It’s Not Like Choosing a Husband

1/4/2026

Down in the lower realm, is there really any little immortal who wouldn’t want to have some connection with the Lu Clan?

Besides, Peach Blossom Haven is such a gorgeous divine estate—the Lu Clan is gentle and kind, their rule is relaxed, and even the attendants at Radiant Palace envy the ones at Peach Blossom Haven!

"Because... I don’t like peaches," Damian Black replied.

Lucia Lu: "Oh... ha!"

She was actually left speechless by that excuse.

"Yu’er, since that’s the case, you should just pick one of them!" High Goddess Vivian Lu pointed at the six attendants.

"Exactly! These attendants were all carefully chosen by your Divine Mother!" Aunt Tanya Lu added with a smile.

But Lucia Lu just shook her head. "Let them go! I only like Damian’s type—even though he turned me down, I’m sure I can convince him to stay!"

Adrian Drake: "..."

Ryan Lu pouted, "You’re picking an attendant, not a husband! Why does he have to be so good-looking?"

"You just don’t get it! A Divine Attendant is way more important than a husband!" Lucia Lu declared. "Most Divine Race couples are off doing their own thing—sometimes they barely see each other all year. But a Divine Attendant is with you every single day, so of course you want someone who’s easy on the eyes and actually useful. Isn’t that right, Adrian?"

Adrian Drake: "True, but—"

"No buts! Help me send them away first!" Lucia Lu whispered to him via soul-transmission.

Adrian had no choice but to pivot quickly: "...But you really should take your time picking a personal Divine Attendant. Vet them thoroughly—it’s not something to rush."

Lucia Lu nodded. "Divine Mother, just send them all back to wherever they came from! I only want Damian!"

High Goddess Vivian Lu scolded, "You child! He clearly doesn’t want to stay, you know?"

"I’ll find a way to make him stay," Lucia Lu said confidently.

High Goddess Vivian Lu could only say, "Then all of you may go."

All six attendants looked disappointed and prepared to leave.

But just then, the first to step forward—Bella Snow—suddenly dropped to her knees, clutching Lucia’s skirt. "Divine Lady! I admire you so much—I really want to stay by your side and serve you. Please, Divine Lady, let me stay!"

Lucia Lu looked at her, her face suddenly turning cold as she unleashed her divine pressure: "How dare you! Who said you could touch me?"

Bella Snow was so frightened she instantly let go, her face turning pale.

"Leave!" Lucia Lu yanked her skirt free from Bella’s grip, the red feather-woven fabric sweeping out in a dazzling arc—noble and untouchable.

Bella Snow lowered her head, stood up, and quietly withdrew.

"Yu’er, don’t be like that. If word gets out, people will say you’re arrogant!" Divine Lady Tanya Lu said with concern.

"Let them talk—I don’t care," Lucia Lu said, snuggling up to High Goddess Vivian Lu. "As long as Divine Father and Divine Mother don’t think I’m arrogant, that’s all that matters."

High Goddess Vivian Lu could never resist her daughter’s cuteness. She hugged Lucia, her eyes full of laughter. "Choose whomever you like—after all, it’s your attendant to command."

"Divine Mother, you’re the best!" Lucia Lu puckered up, about to kiss her.

High Goddess Vivian Lu laughed and dodged. "Adrian’s still here! Aren’t you afraid your junior brother will laugh at you?"

"He wouldn’t dare!" Lucia Lu stood up, shot Adrian and the others a look, and said, "Divine Mother, Ryan wants to spar with Adrian! We’re heading out!"

"Go on! Use the Spirit Barrier at the trial-field—just don’t damage the peach trees!" High Goddess Vivian Lu called.

Adrian Drake grinned. "Don’t worry, Madam Vivian—we won’t!"
