Going Home

"After a week of recuperation, Mrs. Yin is in perfect health. She just needs to continue with good nutrition and she can be discharged." The attending physician smiled warmly at Charles Yin. "Here are all the medical reports. Mrs. Yin can leave the hospital any time."

Charles Yin glanced at the report and nodded. "Just leave it there."

After everyone else left, Charles Yin handed the report to Grandma Evelyn Yin. She looked through it carefully and said, "Since your health is fine, we'll go to your family tomorrow to propose. The baby is growing, so it's better to get married as soon as possible."

Charles Yin frowned slightly. "Grandma, isn't it a bit too soon to get married?"

Cecilia Gu didn't want to get married so soon either. She felt that once she did, there would be no turning back.

Grandma Evelyn Yin glanced calmly at her grandson. How could she not know what Charles was thinking? She said lightly, "In just over ten days, the Chairman and his wife from the Korean Consortium will visit China. They've specifically requested to meet you and your wife together. If you don't get married, what identity will Cecilia have to meet them?"

Grandma Evelyn Yin's words instantly reminded Charles Yin of the situation.

Although Charles really didn't want to get married so soon, his personal matters seemed insignificant compared to the company's big affairs.

Alex drove a very understated Phaeton, loaded up Cecilia's bags, and took her home.

Even though Cecilia insisted it wasn't necessary, Alex thoughtfully brought gifts for everyone in her family.

Alex was very tactful, knowing exactly what to say and do.

After delivering the gifts to Cecilia's family, Alex left right away.

Cecilia glanced at Charles with a look of resistance. He caught her gaze, and felt a flash of annoyance.

He didn't want to get married—that was one thing. But her reluctance was another matter entirely.

Charles, who had been resistant, suddenly felt that maybe his grandmother was right. For some reason, he thought the marriage should happen as soon as possible.

Seeing both Grandma Evelyn Yin and Charles so determined, Cecilia realized she had no room to argue.

Well, at this point, what was left to resist? Marriage was inevitable—sooner or later, it didn't really matter anymore.

She just didn't want to go home with such a big entourage—it would scare her mom.

It would be best if she had a buffer, a chance to give her mom a heads-up so she wouldn't be hurt by the sudden news.

After sorting out her thoughts, Cecilia said, "Chairman, can I... can I not go back with the Yin family? Could I go home first and talk to my family?"

"No! You're not alone anymore, and nothing can happen to the baby." Grandma Evelyn Yin refused firmly. "You won't lose any dignity, and all you need to do is focus on having this child safely."

Cecilia quickly assured Grandma Evelyn Yin, "I know the Yin family's status and wealth will never wrong me—I don't doubt that at all. I just don't want to scare my mom. I want to go home and give them a heads-up. I promise nothing will happen to me!"

Seeing Grandma Evelyn Yin's firm attitude, Cecilia instinctively looked up at Charles with pleading eyes.

She didn't even know why she turned to Charles. Maybe it was because there were only three people in the room, or maybe it was something else. She just did it.

When Charles saw Cecilia look at him like that for the first time, he suddenly remembered her smile yesterday evening, standing by the camellias, trimming the branches. Without thinking, he said, "Grandma, she's not a child. She knows what she's doing."

Hearing her grandson speak up, Grandma Evelyn Yin smiled softly, seeming pleased with their understanding. "Such a filial child. Fine, you can go home and give them a heads-up. But as the Yin family's young madam, you can't go alone. Charles, the assistant who brought Cecilia to the hospital is bold and careful—let him take her home."

"I'll do whatever Grandma says." Charles raised an eyebrow, watching Cecilia's relieved expression, a hint of something unreadable in his eyes.

Having finally convinced Grandma Evelyn Yin, Cecilia quickly packed up and got ready to leave.

Xiao A drove a very understated Phaeton, loaded up Cecilia's bags, and took her home.

Even though Cecilia insisted it wasn't necessary, Xiao A thoughtfully brought gifts for everyone in her family.

Xiao A was very tactful, knowing exactly what to say and do.

After delivering the gifts to Cecilia's family, he left right away.

"Grandma, these are for the family. Please distribute them as you wish." Cecilia put the things down and straightened up.
