Only Knows How to Make Holes, Not Fix Them

The boy called Shenxiao—Damian Black—followed Adrian Drake the whole way without saying a word, just trailing along in silence.

Lucia Lu, of course, wouldn’t snub a guest. She produced a third peach, personally plucked off the vicious fuzz, walked up to him, and handed it over: “Here you go.”

Shenxiao wasn’t like Adrian—he wasn’t close, so Lucia couldn’t just toss him a fuzzy peach.

Besides, with his cultivation, he might not even be able to handle the tricky fuzz on a flat peach.

But to her surprise, Damian just lowered his eyes, stepped back, and said expressionlessly, “No need.”

This boy was seriously antisocial.

Lucia just laughed, grabbed his hand, and shoved the peach into it. “Come on, try it! It’s super tasty! Look at Adrian drooling over there!”

Damian was forced to take the peach, clutching the fingers she’d just touched—his ‘keep-away’ aura only got stronger.

“Ugh, this fuzz is the worst!” Ryan Lu tugged at his peach for ages—flattening it in the process—but the fuzz still wouldn’t come off. “Lucia, help me out!”

The fuzz on these flat peaches was their weapon—anyone who tried to eat one got stabbed, and the pain lingered for days. Stubborn and vicious, that’s what they were.

“You can’t even handle peach fuzz—how did you eat peaches before?” Lucia asked.

“They always cleaned and sliced them for me and brought them over!”

“Did they even feed you too? You’re such a pampered young master!” Lucia scoffed. “Do it yourself!”

“Hey! You peeled the fuzz for Damian—why won’t you help your second brother?”

“You and him are not the same,” Lucia said, ignoring him and sneaking a fourth peach for herself.

“We’re both human-shaped, with two hands and a mouth—how am I any different?”

“Sure, but he looks better than you!” Lucia grinned. “I only help good-looking people with their peaches!”

“Lu—cia—Lu! Are you saying I’m not handsome?” Ryan Lu stomped his foot.

Lucia grabbed the fourth peach, expertly stripped off the fuzz, and handed it over. “Fine, fine! You’re handsome—the most handsome!”

Then she took Ryan’s squashed peach, cleaned off the fuzz, and took a big bite. “Wow! So delicious!”

Ryan didn’t bother arguing anymore—he just dug into his peach, munching away.

Even after finishing, they still wanted more. Each of them stuffed a few extra peaches into their Storage Pouches before finally getting ready to leave.

“Wait!” Ryan called out.

All three turned to look at him.

“The hole!” He pointed at the gap Lucia had made. “We have to patch it!”

“It’s just a tiny hole, who cares?” Lucia said.

“It’s a big deal! A really big deal!” Ryan insisted, dead serious. “These early peaches are meant for the Celestial Palace, Southcourt Palace, and Radiant Palace. If someone finds the hole and steals them, we’re doomed!”

Lucia spent most of her time at the Spirit Alliance and rarely came home.

Ryan, on the other hand, was home a lot more, so he knew all about the family business.

“Oh…” Lucia walked over to check the hole, then turned back. “I only asked for a talisman to make holes, not one to fix them. I don’t know how to patch it…”

“Adrian, do you know how?” Ryan asked.

Adrian shook his head.

Ryan wailed, “We’re doomed! Big Brother’s in charge of this orchard…”

Lucia sucked in a sharp breath. “Ryan! Why didn’t you say something earlier? Now you’re just being a backseat driver!”

“Well, you never said you could only make holes, not patch them!”
