Evan Cross couldn’t help but feel a flicker of surprise. Blazewolf wasn’t as simple as he looked on the surface—his reaction speed and adaptability were both top-tier. Dealing with this beast wouldn’t be easy.
Of course, Evan wasn’t worried about Blazewolf’s attacks with his own defense, but if he wanted to really shake up this beast, only Heaven-Cleave would do the job. Yet using Heaven-Cleave would burn through a massive amount of Chaos Dragon Force—he’d have to end it in one blow to win.
He fused five-element power into his Demon-Breaking Fist, unleashing a strike of terrifying might. Though Blazewolf wasn’t hurt, the surrounding forest was instantly shattered—a huge swath of trees smashed flat, leaving dozens of meters of open ground.
“Who the hell are you?” Blazewolf glared at Evan, voice furious. “I’ve never met you before, and we have no grudge—don’t tell me you’re here because that Savage Earth Dragon sent you to die?”
Evan floated calmly in midair, smiling. “I heard you can split into multiple bodies, and your attacks are supposed to be insanely strong. I came here just to see it for myself. I hope you won’t disappoint me.”
“You want to see me split? You’re not even qualified!” Blazewolf sneered. “Today, neither you nor that wretched earth dragon will leave here alive. I’ve been craving strong demon cores—since you’ve come knocking, consider it a gift from the heavens!”
Evan didn’t want to waste time with this beast. He drew the Frostbane Sword from his storage ring, ready to attack—when suddenly, the Wind-Binding Pearl’s artifact spirit spoke up from inside the ring.
“Big brother, is this guy really bad? Want me to help you lock him in place? Then you could hit him as much as you want.”
“You can immobilize him? That’d be great, but—wouldn’t that tire you out, little sis?” Evan’s heart leapt. This ability was basically a living ultimate move, even better than mastering some high-grade martial technique.
Getting pinned in place made anyone vulnerable, no matter how strong they were—especially against quick opponents. Even someone as fast as the Galeclaw Eagle would be helpless if locked down.
