Eating Together

1/4/2026

Even though Cecilia Gu didn't like this man, she had to admit that he looked good no matter what he was eating.

Someone beside her handed Cecilia a towel. She took it, wiped her hands, and returned it. Following Charles Yin's usual habits, the attendant wiped three towels in succession before pulling out a chair for Cecilia.

Cecilia could only sit across from Charles Yin. After hesitating for a moment, she said, "You really didn't have to come."

Charles Yin elegantly wiped the corner of his mouth and replied, "The moment I decided to marry you, this became my duty. Of course, it's only a duty."

Cecilia understood what Charles Yin meant, so she didn't argue and quietly ate the food the chef had given her.

Charles Yin glanced at her coldly and said, "You've already eaten three pieces of salmon."

The chef immediately took away the plate of salmon after hearing this.

Cecilia couldn't help but laugh and cry. "You even care about what I eat?"

"Of course I don't care what you eat, but I can't ignore the child in your belly." Charles Yin looked up at the chef and said, "Bring her the ginseng soup that's been simmering."

Cecilia was about to refuse when her phone suddenly rang. She glanced at the number, and a trace of sadness flashed in her eyes.

She flipped her phone over, screen down on the table, and the ringing stopped immediately.

"Why aren't you answering the call?" Charles Yin raised an eyebrow.

Cecilia lowered her head and continued eating. "It's just an irrelevant call."

An irrelevant call? If it was really irrelevant, why did it make her look so sad?

Charles Yin just glanced at Cecilia but didn't say anything more.

The two of them just ate in silence.

After Charles Yin finished eating, he left immediately. When the chefs cleared the plates, Cecilia finally picked up her phone and saw several missed calls.

Seeing that familiar name, Cecilia felt a mix of emotions in her heart.

Ever since that night when she slept with the wrong man, she hadn't answered a single call from Zach Zhao or replied to any of his messages.

Her attitude was already clear enough, so why wouldn't he give up? Why did he keep pretending nothing had happened, calling her again and again, telling her about interesting things abroad?

Had he never suspected that she had changed?

Why?

If only he would disappear too. Maybe then, she'd feel a lot better.

But for two months straight, he called and messaged every day. Watching him talk to himself, her heart felt like it was being cut by a knife.

In the evening, Charles Yin came over again. As usual, a group of chefs followed with dinner.

Maybe it was because she was in a bad mood that afternoon, but Cecilia didn't have much of an appetite.

Charles Yin glanced at Cecilia. "Is the food not to your liking?"

Cecilia shook her head. "No, I'm just not very hungry."

Charles Yin's handsome brows furrowed slightly. He reached out his right hand, and someone immediately handed him an exquisite cloisonné porcelain bowl.

Charles Yin scooped up a spoonful of bird's nest and brought it to Cecilia's lips.

Cecilia was stunned. She never expected Charles Yin would actually feed her himself!

"Nothing can happen to this child. Eat it!" His commanding tone shattered any romantic illusions.

Cecilia wanted to refuse, but she had no right to say no. She could only open her mouth and eat against her will.

The chefs standing by almost popped their eyes out in shock!

The CEO was always cold and distant with women! For him to feed a woman himself—this was a first!

The young madam really is different. The CEO truly cares about her.

After two bites, Cecilia's face suddenly changed. She covered her mouth, pulled out her chair, and rushed to the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of the toilet flushing came from the bathroom.

Charles Yin frowned slightly. When Cecilia came out of the bathroom, he said, "Even if you don't want to eat, you still have to. You may not care about going hungry, but I'm worried about the Yin family's fourth generation!"

Cecilia glanced at Charles Yin. She knew he wasn't joking, so she silently took the bowl and forced herself to swallow the food, bite by bite.

What is this stuff? It tastes awful!

Seriously, what's with rich people? How can they eat something so disgusting and actually enjoy it?

Seeing Cecilia obediently finish the bird's nest, Charles Yin finally showed a satisfied smile.

Several chefs looked at each other, unable to help wiping their eyes.

Oh my god, the CEO actually smiled! He really smiled!

For several days in a row, Charles Yin came to the hospital room to eat with Cecilia.

It was only then that Cecilia realized Charles Yin was coming to the hospital to eat with her because the chairman had ordered him to.

Cecilia gave a self-mocking smile. Of course, she and Charles Yin only ended up together by accident—there were no real feelings between them. Why would he willingly come to eat with her?

Besides, just smelling those dishes made her want to throw up. How could he not be disgusted hearing her retch?
