaunt belly now looked swollen, like that of a pregnant woman.
At that moment, Leon called out in a deep voice.
"Begin the attack!"
Dida La instantly transformed into a dragon-headed flame elemental, charging ahead and unleashing endless torrents of orange fire.
The Great Chieftain, Grand Shaman, Great Prophet, and Leon all struck together, while the rest stayed back to cast spells with all their might.
A torrent of magic surged forth like a great river, crashing toward the Bone Lord.
The flames in the Bone Lord’s eyes suddenly roared up to seven or eight meters high as his massive claw slashed at the magical torrent.
With a crackling roar, the torrent of magic was torn apart into several segments. The fragments slammed into the Bone Lord’s body, but left only faint marks—his skin wasn’t even broken.
Lesser spells were now useless against the Bone Lord. His skin, covered in intricate magical runes, could withstand these weak spells with ease—his resistance far exceeded that of the previous violet-eyed demon lord.
As the battle began, people noticed that although the Bone Lord had regained strength from feeding, his speed was much lower—at least half what it was before—and his power had weakened somewhat.
A hungry wolf is always the most dangerous and savage!
A wolf stuffed full, facing a starving, wild-eyed wolf, will always end up torn to pieces.
Though the Bone Lord’s combat power was greatly reduced, the fight still started off completely one-sided.
Dida La’s sea of elemental fire and the torrent of spells were ripped apart by the Bone Lord, whose massive claw grazed Dida La’s body. Ten-meter-long razor claws shredded through Dida La’s triple shields, nearly piercing him through.
The Great Chieftain’s massive tusked sword struck the Bone Lord, producing only a ringing clash of metal. It barely cut through a layer of skin—nowhere near enough to truly injure him.
Even the Grand Shaman’s lightning seemed like mischievous thunder snakes dancing across the Bone Lord’s skin, causing no significant harm.
Leon transformed into a wind-fire elemental form. The combined power of wind and fire produced a fierce flame, boosting the elemental fire’s strength by a whole tier. The dark red elemental flames raged like berserk fire elementals, far stronger than Dida La’s orange fire.
A tornado of flame crashed into the Bone Lord, and its wild power barely damaged his skin.
The magical torrent had mostly lost its effectiveness; at least, these lesser spells did little against a creature as naturally powerful as the Bone Lord.
Even with four Sky Rank warriors attacking, they barely hurt him—instead, they only enraged the Bone Lord.
The Bone Lord’s joints sprouted bone spikes, and the smoky black flames around them suddenly swelled.
Tendrils of black flame slowly spread over the Bone Lord’s limbs and joints, radiating an aura of evil and destruction.
The Bone Lord roared and struck out with a claw shrouded in black flame. The incoming spells seemed to ignite and rapidly dissipate.
Claws slashed at Dida La, and the orange elemental flames around him were instantly set ablaze. A sea of orange fire was swiftly dyed black.
Dida La’s expression changed dramatically as he retreated, but the black flames seemed to latch onto his aura, relentlessly pursuing him.
