The Invisible Man

The whole arena was silent, as if everyone was still caught up in the shock of that slap. Yang Tian was both stunned and furious—he'd never been slapped by anyone, whether inside his family or outside, and this was the first time, by a woman who caught him off guard. His face changed dramatically. "You filthy woman!" he shouted.

Damien Darkmoon hurriedly pulled Yvonne back and spoke up, "Now everyone knows what happened, right? Just now, you tried to control my daughter. Well, your true colors are exposed. We really ought to thank the friend working behind the scenes."

The crowd looked at Yang Tian, their admiration from moments ago instantly turning to contempt. Seeing their changed gazes, Yang Tian grew even angrier. He glared coldly and said, "Emperor Damien, I'll remember this slap your daughter gave me. And whoever is hiding in the shadows—if I ever find out who you are, you won't get away with it."

He angrily tried to leave, but Damien Darkmoon wouldn't let him go so easily. With a cold snort, he said, "Yang Clan brat, your scheme failed and now you want to run off?"

"What do you want?" Yang Tian snapped, furious.

"Apologize to my daughter. You just insulted her," Damien said.

"Apologize? Not a chance. Emperor Damien, maybe you should worry about your daughter's safety instead," Yang Tian retorted, then walked away.

No one dared to stop him. Nangong Palace Lord and Elder Simon Spring quickly followed behind. To some, it was just entertainment, but to others, the scene carried much deeper meaning.

After Yvonne was brought back by Damien Darkmoon and Elder Lewis Lu, she was immediately questioned, "What happened?"

Yvonne explained everything that had happened. After hearing her story, Damien sighed, "Looks like that friend helped you again. He really has some skill—to actually break the opponent's control technique."

"Yes, if it weren't for him, maybe right now..." Yvonne shivered as she recalled what had happened earlier.

Damien said, "Alright, nothing more for now. Stay here and don't go out again—if you provoke the wrong people, it'll be trouble."

Yvonne, though unwilling, endured for now given what happened. With her settled, Damien turned to Elder Lewis Lu, "What do you think, Elder Lu?"

Elder Lewis Lu sighed, "That person always helps us from the shadows. He must be a good man. If only he could help us get more information about those Devil Realm emissaries."

Damien said, "No matter what, he's a benefactor of the Darkmoon family—he's helped us many times."

Elder Lewis Lu nodded, then said, "The Alliance's array masters will arrive soon. I'll go organize them. The other factions are in your hands for now—please keep the peace here."

Damien replied, "Alright, go ahead."

Elder Lewis Lu nodded and left.

After leaving, Terry Yang was looked down upon by many—his humiliation all stemming from today's events. Nangong Palace Lord naturally sided with him, inviting Terry to his quarters for a detailed discussion.

Nangong Palace Lord asked curiously, "Young Master Yang, what exactly happened?"

Terry Yang knew he was at fault, but he would never reveal the details of his technique. He just said, "The girl was usually obedient, but today, somehow, someone broke the control and even slapped me. Damn it."

Although Terry didn't explain why the girl was obedient, Nangong Palace Lord and Elder Simon Spring understood and didn't ask. Nangong Palace Lord asked curiously, "Who helped her from the shadows?"

"I don't know. I didn't sense anything at all. That person's strength must be extraordinary," Terry Yang said.

"Normally, with so much light radiating from her, we'd sense some energy transfer—but there was nothing. Could it be...?" Nangong Palace Lord wondered aloud.

"Could it be what?" Terry Yang and Elder Simon Spring asked in unison.

"Invisibility!" Nangong Palace Lord replied.

"Invisibility? Someone like that exists?" Terry Yang asked skeptically.

"Of course. Back then, the North Sect had such a person. You must have heard the legend—overnight, the North Sect went from powerful to weak," Nangong Palace Lord explained.

"I remember now," Terry Yang suddenly said.

"What did you remember, Young Master Yang?" Nangong Palace Lord asked curiously. Elder Simon Spring was also intrigued. Meanwhile, Zilong, disguised as a guard, was secretly shocked—could such a person really be here? If so, they might be connected to the puppet discovery. Thinking this, Zilong listened even more closely.

"My grandfather once told me the North Sect had a powerful expert who could change forms and even reach the realm of invisibility. No one could touch him, except an Immortal Sovereign. But that North Sect master offended two Heaven-Battling Clans, so they joined forces, sent their strongest, and swept away the North Sect in a single campaign," Terry Yang explained.

Nangong Palace Lord and Elder Simon Spring were both shocked—they hadn't expected the North Sect to disappear like that. While they knew the North Sect had offended powerful factions, they hadn't realized it was two Heaven-Battling Clans.

Zilong was also secretly shocked, feeling he'd heard a lot of useful things today. He told himself that following these three would surely help him find what he wanted.

"It seems this unpredictable, invisible realm is the North Sect's supreme technique. Though no one has seen it for years, it might have resurfaced—and is helping the Darkmoon family from the shadows," Nangong Palace Lord said after hearing Terry's explanation.

"Yeah, now that you mention it, that's probably the case," Terry Yang said.

"So what do we do now? If the opponent really is at the invisibility realm, we have no way to find him," Elder Simon Spring said with a frown.

"Young Master Yang, do you know how those people broke the invisibility art back then?" Nangong Palace Lord asked curiously.

"Back then, the two clans used many artifacts to break it. If we want to do the same, it'll be difficult," Terry Yang sighed.

Nangong Palace Lord and Elder Simon Spring exchanged glances. Though it didn't concern them directly, the presence of an invisible expert made them uneasy.

"Is there really no way?" Nangong Palace Lord asked again.
