The agent hesitated for a moment. "Didn't you already break up?"
"Yes. This is her breakup gift to me." Lucas Lin faced his agent calmly. "Miss Zhou always keeps her word. If she says she'll give me resources, she'll definitely do it. Let me finish filming these two projects first, then I'll take on something else."
Rona Muir, after resting, went to look for Cecilia Gu.
As soon as she entered the house, she saw Cecilia Gu hurrying out. "What's going on? Why are you in such a rush?"
"Ugh, don't even mention it." Cecilia Gu put on her shoes, took her bag and car keys from the maid, and said to Rona Muir, "I just met a new friend these past few days, named Yiran. She's always sick and something's always happening. Now she's ill again, so I'm going to check on her! Oh, by the way, I'm counting on you to handle things at the company! My sister and I are both busy! Oh, and one more thing."
Rona Muir crossed her arms. "I get it. You're punishing me for going out to play without you guys a while back! So now that I'm back, all the work gets dumped on me, right?"
Cecilia Gu burst out laughing. "You could say that—it's your turn now. Anyway, here's the real deal: yesterday afternoon, the advertising department reported to me that they want to invite a young influencer named Lucas Lin to endorse one of Danni Cosmetics' offline products. This job's yours! I've got other things to do, so I'm heading out! Bye bye bye!"
Before Rona Muir could reply, Cecilia Gu was already gone in a whirlwind.
That woman, seriously...
"President Rona, would you like to come in and rest for a bit?" the butler asked gently.
Rona Muir came here so often that nobody in the family considered her an outsider.
She wasn't really an outsider anyway.
"Forget it. Didn't you hear what your boss, Gu the Squeezer, said? I've got to get back to work." Rona Muir didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "I'm off, I'm off."
"Safe travels, President Rona," the butler said cheerfully, seeing her out.
Rona Muir waved, got in her car, and drove to the company.
"It's him." Rona Muir took the contract from the advertising department, glanced at the file, and immediately smiled. "You guys are fast. I only decided to have him shoot the ad a few days ago, and you've already drafted the contract. All right, I'll handle this from start to finish. Cici and Morgan probably won't have time to come to the office these days. When they're back, we can squeeze them for all they're worth!"
The staff could barely hold back their laughter.
That's just how the three bosses are—always bickering but inseparable.
They were all used to it by now.
Rona Muir reviewed the contract carefully, then reached out to Lucas Lin directly.
Lucas Lin had been waiting anxiously for Rona Muir's call. When the phone finally rang, his voice trembled a little. "Rona?"
"Yes." Rona Muir had fully returned to her boss-lady style since coming back to China. "It's me. Lucas, has your agency notified you yet? Danni Cosmetics wants to invite you to shoot two commercials."
"Yeah, I know. I've already signed the contract with my agency." Lucas Lin tried to contain his excitement. "My agent can come over anytime to sign with your company."
"Great. When are you free?" Rona Muir checked her calendar. The past few days, Cici and Morgan had handled most of the company affairs, so aside from a few documents that needed the president's signature, there wasn't much left to do.
"Anytime works for me," Lucas Lin said. "How about I come over as soon as possible? In a few days, I'll be joining a film crew. The two sets are close together, and the shooting schedules are back-to-back. I've already told the director to concentrate my scenes first. Both projects will take about three to four months. After that, I'll need to travel nationwide for promotions. I don't want to delay your ad shoot and release, so let's get it done quickly."
"Sounds good." Rona Muir agreed readily. "I'll have my assistant book your tickets."
"Okay." Lucas Lin's voice was tinged with sweetness. "We'll see each other soon."
Rona Muir was always known for her efficiency. After so many years as vice president and president, she was decisive and quick.
If she said they'd shoot a commercial, they'd shoot a commercial. If she said she'd book tickets, she'd book tickets.
The next day, Lucas Lin arrived in N City with his agent and assistant, visited a workshop at Danni Cosmetics under Rona Muir's personal guidance, and smoothly signed the advertising contract.
The creative department sent over several ad scripts, and Lucas Lin and his team picked two to start shooting.
The shoot was set at a filming base in the northwest suburbs of N City.
This place gathered local and even provincial internet celebrities, as well as models for Taobao, JD, and Pinduoduo.
