"Hey! Wait up!" Suddenly, as Ryan dragged her along, the woman cried out, "My foot hurts—ow, ow...!"
"Ugh, what a pain!" Ryan muttered, exasperated. But there was no helping it—he scooped the woman up and strode off. At that moment, they were literally skin-to-skin; Ryan's hand just happened to land right on her chest. Yet instead of protesting, the woman actually seemed to enjoy it, gazing at Ryan with a smile like she suddenly found him way more attractive than before!
Ryan and the woman had only just entered the Earth Tier of the War Tomb, so getting out shouldn't have been too hard!
But right then, everything suddenly changed!
The Earth-Tier gate that had been wide open suddenly slammed shut with a thunderous boom! Instantly, the atmosphere grew tense—not just filled with Primordial Immortal qi, but also, to their shock, the terrifying power of an Ancestor Immortal!
Crap!" Ryan's heart sank. The one thing he dreaded most was happening right now—if an Ancestor Immortal corpse showed up, there was no way he could stop it!
"We—we've disturbed an Ancestor Immortal! We're totally doomed!" The woman felt the danger spike and couldn't help but scream.
"Damn it, can you shut up for once?" Ryan snapped. Sure, the Ancestor Immortal's aura was all around them, but it wasn't at full strength yet—meaning the corpse hadn't pinpointed their exact location. But now, thanks to her yelling, it had a perfect target. Ryan could feel that terrifying Ancestor Immortal power zeroing in on them!
Now we're really screwed!' Ryan groaned inside. If only he hadn't wasted so much time messing around with this woman... But it was too late for regrets. Right now, all that mattered was figuring out how to escape.
Meanwhile, the Primordial Immortal corpse-fiends around them started going wild, blocking every possible escape route. Clearly, they weren't about to let Ryan and the woman get away. Even if Ryan threw everything he had at it, there was no way he could blast open the passage between the Earth Tier and Mystic Tier of the War Tomb!
"Hurry up, hurry up—I don't want to die here! I still want to be Elysium Sect's top Senior Sister, my future's so bright—I really don't want to die here!" The woman screamed, clearly on the verge of a total breakdown.
Ryan was speechless. There was no way they could escape in time now. All they could do was activate every defensive power they had and try to withstand an Ancestor Immortal strike. Sure, the Ancestor was insanely strong, but if they just focused on defense, maybe they had a shot. After all, Ryan had his own defenses—and that ancient Primeval Heavenwood he'd been saving this whole time, maybe for this exact moment.
Stop screaming and get all your defenses up—it's our only shot at getting out of here!" Ryan barked, glancing at the woman. She might've been injured, but she was still strong. Two people working together were way better than one!
Hearing Ryan, the woman didn't hesitate. At this do-or-die moment, she unleashed all her power. Instantly, their two auras fused into one, wrapping both of them in a protective shell. As Ryan activated his strength, he drove them straight underground, adding another layer of defense!
Just as they finished, an overwhelming force crashed down from above. With a deafening boom, everything around them was obliterated—even peak Primordial Immortal tombs were blown to smithereens in an instant. The scene was so intense, it was almost unbelievable!
The power of an Ancestor Immortal was absolutely overwhelming—even if the corpse had been dead for centuries. As that force descended, all the Primordial Immortal qi nearby instinctively scattered; when Primordial Immortals run into an Ancestor, all they can do is kneel!
With this crisis erupting, the tomb-raiders still stuck in the Mystic Tier turned pale with fear. That Ancestor Immortal power was so intense, they could feel it even through the thick tomb gate!
"This is bad—Mr. Ling's in trouble! He must've pissed off an Ancestor Immortal!"
We're screwed now—the Ancestor Immortal's power is insane. Even if Ryan's reached a crazy level himself, there's no way he can take on an Ancestor!
Should we rush in and save him? If we don't go now, we might not get another chance!
...
Enough, all of you—calm down, would you?' Victor Mao finally shouted. He was worried sick, but with things as bad as they were, all they could do was wait. With their current strength, charging into the Earth Tier now would be suicide!

Meanwhile, inside the Earth Tier, Ryan and the woman almost instantly lost consciousness. It felt like they'd been cut off from the Immortal World itself. Who knows how much time passed before Ryan finally woke up from some strange, dreamlike realm? His whole body felt completely wrecked—not just pain, but a total sense of defeat.
That Ancestor Immortal's attack was insane! Ryan was still shaken—good thing he'd just pushed his cultivation to Da Luo Golden Immortal peak. If he hadn't, his body would've been pulverized for sure. The woman beside him was unharmed too, mostly thanks to his protection.
I'm—I'm not dead!' The woman snapped out of her daze and, realizing she was still alive, let out a thrilled cry.
Shh! Quiet!' Ryan clamped a hand over her mouth. They might both be alive, but who knew what was happening outside? One thing was certain—the Ancestor Immortal wasn't done yet!
Got it!' The woman nodded vigorously. At this point, she'd do whatever Ryan said to survive!
Ryan immediately sent his consciousness outward, trying to get a sense of their surroundings and figure out his next move.
But the moment his mind reached the surface, a crushing force slammed down, and a voice rang in his ear: "Not bad, kid—you actually held out. But let's see if you can handle my second strike!"
As soon as the voice finished, another wave of power surged toward Ryan—far stronger than before, with enough force to destroy the world. If he got hit by this, he'd be dead for sure!
The woman was terrified—without hesitation, she threw her arms around Ryan, pressing herself against him...
