After hearing Evan Yang's explanation, the Alliance Leader smiled and said, "That's just luck. I only wanted to confirm if what they said was true." "Did they say I was dead?" Evan laughed.
"Yes, that's right. You know they're after your blood. When they found you missing, they just assumed you were dead," answered the Alliance Leader.
"Those people—I'll deal with them when I get the chance. For now, please take me to that place, Alliance Leader," said Evan.
"Alright—Cloud’s End," the Alliance Leader nodded. He then hid Evan inside a spatial treasure and left with him.
After the Alliance Leader left, some people sneaked into Evan's old quarters, trying to steal his blood. But when they arrived, they found him gone—this shocked them.
The Alliance Leader had already taken Evan to a place on the western edge of the Immortal Realm. Before them appeared a glowing halo. Looking at it, the Alliance Leader said, "Here it is—Cloud’s End."
"How do I enter?" Evan asked.
"Just send your awareness inside. I'll keep your body safe," said the Alliance Leader.
Evan nodded, closed his eyes, and, as the Alliance Leader instructed, opened his awareness and entered the halo. The moment he touched it, it felt as if he stepped into a world of light—his whole being was now inside another space.
This space was vast. Evan had no idea where he was, and his current strength was even weaker than the Earth‑Immortal Realm—that troubled him.
"How can I recover quickly? How did the Alliance Leader manage it last time?" Evan muttered to himself.
At that moment, Evan was standing by a river. The water was crystal clear—he could see fish, shrimp, and stones beneath the surface.
"Such a beautiful river. I really wonder what kind of place Cloud’s End is," Evan said.
Driven by curiosity, Evan followed the river, hoping to find signs of people—so he could ask about Cloud’s End.
After a while, as Evan was walking along the riverbank, a young woman suddenly burst out, chased by a group of people. Their strength was at least Immortal Lord Realm or higher, and the woman herself wasn’t weak—she was also at the Immortal Lord level.
"Is she being hunted?" That was Evan’s first reaction.
The woman saw Evan and paused, then said, "Hey, who are you?"
"Me? Evan Yang. What’s going on here?" Evan was about to ask when the group caught up. One of them said, "Just come back quietly."
"No way—I’m not going anywhere with you thugs," the woman snapped.
"Miss Cloud! If you still refuse to come with us, we’ll have to take action," the leader said.
"You dare?" The woman stared at them in shock, then shot Evan a pleading look. Evan felt helpless—his current strength was below Earth‑Immortal, so how could he face these Immortal Lords? That would be asking for trouble.
"Everyone, grab them!" the leader ordered. Seeing the group closing in, the woman suddenly grabbed Evan, raised her hand, and declared, "Him—he’s the one! Are you really going to break us apart?"
Evan was confused—what kind of act was this? The group stopped, and the leader asked skeptically, "Miss Cloud, you can’t just pick a random person to fool us."
"So you’re saying you’re going to break us apart? If you do, you’ll face karmic retribution," Miss Cloud replied.
The group looked at each other, and finally the leader said, "Whatever—let’s bring them both back and let the family decide."
Evan hadn’t even figured out what was happening. He tried to struggle, but the woman’s grip was strong—he couldn’t break free. "Damn it, if I were at my old strength, I’d shake them off," he thought.
The woman seemed happy to let herself be taken back, and grabbed Evan’s hand. "Let’s go," she said.
"What do you mean by this?" Evan asked.
"If you don’t want to die, stop asking questions and just do as I say," the woman whispered to Evan.
Evan really didn’t know whether to feel lucky or helpless—he’d just been threatened by an Immortal Lord. "Fine, fine, I’ll listen," Evan sighed. There was nothing else a newcomer like him could do.
The woman thought Evan looked decent enough. She didn’t know which side he was from, but for now, he’d do—once she didn’t need him anymore, she could just get rid of him.
Evan hadn’t expected to get involved in the affairs of two families. He and the woman arrived at the Cloud Family—a large, populous clan. They passed through the courtyard and entered the main hall, where a middle-aged man was sipping tea. He glanced at Evan and the woman outside, then said, "Come in and sit."
"Such hospitality?" Evan muttered to himself.
The woman stubbornly refused, "I won’t sit. Anyway, I’ve brought my man today. If you insist on forcing me, then when you send me to someone else, and they find out I’m no longer pure, don’t blame me."
