Foolish Woman

12/2/2025

Finally, someone spoke up nervously, "We did not know that Lord Dark was present. We have disturbed Lord Dark, and we deserve punishment! But we, too, were deceived by others. We hope Lord Dark will be magnanimous and not hold this against us!"

Right now, everyone just wished they could disappear. After all, Lord Dark was no easier to deal with than the Ghostmaster—perhaps even more terrifying and unpredictable!

As soon as he finished speaking, voices of agreement echoed one after another, each afraid that a moment’s delay would anger Ethan Gray.

Roxy Shangguan sighed. Clearly, they came from the same womb—so why was her brother so intimidating?

Once she realized Ethan Gray was Lord Dark, that woman’s eyes filled with fear—and excitement. Roxy Shangguan crawled out from Ethan Gray’s arms, looked at her with a mocking smile, and snorted, "Brainless woman! Do you really think you could offend me and still become my sister-in-law?"

"What?" The woman’s expression shifted—sister-in-law? So this woman was his sister? And now she’d set up his own sibling!

Her gaze fell on Ethan Gray’s icy face, and she hurriedly explained, "I... I didn’t know she was your sister..."

Irene Yi didn’t look pleased, either. She knew Quentin Hua and the Ghostmaster had a connection, so it wasn’t strange for Ethan Gray, the new sect master, to attend his wedding. But because Roxy Shangguan’s identity had always been a mystery, she hadn’t realized Ethan Gray was Roxy’s brother.

She’d thought that woman had succeeded, but who could have predicted things would turn out like this!

Irene Yi was clever enough—not forcing that woman to leave the mountain, but never participating in her schemes. She knew Quentin Hua’s temperament, so she’d planned to use that woman; this way, even if the woman did something, Irene would at most be punished for negligence. After all, with the entire Lotus Sect busy preparing for the wedding, even forgetting something wouldn’t be a huge mistake!

Luna Ying watched her shifting expression and sighed inwardly. Did she really think the Sect Master wouldn't notice? The Sect Master was far too clever for that. He had given a strict order to drive that woman out, and Irene Yi made excuses about forgetting—did she think he would believe that?

Ah... How could Irene Yi become so muddle-headed? The word 'love' truly is a dangerous thing.

Seeing that Roxy Shangguan was no longer nestled in Ethan Gray's arms, Quentin Hua's face finally looked a little better. But the expressions of everyone else were rather grim. If Lotus Sect and Ghost Guild joined by marriage, wouldn't the martial world become theirs? Luckily, they didn't know that Roxy Shangguan was actually the Cloud Guild's leader—otherwise, they'd be scared out of their wits.

Ethan Gray frowned, a trace of impatience in his voice as he called coldly, "Lynn Yee..."

No one knew where Lynn Yee suddenly appeared from. His androgynous face was no less striking than Quentin Hua's, a smile at his lips and his enchanting eyes sweeping lightly over everyone present, waiting for Ethan Gray's command. He knew that woman was doomed—how dare she lay hands on the Sect Master's precious little sister? Was she courting death?

Everyone who met his gaze broke out in cold sweat and lowered their heads. After all, this Ghost Guild envoy was known as the Soul Collector—he could take lives and souls with a laugh, the Ghostmaster's own lethal blade!

Ethan Gray said coldly, "Take her back to the Ghost Guild and treat her well. We'll deal with her after the wedding!"

"Yes!" Lynn Yee darted forward, seized the woman, and swept out, not giving her a chance to beg for mercy.

Treat her well? Was that just a euphemism for torment? The wedding was still days away—would that woman survive until then? Even without witnessing the Ghostmaster's methods firsthand, the rumors alone were enough to chill anyone to the bone.

The wedding guests included not only those from the Evil Path but also the Righteous Path. Over the years, the clear divide between good and evil had faded. Though the two sides still looked down on each other, they no longer attacked on sight, but friendly relations were still impossible.

With the boundaries between good and evil now blurred, there were no clear factions anymore. Each sect acted independently, free to choose their own allies.

Now, facing Ethan Gray, a group of martial artists kept their heads down, wishing they could disappear into the ground. No one dared make a sound, afraid that a single misstep would see them "well treated" by the Ghost Guild as well.

Quentin Hua recalled how Wendy Hua and Du Qiyue couldn't endure a single night, and his lips twitched. Truly worthy of being Damien Gray's son! Still, he felt no sympathy for that woman—even if Ethan Gray didn't act, he wouldn't have let her off easily. As for her accomplice...

A cold light flashed in Quentin Hua's eyes. He personally dragged Irene Yi out, struck her acupoint, and tossed her before Roxy Shangguan. In a gentle voice, he said, "Roxy, the wedding is still days away. If you get bored, let her keep you company!"

Luna Ying's heart trembled. She hurried over and knelt before Quentin Hua. "Sect Master..."

Quentin Hua looked at her coldly, lips curled. "You feel bored too?"

Luna Ying shuddered, quickly shook her head, and dared not plead further. If she admitted to boredom, the Sect Master might let Irene Yi "play" with her too. After so many years as sisters, she could never bring herself to do that!

Only now did Irene Yi come to her senses. She looked at Quentin Hua, her voice mournful. "Sect Master, I've always been loyal—you can't treat me this way!"

Quentin Hua smiled, devilishly handsome and gentle in tone. "Of course I know you're loyal. Otherwise, I wouldn't trust you to keep Roxy company!"

Irene Yi wasn't a fool—she knew Quentin Hua didn't really mean for her to keep Roxy company. Seeing his indifferent expression, her heart twisted in pain. So, she meant nothing to him after all! Gritting her teeth, she protested, "I did nothing wrong. You can't be so heartless!"

Quentin Hua raised an eyebrow, a hint of doubt in his eyes and coldness at his lips. "I haven't hit you or scolded you—how am I heartless? Besides, as Sect Master, shouldn't my loyal subordinate obey my orders completely?"
