VIP Treatment

2/14/2026

"Bro, how was the fun up there?"

Just as Fang You and Lynn Chen were feeling a bit uneasy, Zhang Heng—who still looked half-drunk—walked over with a humble smile as they got closer.

He first glanced at Summer Mu beside Evan Lin, and seeing no reaction from her, turned to Evan instead.

Evan looked at Zhang Heng with interest. "You brought so many people—aren't you here to settle the score with me?"

"No way! What are you saying!" Zhang Heng shook his head like a rattle drum.

In other people's eyes, Zhang Heng was considered quite accomplished for his age—barely in his twenties and already connected with big names from both sides of the law. But only Zhang Heng himself knew that all of this was thanks to the Summer Family.

Without the Summer Family, if he walked out of this manor today, ninety percent of his so-called connections would instantly become unreachable forever.

"I'm just here to welcome you, that's all!"

"Earlier, I was blind and offended you. Please, be generous and forgive me."

Zhang Heng bent at the waist, his smile as sincere as could be. As he spoke, he kept his head low and his posture submissive, terrified that a single misstep might anger Evan Lin.

"Brother Heng! What are you doing?"

Liam Li hurried forward, his face turning especially ugly when he saw Henry Zhang like this.

He'd been counting on Henry to step up and help teach Evan Lin a lesson.

"Yeah, Brother Heng! Aren't you supposed to beat this kid up?" Jason Zhao also came out, pointing at Evan Lin's nose, practically shouting.

"Who the hell are you? Do I need to report everything I do to you?"

Henry Zhang snapped his head around to glare at Jason, his face darkening and eyes flashing coldly, making Jason shiver all over.

"I'm letting that last comment slide since you're friends with Liam. Otherwise, just for what you said, I'd have someone break your legs!" Henry's gaze was downright vicious.

Everyone turned their eyes toward Jason.

"What kind of person are you, just hoping Evan gets beat up?" Yolanda Fang shot Jason a look of pure disdain. "Can't handle things yourself, so you want others to fight your battles? Pretty creative for a new student."

Yolanda snorted. Even she was startled by Henry's attitude.

Lynn Chen glanced at Jason but said nothing. The disappointment in her eyes was enough to send Jason's heart straight to rock bottom.

"Uh, Villa No. 2 has already been cleaned and prepared. Would you like to go rest now?" Henry Zhang turned to Evan Lin, his face all smiles again.

He couldn't have looked more friendly if he tried.

"Villa No. 2?"

Sisi Shao was stunned for a moment.

Before coming, Liam had told her that besides the main restaurant, there were three separate luxury villas behind it.

One villa was reserved for the Summer Family themselves, Villa No. 1. The other two were usually just for VIP guests.

Liam had tried to book one, but couldn't get it—probably because they were all full.

But now, Henry was inviting Evan to Villa No. 2?

Sisi wondered if she'd misheard and looked at Liam. Even he, who rarely showed emotion, was totally stunned.

Too many surprises today.

Why Evan Lin? What did he do to deserve this?

"Villa No. 2? What villa?"

Maggie Ma and the others looked confused—they clearly had no clue.

But just seeing how Henry treated Evan left them so shocked they couldn't even speak.

"Mm."

Evan Lin nodded slightly.

Henry sneaked a glance at Summer Mu beside Evan, saw him give a subtle nod, and finally relaxed a bit.

"Then please, follow me."

Henry grinned. "I'll have the banquet sent straight to your villa tonight."

"Hey, if you're living in a villa, are you really going to make Lynn and me sleep in some tiny room?" Yolanda tugged Evan's arm.

She couldn't stand being around Liam's group for another second.

Especially Jason Zhao—just looking at him made her sick.

"The villa's pretty big, with plenty of rooms. Everyone can fit."

Before Evan could answer, Henry jumped in.

He glanced at Lynn Chen and Yolanda Fang, eyes flickering with admiration.

One looked like the sweet girl next door, the other was fiery and playful—both the kind of girls guys dream about.

Evan heard Yolanda but couldn't be bothered to respond.

Watching Evan and the others walk off without even glancing back, Liam suddenly felt abandoned.

This was supposed to be his trip!

Evan Lin!

Liam gritted his teeth in frustration.

"Liam, what the hell is going on? Is your Brother Heng drunk or something?"

Once Henry led Evan's group away, Jason finally turned to Liam, clearly pissed off.

He'd originally left a good impression on Lynn Chen back at Imperial Grand by playing hero, but now that was completely gone.

He'd lost both the girl and the fight—apologizing probably wouldn't help now.

"Yeah, Liam, what's up with Brother Heng?" Maggie Ma asked, her voice a little nervous as she saw Liam's bad mood.

Standing at the resort gate, Maggie felt like a total clown.

Sisi Shao wanted to catch up, but seeing Yolanda dragging Lynn away, she stayed put and just looked at Liam, feeling even more uncertain.

Liam wasn't nearly as impressive as she'd imagined.

"I have no idea," Liam finally said after a long breath. "Normally, Brother Heng would never treat me like this."

"Something's definitely off."

Liam frowned. "Let's head back to the hotel. Sisi, you'll share my room tonight."

"No thanks, it's not a good time for me. I just want to sleep alone tonight," Sisi Shao shook her head.

Liam's face darkened even more. He looked at Sisi, then finally nodded. "Alright."

"Everyone, just get a good rest tonight. I'll talk to Brother Heng in private later, and once I know what's up, I'll let you all know."

From a distance, Liam watched Evan and the others, their shadows stretching long in the sunset glow.

Liam clenched his fists, eyes flickering.

The power dynamic had completely flipped: Evan was now getting VIP treatment, while Liam's borrowed status was falling apart right in front of everyone.
