Heading to the Thunder Pool I

The sudden attack caught Blazewolf completely off guard. Evan Cross’s strike landed directly on one of its clones, and the power of Heaven‑Cleave was overwhelming—it split that massive body nearly in half.

But that body didn’t gush blood, nor did it make a sound of pain. After a few breaths, a streak of cyan light surged from the wound and then vanished.

However, Blazewolf’s main body seemed to take a severe blow—it suddenly stopped moving forward, its huge frame twisting in midair as it let out heart‑wrenching screams of agony.

Seeing Evan Cross appear, the Savage Earth Dragon was delighted. It instantly shifted back into its beast form, swung its massive tail with all its strength and sent another clone flying dozens of meters. Then, it spat out a black fireball, blasting that clone head‑on.

All of this happened in a flash—Blazewolf had no time to react. Evan Cross went straight for the main body, unleashing another Heaven‑Cleave with lightning speed.

Blazewolf’s mind was shaken by the destruction of its clone, and it never expected Evan’s attack to be so fast. It couldn’t dodge in time—there was a thunderous boom as a huge hole was blasted through its body, blood spurting out and turning the sky into a rain of crimson.

The forest below was still ablaze, crackling and roaring. Evan Cross’s strike sent Blazewolf flying dozens of meters. Blazewolf was fast, but its defense was pitifully weak—this blow had wounded its internal organs.

With both its mind and body suffering heavy damage, Blazewolf could no longer keep its balance. It plummeted from the sky and crashed to the ground with a deafening crash, shaking the earth and sending countless sparks flying upward.

The flames on the ground instantly engulfed Blazewolf, but they couldn’t harm it at all. Evan Cross landed in a flash, swung the Frostbane Sword and unleashed another Heaven‑Cleave. He was always ruthless—if you’re wounded, he’ll finish you off. This third Heaven‑Cleave nearly drained all his Chaos Dragon Force.

If even that couldn’t kill this beast, Evan would just have the Savage Earth Dragon finish it off. At the same time, the Savage Earth Dragon easily disposed of Blazewolf’s remaining clone in midair.

With its mind shattered yet again, Blazewolf had completely lost its kingly aura—the light in its eyes was dim, and Evan Cross’s devastating blow finished it off for good.

Its massive body was cleaved clean in two, organs spilling everywhere—only to be swallowed up by the flames on the ground. Soon, the air was thick with the stench of roasted flesh, so pungent it made Evan want to gag. He had to pinch his nose as he looked down at Blazewolf’s corpse.

“Linfeng, hurry and grab that beast’s demon core! If it can split into clones, it means it has a Nascent Soul. If its Nascent Soul escapes, it’ll take all the energy from the demon core with it!” Luna, the Sword Spirit, urged.

Luna’s words left Evan Cross baffled. A monster beast cultivating a Nascent Soul? He’d never heard of such a thing. But then he remembered Blazewolf’s multiple clones and realized it was possible, so he quickly split open its skull.

Inside, a bead radiating three different colors shimmered faintly. Next to it, he really did find something that looked just like Blazewolf—a palm‑sized miniature version. But it was motionless now, and Evan couldn’t tell if it was truly dead.

Evan took the bead and stored it in his ring, then slashed at the Nascent Soul with his sword. Only after chopping it into pieces did he fly back into the sky, heading off with the Savage Earth Dragon.

After finding a quiet spot, Evan Cross landed, his face a little pale. He turned to the Savage Earth Dragon and said, “Earth Dragon, I need to recover my Stellar Power. Stand guard for me—I don’t want anyone disturbing me.”

“Rest assured, Golden Dragon Lord! I won’t let anyone bother you!” the Savage Earth Dragon replied.

Evan nodded and took out a Star Crystal, beginning to absorb its energy. He had to restore his Chaos Dragon Force as quickly as possible—his defense might be monstrous, but without attack power, surviving in this terrifying Divine Battlefield would be a nightmare.

The energy inside a Star Crystal was truly terrifying. After a full day of absorption, Evan was completely restored. He opened his eyes, his mind replaying how Blazewolf split into clones—and how breaking open its body revealed a Nascent Soul.

This was the first time Evan had ever seen a Nascent Soul with his own eyes. “Big Sis Luna, why do monster beasts have Nascent Souls too? And what’s your take on their ability to split into clones?”

“It’s actually simple. The ten great ferocious beasts of the Divine Battlefield were all cultivated by that old monster Solus. He’s an incredibly powerful cultivator—so for him, giving monster beasts Nascent Souls and clone techniques is easy. Don’t overthink it.” Luna explained.

“Now that you’ve got the Wind Spirit Pearl, when do you plan to cultivate Windshift? Every extra layer of strength is another safeguard for you,” Luna said.

“I want to start right now! Tell me how to use Windshift!” Evan said eagerly.

Luna laughed. “You’re in such a rush! You can’t cultivate Windshift yet—your realm is too low. Wait until you get the Netherghost Violet Orchid. I just wanted to see if you had the drive to push forward.”

Evan felt a little frustrated. Why did he have to break through to the Saint Martial Realm before he could cultivate anything—whether it was absorbing demon core energy, using the Wind Spirit Pearl for Windshift, or training the Ninefold Golden Body Art? He didn’t even know what the Saint Martial Realm really was.

“I know what you’re thinking. Don’t be impatient—your mental state is most important. For now, focus on getting the Thunder Spirit Pearl. Maybe the Thunder Pool’s lightning can remake your body. It’ll be agonizing, but the rewards will be enormous,” Luna said.

Evan stood up and glanced at the Savage Earth Dragon. “Earth Dragon, let’s go find the Galeclaw Eagle and check out the Thunder Pool.”

“You want to go to the Thunder Pool, Golden Dragon Lord? That place is even more dangerous than the Glasswind Region!” the Savage Earth Dragon exclaimed in shock.

“Of course I’m going. You know how strong I am—the Thunder Pool is nothing! Come on, let’s see what the Galeclaw Eagle’s nest looks like. Who knows, maybe I’ll even let you taste some grilled eagle!” Evan laughed.

At that moment, the Savage Earth Dragon truly realized just how terrifying the Golden Dragon Lord was. He’d just slaughtered Blazewolf with ease, and now he was off to hunt the Galeclaw Eagle. Following him was clearly the right choice. With that, the two of them shot off toward the horizon…
