Dust Settles

As soon as Evan Chu finished speaking, Sean Xiao unleashed his spatial domain. The massive underground cavern—spanning tens of thousands of square meters—was instantly engulfed by a terrifying aura. The Fourth-Layer Venerable Martial spatial domain revealed its overwhelming power here, suffocating everything within.

Sean Xiao deliberately left a gap in his domain near himself so the coalition sect members could escape quickly. But the dark organization’s survivors felt as if ten thousand jin of pressure had slammed down on their bodies—they were utterly immobilized, let alone able to self-detonate.

Once the Human cultivators had all left, only Evan Chu and Sean Xiao remained in the cavern. Despair swept through the traitors; facing death, anyone would be afraid—especially when that death came with no hope of resistance. True terror took root in their hearts.

Bloodbane Demon General, the old man, trembled uncontrollably. He had never seen such a terrifying spatial domain before. After years of cultivation under Demon Lord Solus, he’d broken through to Seventh-Layer Saint Martial and believed himself a top expert of the Azure Ruins. But now, before Evan Chu and Sean Xiao, he realized he was nothing but an insignificant ant.

At this moment, his fate was no longer in his own hands—not even death was his to choose. For the first time, the bitterness of helplessness and despair made him truly understand what fear meant.

Evan Chu laughed coldly. “Didn’t you want to self-destruct? Didn’t you threaten to drag everyone down with you? Go ahead—show me! The Demon Clan is cursed to have traitors like you. Today, I’ll help the Demon Lord clean house and wipe you out, so you understand the fate of those who followed Demon Lord Solus.”

Under Sean Xiao’s spatial domain, even speaking was impossible. The Bloodbane Demon General and his subordinates showed their panic on their faces, which Evan Chu found satisfying. “Wipe them all out. Leaving them alive will only bring disaster to more innocents. And destroy this cavern too—so no one can use it for evil again,” Evan commanded Sean Xiao decisively.

“You’re worried about dealing with these ants? Why not stay and watch?” Sean Xiao replied, his tone casual and full of confidence.

“Not interested. There’s nothing worth seeing in your crude domain. I’m going to check on Sel—she’s been hit hard by all this and needs my care.” With that, Evan Chu vanished from the cavern in a flash.

Moments later, rumbling explosions echoed from behind. Evan Chu grinned. “I told you to destroy a cave, and you managed to obliterate the whole mountain. You really do have a talent for overkill.”

Soon, Sean Xiao’s voice rang out from behind. “I just struck lightly with my palm—who knew it’d be so powerful? So the mountain’s gone. No big deal.”

Before long, everyone returned to Frostbane Sect. The other sect masters didn’t leave; they sent their disciples back to their own sects but personally stayed. Evan Chu sat at the highest seat in the main hall, looking at the crowd. “I know many of you have doubts about Selena’s unique identity. Yes, she is a Demon-Clan princess, but that doesn’t mean she’s evil. It’s true, many demons have harmed humans and left families shattered.

Some methods are indeed cruel—eating human flesh and drinking blood—but that’s just a small minority. At heart, most Demon-Clan people are no different from us Humans. I’m not defending Selena just because she’s my woman; I’m simply stating the facts.

Furthermore, today I make this official declaration: from this moment on, the Demon Clan and Humans will establish equal and friendly relations. Humans must not slaughter demons at will, and demons must not slaughter Humans at will. Anyone caught violating this will be killed without mercy!

The crowd was stunned—no one expected Evan Chu to make such a sweeping decision. A Frostbane Sect Protector spoke up: “Sect Master, you’re the strongest among Humans and can speak for us, but the Demon Clan might not agree. Besides, Madam Selena has lived among Humans for years; her princess status may not mean much in the Demonic Realm. Truly erasing the hatred between our races won’t be easy.”

The Protector voiced everyone’s concerns; all eyes turned to Evan Chu. “I understand what you mean. If I dare make this declaration, I have my reasons. Honestly, even if Selena’s identity hadn’t been revealed today, I would have gone to the Demonic Realm. Now that we’ve wiped out the dark organization, I believe the Azure Ruins will remain stable for centuries, maybe even millennia.”

Destroying the dark organization was the happiest news for everyone. If Evan Chu can truly resolve Human–Demon relations, all the sects will become far stronger in decades to come. The sect masters looked at Evan Chu with newfound awe.

Then Evan Chu continued, “My battle with Demon Lord Solus was a close call—I only managed to kill him thanks to luck. Now, I’ve fully opened the entrance to the Godfall Battleground. From now on, your sects can expand into that vast, resource-rich realm.

Frostbane Sect will certainly claim its own territory there. To celebrate the destruction of the dark organization and the opening of the Godfall Battleground, I’ll reset the wedding banquet that was interrupted before—I still haven’t had the chance to drink your toasting wine.”

Once again, Evan Chu’s words shocked the crowd. The Godfall Battleground had been the most mysterious place for ten thousand years, accessible only through rare Teleportation Gates, most of which were destroyed after the last great war. Now, direct entry without gates was an unimaginable boon. Just thinking about developing their sects in that divine battlefield left everyone awestruck.

The banquet lasted deep into the night. After the guests departed, Evan Chu went to Selena’s room. She’d left early, weighed down by the day’s revelations. Seeing Evan enter, she forced a faint smile. “Evan, thank you! If you can truly resolve the conflict between Humans and the Demon Clan, then even if Sel must die, I would be willing. This has always been the deepest wish of our people.”

“Don’t say such foolish things. You’re my woman, Selena. Everything you’ve done since we met—I’ve seen it all. Stop tormenting yourself. In a few days, I’ll go with you to the Demonic Realm, just as I promised. You’ll reunite with your father, the true Demon Lord.”

Selena nodded softly, her eyes gentle. Evan Chu smiled, pulling her into his arms. That night, their passion burned fiercely, the echoes of their love carrying far into the night…
