Alliance of Two Great Powers

Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil and her group waited in the small town for three days, but no one came to claim the reward. This proved that Shadow and Old Goldwing weren’t in this town at all—otherwise, just hearing Evan Chu’s name would have made them come to check things out.

After her divine sense search also turned up nothing, she decided to leave and look elsewhere. Three days later, Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil and her group left the town and continued searching for Shadow and Old Goldwing.

The day after they left, Shadow and Old Goldwing came back. Of course, they heard about someone searching for them too. Evan Chu was the only one who called them by those names—yet now others knew them. That could mean only two things.

First, the people searching for them might have been sent by Evan Chu, so they could be friends. Second, Evan Chu might have run into trouble, and someone learned about the two of them from him—since he carried their totems.

Of course, the second possibility was almost impossible. With Evan Chu’s personality, he’d rather die than betray his brothers and friends. But the first possibility wasn’t very likely either—word was the visitor was a super expert, and with how recently Evan Chu had ascended to the God Realm, he wouldn’t have had the status or chance to befriend someone like that.

Maybe it was all a trap—just bait to lure them out. As for how their names got out, maybe Evan Chu accidentally let it slip somewhere and someone with an agenda remembered.

Even with all these doubts, the two didn’t act rashly. “Old Goldwing, do you think we should go check out these people and see what they’re about? Maybe it really is big brother looking for us?”

“Even if big brother is looking for us, we’re not going—unless he comes himself or we go find him. If these people have bad intentions, we’d be in real trouble. With our strength, there’s no way we could escape from experts like that. Let’s just wait and see. I believe one day we’ll definitely be reunited with the boss.” Old Goldwing said.

That’s why Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil just missed running into Old Goldwing and Shadow. When Evan Chu eventually found them and asked why they hadn’t come out back then, both were dumbstruck—they’d never dreamed the person searching for them was actually their future sister-in-law.

Old Goldwing and Shadow chose to stay put, while Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil searched every nearby town but still couldn’t find a trace of them. In the end, she could only return to Rainbow Court, frustrated and empty-handed.

While Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil was searching for Old Goldwing and Shadow, Poison Maiden Tia Thorn of Skysoar Sect actually succeeded in refining that world-shocking poison, God-Chasing Powder. She couldn’t help thinking: if not for Elena, maybe she would have been Lord Frostbane’s woman. If she’d been by his side, maybe he never would have fallen.

On top of that, Elena’s son-in-law had almost killed her own son. Old grudges and new hatred mixed together—she wanted nothing more than to storm Rainbow Court and settle the score. But three days after finishing the poison, the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master personally arrived at Skysoar Sect.

The Skysoar Sect Master naturally gave him a warm welcome—after all, they were equals in status. As the saying goes, ‘no one visits the temple without a reason,’ so the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master must have come for something important. Most likely, it was about Elena’s son-in-law injuring his son at the Marriage Tournament.

“Pavilion Master, your visit truly brings glory to Skysoar Sect! It’s been a long time since we brothers gathered—what brings you here today?” the Skysoar Sect Master asked.

Poison Maiden Tia Thorn was there too—after all, as the sect master’s wife, she should accompany such an important guest. Besides, the Skysoar Sect Master listened to her on most matters; he was a classic henpecked husband.

“I’m sure both the Sect Master and Madam know why I’m here, so I’ll get straight to the point. That bitch Elena has sheltered her son-in-law and refused to give us justice. There’s no way I can swallow this humiliation!” said the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master.

“Pavilion Master, aren’t you a little late? This whole mess happened nearly thirty years ago—why do you want to settle accounts with Elena just now? And why come to Skysoar Sect first? We want the truth,” Poison Maiden Tia Thorn said.

Now that Tia Thorn had refined the world-shocking poison, she didn’t care about the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master at all. If he dared get out of line, she’d make him pay dearly. With that poison in hand, she could even wipe out the Drifting Cloud Guild if she wanted.

“To be honest, I went to Rainbow Court before coming to Skysoar Sect. For some reason, Rainbow Court had already activated its grand guardian array—almost like Elena knew I’d come looking for trouble. Everyone knows breaking that array is extremely difficult, so I came here hoping the Sect Master would join me in dealing with that bitch Elena.

That way, no other factions could swoop in and profit off our fight. I’m sure the Sect Master wants revenge for his son too, and deep down, your worries are the same as mine. As long as we unite, we won’t fear any sect!” said the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master.

“I need to discuss this with my wife. Of course we want revenge for our son, but Rainbow Court’s power isn’t any weaker than ours, and it has great relations with other top sects—especially the Shadow Divine Palace. If we really attack Rainbow Court, the Shadow Divine Palace will definitely get involved,” said the Skysoar Sect Master.

“The Shadow Divine Palace probably won’t intervene, because Rainbow Court has guests from Heavenblade Sect too. Maybe Heavenblade Sect will join in, and who knows—after this, there might be one less great power in the God Realm. Don’t worry, Sect Master. If we really take Rainbow Court down, Drifting Cloud Guild won’t claim a single thing. I just want justice for my son and to vent my anger,” said the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master.

The Skysoar Sect Master was about to say more, but Tia Thorn stopped him. “So what you’re proposing is an alliance between Skysoar Sect and Drifting Cloud Guild against Rainbow Court, right? If you’re sincere, Skysoar Sect will agree. How about this—ten days from now, we attack Rainbow Court together and show Elena what real power looks like!”

“Since sister-in-law says so, I’ll go back and get ready. Ten days from now, we’ll attack Rainbow Court together,” said the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master with a laugh.

“Pavilion Master, have a drink before you go. There’s no rush—there’s still a lot to discuss,” said the Skysoar Sect Master.

“Exactly! Since we’re forming an alliance, let’s treat this round of drinks as a celebration before the pact. Or are you going to turn me down?” Tia Thorn said with a smile, her eyes glinting as if she was hinting something to the Drifting Cloud Guild Pavilion Master…
