Joyful Melody

Lucia Lu said with a hint of regret, "Back then, who would've guessed he'd ascend to Divine Lord? If I'd known, I would've treated him better!"

Adrian Drake had a different take. He said, "Soren Lann has always been magnanimous—he wouldn't remember those little things. Clearly, he was just worried about you today!"

Lucia Lu burst out laughing, "Why not just say he has a secret crush on me? Did you hear what those people were saying? They actually think, since Soren and I both wore red today, something good is about to happen and we’ll be getting married soon! Hahaha!"

Adrian Drake and Ryan Lu both knew exactly how Lucia had used her 'Senior Sister' status to bully the juniors—Adrian and Soren—for three hundred years. The whole group burst out laughing.

In Peach Blossom Haven, the carefree laughter of the young gods echoed, mingling with the chattering of birds—together weaving a joyful melody...

"Hey! The peaches over there are ripe!" Adrian’s eyes lit up and he dashed over like a monkey.

But he ran headfirst into the barrier.

"Ouch, there’s actually a barrier..." He clutched his forehead and hissed in pain.

"Pfft! These are flat peaches transplanted from Drake Abyss—they only bear fruit once every three hundred years! Eating them really helps your cultivation," Lucia laughed. "If we didn’t set up a barrier, there wouldn’t be any left. Those immortals who love wandering past the orchard would’ve picked it clean ages ago."

This whole peach grove in Peach Blossom Haven was originally transplanted from Drake Abyss.

They say at first, only a single tree was transplanted. Later, High God Quentin Lian planted every peach pit from that tree, and gradually it became a whole orchard.

Also, the flat peaches from Drake Abyss—each tree there only grows three or five at most. But here in the Lumina Realm, maybe because it’s warmer, the peaches grow in big, bountiful clusters.

Adrian pressed his face against the barrier, drooling over the fruit inside. "Big, red flat peaches! I want one so bad... I only got half a peach when I was a kid, and I still remember how good it tasted."

"Look at you, so hopeless!" Lucia teased. "Hang on, I’ll get one for you!"

She pulled out a piece of Rune Talisman paper and stuck it onto the barrier.

Soon enough, a neat round hole appeared in the barrier.

"That’s a nifty trick!" Ryan Lu’s eyes lit up. "Where’d you get it?"

"A little while ago, a junior immortal from the Spirit Alliance came—what was his name... Faustin! Yes, Faustin. He’s a Sigil Sect disciple and came to beg medicine for his master. I made him trade me something fun for it, and he gave me this talisman paper."

Ryan Lu said, "It really is clever. Totally worth it!"

"Hey, I just realized this is a great idea!" Adrian exclaimed. "From now on, anyone who wants my medicine has to pay with a treasure!"

"With your three-days-on, two-days-off work ethic, who would even dare ask you for medicine?" Lucia Lu looked at him like he was nuts.

"Why not! My medical skills are top-notch!" Adrian protested, though he sounded a bit guilty. "You made a hole in the barrier, so hurry up and pick a peach!"

Lucia Lu beckoned to the biggest, reddest peach inside.

The peach wobbled, left its branch, and floated through the hole—squeezing its way out.

Lucia didn’t touch the peach at all—she just sent it floating through the air, right to Adrian.

Adrian cast a spell, cupping his hands around it. With a burst of spirit power, all the prickly peach fuzz fell right off.

"Me too, me too!" Ryan Lu begged, suddenly craving one. "Get one for me, too!"

Lucia got another peach, again without touching it, and let them deal with the fuzz themselves.