In just a few years, it transformed from an abandoned factory area into a busy, assembly-line-style shooting hub.
Actually, this was all Cecilia Gu's idea.
Cecilia Gu suggested repurposing the old factory area into different types of studios, benefiting photography lovers everywhere.
The higher-ups took her advice, and soon, lots of people came here to shoot photos.
Over time, more and more people came, the zones became clearer, and the facilities got more high-end.
Many photography companies moved in.
It created a siphon effect—models and photographers from all over the province and even the country came here to shoot.
So when Yin Enterprises unintentionally bought this plot of land, they made another fortune.
But that's just background.
Now, Danni Cosmetics' official shooting team was also based here.
Rona Muir brought Lucas Lin and the others to the photography base. Through the car window, they saw lots of people striking poses, surrounded by photographers.
Plenty of influencers pretended to be caught walking, making silly faces for the camera.
Rona Muir observed, "The internet just keeps growing, and new influencers pop up every day. We used to consider hiring influencers for ads, but in the end, it would've lowered Danni Cosmetics' standards. If we're picking someone, I'd rather go with a celebrity. At least you all have real work to show for it."

Lucas Lin smiled. "It's an honor to be praised by you."
Rona Muir laughed. "But really, this land made Mrs. Yin a lot of money. See over there, and there, and there? Those are brand-new sites, about to be turned into small studios for fantasy drama crews. The space is small but cheap—way less than renting at a film city. Plus, it's open enough for three crews to shoot green screen scenes at once. Originally, Mrs. Yin bought this land to use as a warehouse, but then she had the idea to turn it into a shooting base. Now, it doesn't need to be a warehouse at all!"
"Mrs. Yin is truly wise," Lucas Lin complimented Cecilia Gu at just the right moment. Sure enough, Rona Muir smiled even more when she heard him praise her.
"She's really lucky," Rona Muir said with a smile. "With Morgan always looking out for her, her luck will never run out."
When they arrived at Danni Cosmetics' dedicated studio, a team was already waiting inside.
Somehow, word had leaked out, and a dozen fans were waiting at the entrance with signs for Lucas Lin.
When Lucas Lin got out of the car wearing a mask, the fans screamed, "Lucas! Look over here! I'm right here!"
"Hubby, I love you!"
"Brother Feng, I'll always support you!"
"Ahhh, don't push me! I want a selfie with hubby!"
...
It was Rona Muir's first time seeing such wild fans. She couldn't help but stand aside and watch the spectacle.
Lucas Lin gave Rona Muir an apologetic smile, then went over to sign autographs and take photos with the fans. "This is a private schedule today, so please don't spread the word, okay?" he said to them.
"Ahhh! Our hubby is so gentle! Don't worry, we won't tell anyone!" The fans swore, "It's like a dream! You're even more handsome than on TV!"
Lucas Lin smiled and waved at them before heading into the studio with his team protecting him.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Lucas Lin said gently to Rona Muir. "I didn't leak my schedule on purpose."
Rona Muir replied, "No worries, they can't get inside anyway. But now I've seen your popularity firsthand. I heard your market value's shot up lately—does this contract seem beneath you?"
"Not at all," Lucas Lin replied immediately. "I'm the one who's lucky to work with you."
He added, "Danni Cosmetics isn't one of those run-of-the-mill companies. Working with Danni—never mind the price, I'd do it for free."
His agent coughed heavily beside him, snapping Lucas Lin back to reality. His face turned bright red.
Rona Muir found this young man more and more adorable.
How could there be such a cute boy in the world?
Such a well-behaved kid definitely deserves to be cherished.
The first commercial was for a regular hair and body care product. They set up a home-like scene in the studio, with the ad showing a man using Danni's men's shower gel after an intense workout.
Rona Muir sat behind the equipment, watching Lucas Lin's lean, muscular figure in the bubbles. It reminded her of that day in the hotel, when they both accidentally got soaked.
Rona Muir suddenly looked away, feeling a bit awkward.
But when she looked up, she met Lucas Lin's gaze.
She wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but she saw a wild possessiveness in his eyes.
"Good, good, perfect!" the director exclaimed happily. "Keep that energy! Let's do two more takes and try to finish this ad today. Makeup artist, come touch up!"