"What?" The middle-aged man, about to set down his teacup, dropped it on the floor in shock.
"It’s already done, Dad. If you still want to force your daughter, go ahead," Miss Cloud said.
"What the heck is going on?" Evan grumbled inwardly. He wanted to explain, but if this was just a father-daughter argument, getting involved would only make things worse for him. So, Evan sent a voice transmission to the woman: "What are you saying?"
"Just do as I say. I promise you’ll be fine," the woman replied.
The middle-aged man paced back and forth after hearing his daughter wasn’t pure anymore, cursing for a while before finally calming down. He said, "Fine, since that’s how it is, I’ll go along with it. Tomorrow we’ll hold the wedding! I’ll invite the Song Family, so they know you already have someone and won’t trouble you anymore."
"Dad, isn’t this a bit rushed? Can’t we just tell the Song Family I already have a man? Why make it such a big deal?" The woman hadn’t expected her father to react this way and quickly protested.

"Why not rush? Do you want the Song Family to find out you’re not pure and then cause trouble? Tomorrow we’ll announce it to everyone in Cloud’s End, so they all know you’re already married. That way, no one will dare bother you anymore," the middle-aged man said.
The woman hadn’t expected to dig her own grave, but things had gone too far to back out now. She started calculating her options, then finally said, "Fine, let’s have the wedding tomorrow."
The middle-aged man nodded, "Good, I’ll start making arrangements right away."
Seeing the two completely ignoring him, Evan finally couldn’t help but speak up, "Uh, can I say something?"
"Speak!" the woman and the man said in unison.
"A wedding is a major life event—it shouldn’t be so rushed, right? Besides, you don’t even know where I’m from, and now you want me to marry her?" Evan said awkwardly.
"I almost forgot—who are you, what’s your name, and how did you meet my daughter?" the middle-aged man seemed to remember something.
Evan was about to answer, but the woman cut in, "He’s my man. We met by chance in a secret place, I liked him, he liked me, and after spending time together, feelings developed. You can guess the rest."
"I wasn’t asking you," the middle-aged man snapped.
The woman waved her hand, then sent Evan a voice transmission: "Repeat what I said earlier. If you mess up, I’ll send you on your way right now."
Looking at the beautiful woman, Evan wondered how she could be so ruthless. He looked at them helplessly and said, "That’s right, Miss Cloud’s story is completely true. My name is Evan."
"In that case, stay here in the residence and don’t even think about sneaking out—there are experts guarding the place. I’ll go arrange your wedding," the middle-aged man said, then left. Miss Cloud muttered, "So impatient—he’s ruining my plans."
"Miss, we’ve never met before—why play with me like this?" Evan said. If he still had his cultivation, he wouldn’t have let himself be dragged here.
"What? Marrying me is a bargain for you, and you really think I like you?" Miss Cloud snapped.
"Miss Cloud, why pick me? You could’ve chosen anyone," Evan wondered aloud.
"You were the only one there, so I just blurted it out. Now we’re here and things turned out like this—I can only hope we can escape during tomorrow’s wedding chaos," Miss Cloud said. "Escape? What are you planning?" Evan thought this girl was gutsy.
Miss Cloud smiled, "Don’t worry, I’ll take you with me tomorrow. But until then, you have to do as I say—or I’ll leave you here for my dad to deal with." "You win," Evan said, rubbing his head. He felt miserable—forced into a fake marriage, and although it wasn’t real, he couldn’t shake his unease. He had a feeling tomorrow wouldn’t be peaceful, especially since the Song Family seemed important. "Since we’re here, let’s not waste time. Come, I’ll show you around my home," Miss Cloud said.
Evan had no choice but to follow Miss Cloud as she showed him around the courtyard. He wondered if this was Cloud’s End, and after a while, he became certain—the place was helping his consciousness grow stronger.
"The recovery speed here is way faster than my own cultivation," Evan muttered, feeling his consciousness strengthen.
Miss Cloud, unaware of Evan’s true situation, still saw him as a down‑and‑out pawn—someone to use and discard when he was no longer needed.
As they toured the Cloud Family estate, a commotion erupted from one of the courtyards. Hearing the noise, Miss Cloud muttered, "They’re finally here—so fast."
