Noisy

"That's right. Knowing someone like Serena Tong is one thing—it's only natural. But being known by Serena Tong? Now that's next to impossible."

"You say you know Serena Tong, but that's basically the same as saying nothing at all."

The people nearby listened to Victor Wu and nodded along, one after another.

The way they looked at Evan Lin was full of disdain and contempt.

Up to now, they had just thought Evan Lin was a teenager trying to get Yara Song's attention.

Everyone loves beauty—it's human nature, so nobody really minded.

But now, even after his tricks and motives were exposed, he still refused to admit it. That made everyone present even more annoyed with Evan Lin, thinking he was a bit clueless about his own limits.

"Seriously, just give it up. Guys like you, daydreaming like this, there are at least hundreds of thousands across China. Save yourself the trouble."

Victor Wu didn't bother hiding his dislike for Evan Lin anymore.

After speaking, Victor Wu turned to Yara Song beside him: "Yara, if someone like this tries to talk to you again, just ignore him if you can."

"These days, there are all kinds of people out there. Who knows what kind of schemes they're hiding inside?"

"And let me tell you, guys like him—once they get a foot in the door, they'll stick to you like glue. Just ignore him, and don't let his words get to you."

"He says he only knows Serena Tong and hasn't heard of you—he's just saying that to rile you up. As soon as you get mad, you'll remember him, and that's exactly what he's after!"

Victor Wu acted like he had Evan Lin all figured out.

His words were instantly backed up by the others around him.

Everyone nodded, and the way they looked at Evan Lin was like they were watching a clown about to step on stage.

"I understand."

Yara Song nodded, gave Evan Lin one last look, and said, "I think you've heard everything that needs to be said."

"I don't care what you're thinking about me, but let me be clear: there's no way anything could happen between us, and I will never like you."

"No matter how much money your family has, or how great you think your background is, it has nothing to do with me. I hope you'll have some self-respect and stop trying to get close to me with these petty tricks."

After finishing her speech, Yara Song didn't give Evan Lin a chance to respond. She turned away, not sparing him another glance.

She leaned back in her seat and flipped through her magazine, acting as if nothing had happened—making her position crystal clear.

"Haha, this guy must be totally stunned now." Someone chuckled when they saw Evan Lin staying silent.

"Obviously! You have to know what level Yara Song is at. For a star like her, a little family money just isn't enough." Another person gloated, "This dude clearly hasn't figured out reality yet."

Everyone there assumed Evan Lin was just some second-generation kid with a bit of money, trying to 'challenge across ranks' by chasing a star like Yara Song.

He really seemed clueless about his own limits.

With everyone chattering around him, Evan Lin glanced back, but had zero intention of explaining himself.

A bunch of clueless mortals buzzing in his ears—honestly, it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

"Noisy."

Evan Lin softly uttered a single word.

His voice fell like thunder.

Everyone who'd been gossiping instantly went pale.

Many people trembled in shock, feeling as if someone had suddenly squeezed their hearts.

"Who just spoke?"

"What happened?"

"I have no idea."

"Maybe it was just static from turbulence."

Everyone was left shaken—even Victor Wu and Yara Song felt a sudden surge of panic in that instant.

The feeling made them realize just how small they were, as if they'd come face to face with death itself—their minds unsettled, legs weak.

"Let's just keep quiet. If something really happens, we're screwed."

"Quiet, quiet."

The noisy crowd instinctively shut their mouths.

The cabin returned to calm once more.

From behind her sunglasses, Yara Song stole a glance at the boy sitting there.

In that brief moment of panic, Yara Song clearly felt everyone around her was in total chaos.

Only the boy sitting over there remained perfectly calm.

His mood wasn't affected at all—he seemed almost unnaturally tranquil.

He didn't show the slightest anger or annoyance at the ridicule around him.

Was it because he was unusually mature?

Thinking of this, Yara Song frowned, then shook her head and went back to her own thoughts.

Maybe he really was just thick-skinned, or maybe he just reacted slower than most people.

But then again, that made sense.

Only someone that oblivious could say something so ridiculous just now.

What does it mean to 'know Serena Tong'?

What does it mean to have 'never heard of Yara Song'?

You've never even heard of me, Yara Song, and you still came over to strike up a conversation?

Yara Song curled her lip in disgust.

She pushed all those messy thoughts aside, figuring she'd shake off that guy once the plane landed. Just thinking about it made her mood improve.

She'd seen plenty of eager suitors—guys willing to throw away their dignity for a woman. Maybe this guy was just one of them.

As for herself, Yara Song, there was no way she'd ever be interested in someone like that.

No matter what, this boy—his identity, looks, even his demeanor and temperament—fell far short of what Yara Song expected from her future partner.

With that thought, Yara Song stopped paying any attention to Evan Lin.

She glanced at her magazine a few times, started to feel sleepy, and soon drifted off.

When she woke up...

The plane was about to land at Hong Kong International Airport.

All the way until the plane touched down, Yara Song didn't hear the boy say another word.

Maybe he finally realized he was just a toad trying to catch a swan?

After her nap, Yara Song felt pretty good. She stretched lazily, and as the plane landed and the cabin doors opened, everyone disembarked—but Yara Song couldn't shake a vague sense that something was off.
