After Evan Cross grabbed Blazewolf's tail, he poured all of his Chaos Dragon Force into his arm and swung with all his might. The massive body of Blazewolf was hurled dozens of meters away, smashing through numerous trees in the distance.
Blazewolf's body weighed at least tens of thousands of jin, yet Evan tossed it with ease, showing just how overwhelming his strength was. Blazewolf scrambled up from the ground, letting out another earth-shaking roar, clearly enraged by Evan's humiliating move.
A surge of cyan light burst from Blazewolf’s body, and then a massive fireball erupted from its mouth. The fireball was pitch-black—flames on par with Samadhi Truefire. If struck by it, the consequences would be terrifying.
But Evan showed no fear. Instead, he flew straight toward the incoming fireball, raising the Frostbane Sword and slashing at it, determined to cut the fireball apart.
In the distance, the Savage Earth Dragon watched Evan dare to face that black fireball directly, deeply worried. It knew all too well how deadly the fireball was, but by the time it wanted to shout a warning, it was already too late—he could only watch helplessly as events unfolded.
But things didn’t turn out as badly as he feared. Evan split the black fireball, scattering its fragments all around. The ground burst into flames, and shattered trees were instantly ignited, the fire quickly engulfing a radius of dozens of meters.
Evan, however, stood calmly in midair, quietly watching the terrified Blazewolf before him. At this moment, Blazewolf looked at Evan as if he’d seen a ghost, unable to believe this ‘lowly human’ could disperse his black fireball—or that the fireball couldn’t hurt him at all.
"Little wolfie, are you satisfied with my strength? Next up is your execution, so you’d better get ready!" Evan taunted.
Blazewolf’s huge eyes flashed with a chilling light, but it had no effect on Evan at all. The cyan glow around its body flared again, and its mouth let out a sound that was equal parts rage and pain.
Its massive body actually began to tremble, leaving Evan momentarily stunned. Was it about to use a cloning technique? But did it really have to look so agonized just to split itself? Evan wondered.
Suddenly, three identical Blazewolfs appeared before Evan. The only difference was a slightly vacant look in their eyes, as if something was missing, but the oppressive aura and dominance they radiated hadn’t diminished at all.
"Awooo!" All three Blazewolfs howled to the sky in unison, then charged at Evan. At the same time, the fleshy wings on their backs unfolded, spanning nearly dozens of meters, giving them a bizarre appearance.
Evan glanced at the three Blazewolfs and noticed that as their meat-wings spread, the surrounding air began to flow rapidly, and powerful fire elements gathered beneath the wings.
Could it be that their strongest attack comes from the fire elements under those wings? I thought they were just for flying, but with their strength, they don’t need wings to fly. They must have evolved for offense, not movement, Evan mused.
"Be careful, Lord Golden Dragon! Blazewolf’s most powerful attack is the flame under its wings—it’s its life-bound fire, and it almost never uses it. That flame can burn anything!" the Savage Earth Dragon shouted from below. If Evan hadn’t forbidden him from interfering, he’d have rushed up long ago.
A flame that can burn anything? Evan was a bit startled. Even with his Sixth-Layer Starforge Body, he wasn’t sure he could withstand that fire, and he hesitated.
"Lin Feng, that flame really is powerful. Your Starforge Body can resist it, but you’ll still suffer. If you can dodge it, do so—the flame’s reached Heavenfire level, and it’s exceptionally strong. Don’t try to take it head-on," Luna, the Sword Spirit, advised.
After hearing this, Evan had a plan. He’d let Blazewolf unleash its flame, then instantly teleport away. With his speed, he should be able to pull it off.
Blazewolf had no idea what Evan was thinking. Suddenly, three black flames, each two meters thick, shot out from under its wings. The flames weren’t pure black, but streaked with faint cyan, and their appearance sent the temperature soaring.
In moments, the trees within hundreds of meters burst into flames from the heat alone. But the three flames didn’t all target Evan directly—one shot above him, one below, and only the true Blazewolf’s flame aimed straight at him.
In other words, the flames blocked all of Evan’s escape routes except the one directly behind him. If Blazewolf could produce three full clones, Evan’s retreat would be completely sealed, and the outcome might be truly dire.
The flames were incredibly fast, reaching Evan in the blink of an eye. But Evan’s teleportation was even faster—he vanished just as the flames were about to engulf him.
The powerful flames lost their target and, propelled by inertia, shot far into the distance. The flame aimed below struck the ground first, instantly turning the area into a sea of fire. The main flame also landed several li away, creating another inferno.
In an instant, the entire forest was ablaze, flames soaring sky-high. The fire spread like mad, igniting the mountain’s vegetation and covering dozens of li in a sea of fire.
The Savage Earth Dragon quickly took to the air—even he couldn’t withstand Blazewolf’s flames. But Evan’s figure had vanished from sight.
For Blazewolf to unleash such devastating flames came at a tremendous cost. Unless absolutely necessary, he’d never use his life-bound fire, because each time he did, his strength dropped further, and recovery took ages.
Now, unable to find Evan, Blazewolf spotted the Savage Earth Dragon nearby and shifted all his rage onto this ‘despicable’ creature—the one who brought that ‘lowly human’ here and ruined his home. If he didn’t kill it, his fury would never be quenched.
All three Blazewolfs charged at the Savage Earth Dragon, but just then, a mighty sword-qi attack appeared before the dragon. It was Evan’s Heaven-Cleave, executed while Blazewolf was off guard—he’d teleported to the dragon’s side to launch a surprise attack...
