"Yina isn't some weakling pretty boy," Mason Kerr whispered. "We've never managed to beat her at anything since we were kids."
Lucas Mu immediately stopped worrying.
That's true.
He almost forgot—Yina isn't just any ordinary girl.
She’s from Class 2, Class 3, Class 18—she could take down an entire soccer team by herself.
So, the two of them decisively stopped worrying and focused on their own grafting project.
Meanwhile, Yina Yin had no idea Mason Kerr and Lucas Mu were gossiping about her; she just kept her head down, doing her own thing.
With a gardener guiding her, Yina Yin followed each step as taught—calm and focused, truly immersed in the task.
But next to her, Miles Gu seemed a bit distracted.
Every now and then, he’d sneak a glance at Yina Yin.
Yina Yin knew, but pretended not to, just quietly doing her own thing.
"Don't be mad about what happened at lunch today," Miles Gu tried to start a conversation again. "Elisa..."
"I know," Yina Yin replied coolly. "I don't care about people who have nothing to do with me. Whether she's good or bad, it doesn't concern me. I’m only spending a few days with her, and we won’t cross paths in the future. The person who’ll be with her for life is you—as long as you like her, no one else has the right to comment."
Miles Gu was left speechless by Yina Yin yet again.
Yina Yin finished her grafting, had the gardener check and comment, then calmly turned to change out of her work clothes.
"Yina, wait for us!" Mason Kerr and Lucas Mu rushed after her when they saw Yina Yin leaving.
When facing Miles Gu, Yina Yin’s expression was blank.
But when she was with Lucas Mu and Mason Kerr, she was all smiles—warm and cheerful.
"So? Was today tough?" Yina Yin asked Mason Kerr.
"Not really," Mason Kerr shook his head, his voice quiet and reserved. "Yina, how about we start practicing the transplant on that Clivia Gift tomorrow?"
"Sure," Yina Yin nodded. "I was thinking the same. Lucas, do you still have enough of that solution?"
"Plenty! My dad gave me a huge bottle when I came, it'll last ages," Lucas Mu said proudly, patting his chest. "My dad's mix is foolproof. Even if we mess up all these flowers, we can still save them."
"Alright, let your godfather know and get another bottle! This greenhouse is massive—we’ll definitely cause some chaos. We can’t let Cherry find out we trashed so many of her precious plants." Yina Yin instantly perked up, laughing and chatting with Lucas Mu.
"We absolutely can’t let Cherry know! She built this greenhouse herself," Lucas Mu stuck out his tongue. "Good thing Ethan stopped her—otherwise, if she saw us wrecking her cherry tree, she’d make us farm for a month!"
"No way, no way, Sean King’s the one for farming," Mason Kerr said.
Then the three of them exchanged glances and burst out laughing together.
The atmosphere couldn’t be warmer or more harmonious.
Miles Gu, purposely left behind, watched Yina Yin, Lucas Mu, and Mason Kerr chatting and laughing, feeling a pang of jealousy.
He kept thinking he should be just like them.
So, where did it all go wrong?
Ken Yun and Sharon Yun’s arrival was met with a warm welcome from everyone in the villa.
Well, what everyone really welcomed were the gifts Ken and Sharon brought.
"Wow, this year's osmanthus tea is delicious!" Yuzhen Yin was the first to try the new batch, beaming like a puppy. "Grandma Yun’s skills are unbeatable! But there’s so little—there are so many of us, it’ll be gone in no time!"
After that, Yuzhen Yin said mysteriously, "Anyway, Miles Gu isn’t the same Miles Gu as before. Can I have his share?"
Yuzhen Yin’s comment immediately drew protests from Leo and Theo Mo: "No way, everyone splits it evenly!"
"Fine, even split, but I should get a little extra," Yuzhen Yin shamelessly insisted. "I helped carry the stuff!"
"Come on, Yuzhen, you’re shameless! You only moved your mouth—the workers did all the lifting!" Leo and Theo Mo scoffed. "It has to be split evenly!"
While the three were arguing about the split, Yina Yin and Miles Gu returned with the group.
Miles Gu happened to overhear these remarks.
Miles Gu’s face was calm, but inside he was a mess of emotions.
The group bickered and teased, but their bond was real.
Only true friends can be so uninhibited.
Miles Gu admitted—he was jealous.
"What are you all arguing about?" Yina Yin asked.
"Ahh, Brother Nina, you’re back! We were talking about the stuff Grandma sent this year. We want to split up Gu—mmph!" Yuzhen Yin’s words were cut off as Leo Mo clamped a hand over his mouth.
Theo Mo quickly chimed in, "We’re just figuring out how to split the gifts. Yuzhen says he helped with the moving, so he wants more, but we’re totally against it."
It’s so awkward to divvy up his stuff right in front of him!
"Brother Nina." Ken Yun and Sharon Yun came down the stairs together, having just reported the Yun family’s situation to Charles Yin and Cecilia Grant.
"Ken, Sharon, you’re here." Yina Yin’s smile brightened at the sight of the twins. "Thanks for bringing everything over again."
"Of course." Sharon Yun’s expression softened as she nodded, then turned to look at Miles Gu.
