The Foolish Woman

12/2/2025

In the end, Quentin Hua exercised remarkable self-control and gently pushed her away. If this continued, he couldn't guarantee he'd remember it was her first time and not go too far.

News of the Lotus Sect Master's upcoming marriage quickly spread throughout the martial world. Everyone was curious about what kind of woman could capture the heart of a man renowned for his flirtations.

The Lotus Sect was bustling with activity. When the Sect Master marries, it must be a grand affair.

The first to arrive was Ethan Gray. He came the day after receiving the invitation, his face cold. Upon seeing Quentin Hua and Roxy Shangguan, his first words were, "You can't meet before the wedding. For the next half month, Roxy will stay in my courtyard!" He shot Quentin a warning look, making it clear that if he didn't comply, he wouldn't let Roxy marry him.

Half a month? Quentin Hua wanted to cry but had no tears. If he'd known, he wouldn't have sent the invitation so early—he should've waited until the last day!

Did he really think, with the power of the Ghost Sect, that not sending an invitation would keep things secret? Who in the martial world didn't know he was getting married now?

Roxy Shangguan comfortingly patted his shoulder. "Quentin, half a month will pass quickly!" In truth, she knew Ethan Gray wouldn't really keep them apart. He wasn't truly dissatisfied with his future brother-in-law; otherwise, how could he trust Roxy to follow Quentin?

Naturally, everyone gave face to the Lotus Sect Master. Those invited arrived early, one after another, while Quentin Hua, the groom-to-be, could only live a life of sneaking around. Just as Roxy had expected, Ethan Gray didn't watch them closely. He simply forbade Quentin from disturbing him, but if Roxy wanted to sneak out, he didn't interfere.

So, in summary, as long as they didn't act lovey-dovey in front of Ethan Gray, it was fine. Quentin Hua couldn't help but suspect that Ethan was simply jealous!

One day, Roxy Shangguan climbed into Ethan Gray's arms to act cute, pleading for her dear Quentin. This sneaky arrangement was fun at first, but after a while, it became inconvenient!

Ethan Gray sat calmly in the pavilion, letting Roxy Shangguan chatter away. In the end, he simply said, "I trust Quentin Hua." Over the years, he knew exactly how Quentin treated Roxy and was satisfied—otherwise, why would he accept him as his brother-in-law?

Roxy's eyes lit up. "Brother, does this mean you won't make things difficult for Quentin?"

Ethan Gray's expression softened a little, his brow raised. "Have I made things difficult for him?"

Roxy quickly shook her head. "No, not at all!" Could she dare say otherwise? Her elder brother was no ordinary person—she could bully others as she pleased, but if she tried that with him, she might be the one to suffer!

Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed. Roxy looked at the group approaching, a bit confused. "What happened?"

Ethan frowned. Suddenly, Roxy spotted someone in the crowd, her gaze turning cold. That woman was still in the Lotus Sect!

"Oh... isn't this the future Sect Master's wife? What are you doing here?" The moment she spoke, Roxy's gaze grew even colder. By now, she fully understood the woman's intentions.

Facing her icy stare, the woman snorted and lifted her chin, her eyes filled with provocation.

She came to the Lotus Sect for one reason: to sabotage Quentin Hua and Roxy Shangguan's relationship. She had no real feelings for Roxy—she was just the target of her mission. Nor did she truly admire Quentin Hua, but after seeing Ethan Gray a few days ago, her heart couldn't help but flutter.

But aside from Roxy Shangguan, Ethan Gray was cold to everyone. He even let Roxy live with him. How could she not be jealous?

Her gaze drifted to Ethan Gray: those elegant sword-like brows, straight nose, sensual lips, and strikingly handsome face exuded nobility and dominance. His cold, dark eyes were impossible to look at directly, as if their chill could freeze you, yet she couldn't bear to miss the magical allure of those beautiful eyes. Looking at him, her heart raced uncontrollably.

Turning to Roxy Shangguan, her face was full of jealousy. Even though she was about to get married, she was still seducing her man! She would make sure Roxy understood what regret truly meant!

With so many people watching her embrace another man, surely her reputation would be ruined. Quentin Hua would never want her again!

In this way, she would have completed her mission!

Roxy looked at Ethan Gray, her eyes tinged with grievance. She knew this woman never had good intentions, but now it was obvious she saw Roxy as a rival in love! How unfair was that?

Quentin Hua glared at Ethan Gray, his face dark, but said nothing. He endured it! Once he and Roxy completed the wedding rites, he'd send everyone away at once!

Seeing Quentin's unpleasant expression, Irene Yi's lips curled into a faint smile. Although subtle, Ying Yue noticed it. Could Irene be involved in this? Hopefully not—otherwise, no one could save her. The Sect Master wasn't one to show mercy, and neither would Roxy.

But looking at that arrogant woman, she couldn't fool herself. If not for Irene Yi, how could this woman still be lingering on the mountain?

Ethan Gray swept a cold glance at the martial artists who had followed. "Is there something you need?" he asked icily.

The moment they saw Ethan Gray, the crowd groaned inwardly. They really shouldn't have let their curiosity get the better of them—coming to watch the drama was practically courting death!

These people all had some standing in the martial world and were no fools. They quickly realized they'd been used as pawns, and the mastermind was, of course, that woman!

In an instant, all those burning gazes landed on the woman, wishing they could incinerate her. She was clearly pushing them onto a path of ruin!

The woman was a bit confused, but it wasn't her fault—Ethan Gray was too low-key and rarely appeared in public. This time, he'd only brought Ling Yi. The woman didn't know his identity, so naturally, she didn't understand why everyone was so angry!
