This Is His Child

1/4/2026

After three consecutive days, Cecilia Gu was starting to get used to Charles Yin coming over to eat with her.

Maybe it was these three days of routine, but even Charles Yin, who was initially uncomfortable, was slowly getting used to it.

After work, he didn’t need Grandma Evelyn Yin to remind him—he’d already driven to the hospital to eat with Cecilia Gu.

Today, Charles Yin arrived a little early, so it wasn’t quite mealtime yet.

As soon as Charles Yin got out of the car, he saw the woman in the glass window, smiling as she trimmed a camellia.

From the first time he met this woman, she was either expressionless or quietly crying.

He never knew that her smile could be so beautiful.

She was completely different from Dina. Dina was bold and sexy, but Cecilia was quietly radiant, like the camellia in her hand—its fragrance lingering, unforgettable.

Cecilia Gu smiled and said to the long line of nurses behind her, "This camellia needs to be kept in a cool, shady place to grow well. Tea plants like shade and moisture. Too much sun isn’t good for them."

"Young Madam, you know so much!" After several days together, everyone had gotten familiar, and the conversation was starting to flow.

"Because my grandma loves gardening too. If the flowers don't do well, my mom gets blamed..." Cecilia Gu paused, then said, "It's nothing. After a while, you just learn these things."

Just then, Cecilia Gu heard someone behind her repeatedly greeting, "Good evening, CEO."

Cecilia Gu was taken aback. It wasn’t even mealtime yet—why was he here already?

Charles Yin walked over, glanced at the camellia Cecilia had just trimmed, his narrow eyes hiding emotions no one could read.

"You like flowers? Tell them to put more fresh flowers in the room." After saying this, Charles Yin walked right past Cecilia.

Cecilia Gu stood there, stunned. What did he mean by that?

After Charles Yin left, a young nurse couldn't help but whisper excitedly, "The CEO is so nice to Young Madam!"

Cecilia Gu could only smile bitterly inside. He wasn’t being nice to her—he was being nice to the baby in her belly!

Just then, the attending doctor walked over with a smile and said to Cecilia, "Young Madam, it's time for your routine checkup!"

Cecilia nodded and cooperatively followed them back to her room.

This was a daily checkup—Cecilia Gu was already used to it.

But for Charles Yin, it was his first time witnessing it.

When the sound of the fetal heartbeat echoed clearly in the room, Charles Yin’s eyes lit up and he couldn’t help but ask, "What’s that sound? Is it the baby’s heartbeat?"

The attending doctor smiled and replied, "Yes, that’s the baby’s heartbeat. Listen—how strong and steady! The baby is very healthy. It looks like Young Madam’s careful recovery is finally paying off."

Hearing this, Cecilia Gu felt something strange stir inside her.

That feeling of blood connection was growing stronger and stronger.

The little baby in her belly was slowly growing, slowly taking shape.

Cecilia Gu, who hadn’t felt much for this child before, now found herself filled with anticipation and joy as she listened to the heartbeat.

Standing off to the side, Charles Yin’s eyes flickered. He didn’t say a word, but the surprise in his gaze was impossible to hide.

This was his child!

A single thought flashed through Charles Yin’s mind.

After the checkup, Charles Yin’s usually cold expression seemed much softer.

At dinner, Charles Yin did something unusual—he didn’t have the chef serve the meal separately. Instead, he personally picked up a carefully cooked rib and placed it in Cecilia Gu’s bowl. "Eat more. You’re too thin."

The chefs stared in shock. The CEO was actually serving her food? Unbelievable!

Everyone knew the CEO was a bit of a germaphobe! He would never do something so likely to mix saliva!

Cecilia Gu really didn’t want to eat, but since Charles Yin had served her, she didn’t dare refuse.

As soon as Cecilia took a bite, her stomach churned.

"Don’t like meat?" Charles Yin immediately placed some broccoli in Cecilia’s bowl. "Then eat more vegetables."

Cecilia’s eyes flickered. What was up with Charles Yin today? Was he possessed?

Thinking of what Charles Yin had said a few days ago, Cecilia’s gaze dimmed.

He was only doing all this for his child, wasn’t he?

Who was she, really? Why would he go out of his way to serve her food?

Cecilia obediently ate the broccoli Charles Yin had served her. Since she’d decided to have this child, she might as well take care of her nutrition.

During the afternoon checkup, she’d already made up her mind to eat well and nourish herself.

Seeing Cecilia eat the food he’d served, a look of satisfaction flashed in Charles Yin’s eyes.

The next day at noon, Grandma Evelyn Yin came by too. Seeing Charles Yin dutifully accompany Cecilia Gu for meals just as she’d instructed, she nodded in approval.

After lunch, the attending doctor came to report on the week’s observations.
