The Robbed Signet Ring

"Hmm... Actually, you both could count as 'first.' Ezra was the first before, and you're the first now."

"That doesn't make me feel any better."

"Uh..."

Sean glanced at the two of them, his expression not exactly friendly.

"What kind of look is that?"

Sean kept his face stoic, reading the memorial, and said nothing.

"Is there bad news?" Lily leaned in to look.

"You have hands, you have feet, your magic can reach the heavens. Why do you even need Divine Attendants?" Sean said, his tone dripping with jealousy.

"Tch! There are so many Divine Attendants in the Celestial Palace—why do you only have a problem with Ezra?" Lily shot him a look.

He just sulked in silence.

"Alright, alright! I'll just have him run more errands from now on, so he won't be hanging around here, okay?"

Sean finally looked a little less grumpy.

"Hey, I heard today that my big brother's consort is pregnant with a boy."

"Didn't you say she had rotten peach-blossom luck? Looks like she's actually pretty lucky!"

"Are you questioning my Rune Master divination skills?"

"Yes."

Lily reached out and grabbed his chin. "Then tonight you sleep alone."

"Thanks! I could use the rest anyway!" Sean said cheekily.

"Sean Shaw!"

Sean gave her a mischievous, sweet smile.

He really looked just like a boy barely over a thousand years old.

Lily propped her chin and looked at him. "Don't just smile at me like that for no reason."

"Why not?"

"You should just go inside and sleep. Hehehe!"

...

For some reason, Sean always felt uncomfortable whenever he saw Ezra Cloud.

So Lily Bai started giving him more errands outside, rarely letting him work in the palace.

But one day, Ezra Cloud came running back in tears, saying he'd been robbed.

"What did they steal? Who robbed you?" Lily asked.

"It's my Celestial Relic! A Signet Ring—it's a really top-grade Celestial Relic! It can even block attacks from the Divine Race!" Ezra said angrily.

"Who robbed you?" Lily asked.

Who would dare to rob someone in Drake Abyss?

"It was the princess! Princess Quinn Xiao! She's a princess and she still robbed me, her little Divine Attendant!" Ezra Cloud complained.

"Really?" Lily Bai couldn't believe it.

"It's true," said Chacha. "I was with Ezra at the time. She saw the Signet Ring on his hand, asked where he got it, and when he didn't answer, she just snatched it!"

"She has everything—why would she want to steal your stuff? What's the story behind your Celestial Relic?" Lily asked skeptically.

"A friend gave it to me. When I was traveling with my master, I accidentally saved someone, and he gave me the Signet Ring as thanks," Ezra explained.

Lily Bai thought for a moment and said, "Let's go! I'll take you to see her."

She went to Princess Quinn Xiao's palace. The princess saw her and asked coldly, "You're here for your little servant, aren't you?"

"Yes," said Lily Bai. "Princess, why did you take his Celestial Relic?"

The princess tossed out a Storage Pouch and said to Ezra, "There are several top-grade Celestial Relics inside. Pick whichever you like!"

"I don't want those! I just want my own!" Ezra Cloud insisted stubbornly.

"Then pick two! Is that good enough?" Princess Quinn Xiao said.

"That Signet Ring was a gift from a friend. I can't give it to you, Princess. Please give it back to me!" Ezra pleaded.
