You Can Eat Peaches Every Day
"Oh, so now you're blaming me! When I punched that hole, you should've stopped me! I bet you were so greedy you forgot all about it!"
"I..."
"Let me handle it." Suddenly, a low, deep voice sounded from behind.
Lucia Lu and Ryan Lu turned around, only to see Damian Black (Shenxiao) reach out and send a faint red-glowing spiritual power into the small hole.
The small hole slowly closed up, leaving no trace behind.
"Wow! Amazing!" Ryan Lu gave Damian Black a big thumbs-up.
Damian Black finished, expressionless, withdrawing his power.
"Damian, what kind of immortal are you? What spell did you use just now? I've never heard of any spell that can patch up a Spirit Barrier!" Ryan Lu, always the friendly type, tried to throw an arm around his shoulder.
Damian Black sidestepped, replying coolly, "Human."
Ryan Lu's hand froze in midair. "Oh! Good! Very good! Human immortals are the wisest of all immortals. Excellent."
Lucia Lu couldn't help but laugh, then turned and headed home.
As soon as she got back, she saw a whole row of Divine Attendants standing in the house.
Her sister Luna Lian was chatting with their mother, High Goddess Vivian Lu, who had just returned from a banquet.
Also present was Vivian's younger sister, Divine Lady Tanya Lu—their little aunt—who sat there, leisurely sipping tea.
"Huh? What's all this about?" Lucia asked. "Why so many people?"
High Goddess Vivian Lu replied, "Yu'er, you've spent all these years in the Spirit Alliance and rarely come home. You don't even have a single Divine Attendant to run errands for you. Now that you're back, I've picked out a few good ones—why don't you choose two?"
Lucia looked them over—there were six in total, three men and three women, each one extremely good-looking and clever.
And every single one was a High Immortal.
"This little immortal Bixue greets the Divine Lady." Suddenly, one especially striking, bright-eyed girl stepped forward and saluted her.
The others, seeing this, hurried to follow suit and salute as well.
Lucia glanced at Luna Lian and quietly asked via soul transmission, "Where did all these people come from?"
Luna Lian lowered her eyes and replied calmly, "The three on the left were picked by our little aunt, and the three on the right were sent by big aunt's side."
Lucia raised her eyebrows slightly, looked them over one by one, then stopped by Adrian Drake. Smiling, she pointed at him and asked, "Would you like to be my Divine Attendant?"
Adrian Drake stiffened all over and looked back at Damian Black, who was standing behind him.
But Lucia was actually pointing at Damian Black.
Damian Black glanced at Lucia, then lowered his eyes, his whole face full of rejection and icy coldness.
Lucia thought he was hilarious.
Every time someone poked him, he'd get colder.
The more you poke, the frostier he gets. Ha!
"Huh? Yu'er, who is he?" High Goddess Vivian Lu asked.
"He's Adrian Drake's distant relative," Lucia explained. "He came up from the Wildlands, and I just set my sights on him!"
"Well..." High Goddess Vivian Lu looked at Damian Black, clearly impressed. "He does look good, but how can you just steal Adrian's Divine Attendant?"
"He's not my Divine Attendant!" Adrian hurried to say. "No, what I mean is—he probably can't be your family's Divine Attendant either!"
Lucia: "Why not?"
"Because... because he's just here to look around, he doesn't plan to stay long-term. He still has to go back to the Wildlands!"
"If he hasn't planned on it yet, he can start planning now!" Lucia winked at Damian Black. "If you stay in Peach Blossom Haven, you can eat peaches every day!"
"Uh..." Adrian looked at Damian, at a loss for words.
Damian Black bowed politely. "Thank you for your kindness, Divine Lady, but I cannot be your Divine Attendant."
"Why not?" Lucia was genuinely curious now.
