Seeing so many people die in an instant, Qin Yan no longer held back.
While the two sides battled fiercely, Morgan Shangguan swaggered away with Muriel Murong and Claude Yun. So many people, yet not a single one managed to stop them!
Qin Yan’s face darkened with rage. He’d always prided himself on his command, but now, with so many men unable to handle just a dozen opponents—were his subordinates made of tofu? Even if he hadn’t gone all out, the gap was infuriating!
Seeing the situation was about right, Damien Gray spoke up, "I suppose it’s time for me to leave as well!"
Now that Qin Yan was gravely injured, and with a crowd still standing behind Damien Gray, no one wanted to offend this harbinger of doom—so naturally, no one tried to stop him!
Outside Qin Fortress, Morgan Shangguan had barely stepped out the main gate before running into someone.
“Ha ha... Cloud Guildmaster, don’t you feel a little unbalanced?” Quentin Hua, ever the mischievous troublemaker, was here simply to watch the show this time!
Morgan Shangguan glanced at him coolly and said, “What does the Lotus Sect Master want?”
“Honestly, nothing much. I just want to know—between you and your husband, who’s stronger?”
Morgan Shangguan tossed back, “You’ll see soon enough!”
Quentin Hua watched her leave, raising his brows. Was Morgan Shangguan finally taking things seriously?
Well, yes—Morgan Shangguan really was serious now. Today’s events had been a blow. No one feared her anymore; perhaps she’d been too gentle. It was time to learn from Damien Gray.
She ought to make an example—starting with Damien Gray. Every time he schemed against her, it was about time she turned the tables!
Watching Damien Gray follow right behind, Quentin Hua waved in greeting, but Damien ignored him completely. Quentin could only shrug and wander off, not even bothering to tease Maxwell Jing or Ethan Gu. Seems he wasn’t so carefree after all!
But things weren’t over yet. The Righteous Path had already sent out hero invitations, preparing for a martial arts summit—their purpose was clear: to deal with the Ghost Guild and Cloud Guild.
Actually, Morgan Shangguan’s easy departure from Qin Fortress wasn’t because the righteous sects were useless. Qin Yan’s birthday was merely a pretext; no one had truly planned to confront Damien Gray and Morgan Shangguan head-on.
Dealing with those two would take careful planning. Both the Ghost Guild and Cloud Guild were formidable. If they were simply killed, new leaders would emerge—even if those successors weren’t as capable, it would still spell trouble. The best way was to uproot them completely!
Such was the way of the Righteous Path—everything required a proper excuse. Even when acting for their own interests, they had to make it look like justice!
"Mo'er..."
"Hm?" Morgan Shangguan narrowed her eyes against the dazzling sunlight, answering lazily. She pulled his arm around her waist and held him close.
Seeing her like this, Damien Gray couldn’t help but smile and held her tighter. Morgan Shangguan nuzzled into his neck and asked, “What is it you want to say?”
Damien Gray shook his head with a smile. “I was going to say, Ethan Gu and Maxwell Jing seem awfully busy lately!” The Ghost Guild had been plagued with mishaps, so even Ethan Gu’s month-long vacation was canceled!
Morgan Shangguan raised an eyebrow, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him lightly on the lips. With a faint smile, she said, “Just give them less work. They’re your people, not mine!”
Damien Gray sighed helplessly. “You don’t really want both sides to suffer, do you?”
Morgan Shangguan arched her brow. “Don’t exaggerate. My people know their limits!”
Damien Gray shook his head indulgently. “Suit yourself, then!”
Morgan Shangguan frowned. “You’d better take me seriously, or I really will take over the Ghost Guild!”
Damien Gray kissed her on the cheek and replied carelessly, “Isn’t yours mine anyway?”
Morgan Shangguan sat up straight, looked at him, and said seriously, “If you act like this, my victory won’t feel earned—it won’t be satisfying at all!”
Damien Gray gave a helpless smile. “Then I’ll do my best!” Having a rival was interesting, but it would mean less time together. Still, if she wanted to play, he couldn’t spoil her fun!
As if sensing his thoughts, Morgan Shangguan kissed him and laughed softly, “Some things don’t require a personal touch.”
Damien Gray smiled. “That’s true!” Wasn’t that exactly the case now? She was still in his arms, yet the Ghost Guild was in an uproar because of her!
Maxwell Jing dragged himself into the Shadow Court, just in time to see the two of them so loving and relaxed—so unfair!
Feeling his resentful gaze, Morgan Shangguan turned to look at him, then lazily nestled back into Damien Gray’s arms, as if she had no idea she was the cause of his exhaustion!
Maxwell Jing looked ready to burst into tears, his voice trembling, “Prince Damien…” Why did Prince Damien and Princess Consort get to flirt and be happy while he suffered?
Morgan Shangguan shot him a glance. “No one asked you to work so hard!” She wasn’t really going to wipe out the Ghost Guild!
Damien Gray chuckled, “If you didn’t work hard, wouldn’t you feel unsatisfied?”
Morgan Shangguan paused, then waved her hand. “Go find Ethan Gu for comfort!”
Damien Gray nodded in agreement, reminding, “The coming days might be even tougher!”
Maxwell Jing stared wordlessly at the two. Were they even human? More like demons! He turned and left in silence, off to find his beloved Ethan Gu—he really needed some comfort!
Susie Yun watched this scene and couldn’t help but laugh. How wonderful! Everyone was so happy!
Morgan Shangguan glanced at her and smiled. “Susie Yun, you’ll scare people like that!”
Susie Yun looked at the tray floating beside her and pursed her lips, smiling. “It’s not my fault! Ryan insisted on competing with me!”
Ryan Ouyang set down two cups of tea before Morgan Shangguan and Damien Gray, then placed another in front of Susie Yun. As Susie Yun lifted the lid to catch the aroma, she realized her cup had vanished.
