Glowing Flowers

Evan Chu handed the porcelain bottle filled with blood to Luna Nangong and said, "Does this seem strange to you? I'll tell you the truth—my blood can neutralize poisons. This miasma is nasty, but to me it's nothing. If you get poisoned and feel weak, just drink some of this blood. I guarantee your symptoms will disappear instantly."

Luna Nangong looked at Evan Chu, half skeptical, "Big Brother Chu, why is your blood golden? I've never heard of that, and the fact that it can cure poison is just incredible."

"Luna, he's just a total weirdo. When you're with him, all sorts of bizarre things happen. You can't judge him by normal standards. Just take it—he's giving us all some anyway, otherwise he wouldn't have needed so many bottles. It's not easy to get him to bleed, you know. Didn't you see how deep his wound was? But now it's already healed, and in a bit there won't even be a scar." Yvonne Xuan laughed at this point.

Luna Nangong took the porcelain bottle and carefully put it into her storage ring. "Thank you, Big Brother Chu. You really are amazing. With your blood, we can really explore Falling-Sun Gorge without worry."

Evan Chu just smiled, then used the Frostbane Divine Sword to slice open his wrist again, letting more blood drip into a porcelain bottle. He repeated this three more times before stopping, handing the bottles to Yvonne Xuan and the other two, then said, "This is a real loss—so much blood, even eating three hundred eggs wouldn’t make up for it."

The four women all rolled their eyes at him, then burst out laughing—especially Luna Nangong, who hadn’t expected Evan Chu to have such a funny side.

"Jade, slowly spread out your divine sense and see if there's anything unusual about Falling-Sun Gorge. Now that the miasma doesn't affect us, maybe we can figure out how it forms," Evan Chu said.

The Emerald Immortal Empress nodded and began to extend her divine sense, but she did it slowly—there seemed to be some invisible resistance here, stopping her from expanding her sense quickly. She was startled by this.

After a while, the Emerald Immortal Empress said, "Master, there’s definitely something strange about Falling-Sun Gorge. My divine sense can only cover a few miles around us, and if I try to go further, it gets blocked. Of the four directions, the resistance is strongest to the east—I think there must be something unusual over there."

Evan Chu glanced at the Emerald Immortal Empress and saw that her face was actually covered in sweat. Just spreading her divine sense had made her break out in a sweat—something that had never happened before. "Jade, are you alright? You're actually drenched."

"I'm fine, just a bit worn out from earlier. I'll be alright in a moment. Should we go check the east side?" she asked.

"Of course! If even Jade’s divine sense can’t reach that area, it must be super mysterious. Maybe the secret of Falling-Sun Gorge is hidden there. Let’s go!" Evan Chu said with a smile.

So Evan Chu and the others began weaving through the sea of flowers, though none of them moved very fast. The scenery around them was so enchanting that it made them want to linger.

After about half an hour, Evan Chu realized that the five of them had only covered a little over five miles. With their speed, that made no sense—it was as if they’d been circling around, or maybe caught in an illusion.

When it came to illusions, Tom Chu was the expert—but unfortunately, he was stuck inside the Timewheel Bracelet right now, and getting him out would be a hassle. Evan Chu felt a bit frustrated by this.

"Let’s all stop. No matter how much we walk, we’re just wandering around the same area. We must be inside an illusion or some kind of formation. We’ll need to break it to get out. Did any of you notice anything unusual?" Evan Chu asked.

Jade was an expert in formations, and Yvonne Xuan was skilled with illusions. With the two of them here, Evan Chu felt reassured—at least he wouldn’t have to crack it himself.

"This really does feel like an illusion, but the area is so huge and it’s so realistic that I can’t find the array eye at all. Every formation or illusion should have an array eye, or rather, illusions are just a type of formation. We have to find the array eye to get out," Jade said.

"This illusion doesn’t attack, and it even lets people retrace their steps. That’s the weirdest part—I wonder what the person who set it up was trying to do. Why block people from going deeper? Is there really some secret ahead?" Yvonne Xuan said.

Everyone fell silent, thinking it over. After a while, the Emerald Immortal Empress opened her eyes and looked around. "This illusion is really powerful. I feel like I’ve read about it somewhere, but I just can’t remember. One thing’s for sure: no one in the Immortal Realm could have set this up."

"Not someone from the Immortal Realm? Then it must be a God-Realm expert. How could a God-Realm illusion appear here? What was their purpose—were they trying to hide some secret behind this illusion? And how did they even get to the Immortal Realm?" Evan Chu said in shock.

"We don’t know either. Maybe we’ll only find out once we break through this illusion," Jade said.

Time passed slowly, and before they knew it, night had fallen. Evan Chu and his group hadn’t found anything, but none of them felt weak, which meant they hadn’t been poisoned.

Luna Nangong said that Falling-Sun Gorge was even more beautiful at night, but right now it was pitch dark, which left everyone puzzled.

"I know what you’re all thinking. Don’t worry—just wait for the moon to come out and you’ll see. I promise it’ll blow your minds," Luna Nangong said.

Another hour or so passed, and then the moon rose overhead. Its clear light poured down, covering all of Falling-Sun Gorge—and as the moonlight shone, something amazing happened.

The gorge floor, which had been pitch black, was suddenly dotted with countless flowers glowing softly in all different colors. The sight was so stunning that Evan Chu and the others were left speechless.

After a while, Jade said, "These flowers weren’t planted randomly—they were deliberately arranged. And the glowing must have some special reason, but I just can’t figure out the breakthrough point yet."

Evan Chu kept thinking about why the flowers glowed under the moonlight. Suddenly, he had an idea and flew into the air. He hadn’t expected anything, but when he looked down, he was shocked.

"Quick, fly up and take a look! The light from these flowers seems to form words—or maybe runes!" Evan Chu shouted.

The four women flew up and looked down at the softly glowing flowers. Sure enough, just as Evan Chu said, the flowers formed words and runes. As for what they meant, no one could figure it out right away...
