Rona Muir Is Pursued Again

1/4/2026

Today, Molly Yun rarely came to the company. Before she could even get upstairs, she saw a very handsome young man holding a big box, standing at the front desk.

The receptionists all seemed to know him well.

Two girls saw him and their faces flushed with excitement.

Oh, if she guessed correctly, that must be Lucas Lin.

Molly Yun paused, then turned and walked toward Lucas Lin.

The young receptionist saw Molly Yun approach and quickly greeted her, "Ms. Yun."

Molly Yun smiled at them, then turned to Lucas Lin. "Mr. Lin?"

"I'm Lucas Lin. And you are?" Lucas Lin looked at her suspiciously.

Although she looked ordinary at first glance, the details gave away that her outfit was high-end and not something regular people could afford.

"I'm Molly Yun, CFO of Danni Cosmetics." Molly Yun smiled and said, "Do you have time to chat?"

"Sure." As soon as Lucas Lin heard her title, he understood immediately. "I'm free today."

Molly Yun smiled and nodded.

He really was a very clever young man.

Good-looking, well-behaved, and sensible.

No wonder everyone liked him.

It's no surprise he's so popular.

At that moment, one of Cecilia Gu's bodyguards hurried over and nodded at Molly Yun.

Molly Yun immediately understood what Cecilia Gu meant.

She couldn't help but laugh.

After her recent incident, her family had been extremely worried. Now, whenever she wanted to meet with outsiders, they insisted on sending people with her—no way would they let her be alone.

After all, Adrian wasn't dead—he could come back any time to fight for the child.

Still, Molly Yun didn't regret killing Adrian by the lake.

If everything Grandma said about history was true, she really shouldn't have killed Adrian.

If the Yun family got hit with backlash, that'd be bad news.

So, she had to be extra careful in the days ahead.

Molly Yun didn't go far—she just invited Lucas Lin to her private meeting room.

After the secretary brought in some tea and left, it was just Molly Yun, Lucas Lin, and Cecilia Gu's bodyguard in the room.

"Ms. Yun, just ask whatever you want." Lucas Lin was set on being honest about his feelings for Rona Muir—if he missed this chance, he might never get another.

Molly Yun liked his guts, so she didn't beat around the bush. "I heard from Cecilia—you like Rona?"

"Yes," Lucas Lin answered sincerely.

But Rona's already married, and her kid's three years old." Molly Yun smiled, "Are you sure you want to get involved in someone else's marriage?"

Lucas Lin looked straight at Molly Yun and said firmly, "But they're living apart now. It's not like I don't have a chance, right? Everyone has the right to chase love, don't they?"

So, you're really into Rona—it's not for some other reason?" Molly Yun smiled. "You know, as the CEO of Danni Cosmetics, she gets tons of people throwing themselves at her every year. What makes you think you can get her to leave her family for you?"

Lucas Lin gave a wry smile. "I'm not confident."

Molly Yun just smiled at him, waiting for him to go on.

Lucas Lin put his hands on the table, eyes shining. "I know what you want to ask. All I can say is, I really like—no, I've had a crush on Rona for a while. She doesn't even know, but here I am admitting it to Mrs. Yin and you. It's because I want to fight for a chance—I don't want to give up. You've probably checked my background; you know where I come from. Yeah, I got famous because someone sponsored me, and I'm not exactly squeaky clean. I'm not the best or most talented guy out there—plenty of guys are cleaner, plenty are better looking. But I still stubbornly want to go after her. It's not about confidence; I just know if I don't try, I'll regret it forever."

I don't even dare hope she'll respond to my feelings—I just want to love someone, that's all." Lucas Lin said openly, "People might say I'm just trying to climb the social ladder or looking for a rich sponsor, but let me clear that up: I'm not. I don't want anything from Rona—not money, not resources. I just... want to love her, for real."

I know I'm not much—no real advantages except maybe my face, and even that's not a big deal. There are tons of good-looking guys out there. The CEO of Yin Group, Mr. Mo from the Mo family—they're way more handsome than me. So even my only advantage isn't really one. Someone as ordinary as me still has feelings, still falls for someone. People might laugh, but so what?

But so what? Even someone like me can fall for someone. Ms. Yun, I know you're kind—you won't look down on me or mock me for being a 'toad chasing a swan,' so I'm telling you all this. If Rona rejects me, I'll be sad, but I won't bother her. I just want to quietly be good to her, like you quietly take care of Mrs. Yin. No strings attached.

Molly Yun instantly got what he meant.

He really was an interesting guy.

He knew exactly what was in his heart.

But he still stubbornly dove right in.

Molly Yun exchanged a glance with the bodyguard. Both were good at reading micro-expressions—Molly had studied them too.

They could tell Lucas Lin was being sincere—not lying or pretending.

In other words, Lucas Lin really was into Rona Muir—not just after her resources.

It really was... moving.

Molly Yun gently touched her belly and said softly, "Knowing it's impossible but still going for it—knowing you'll get burned but still diving in. That's not what smart people do."

"Everyone should love fearlessly at least once," Lucas Lin said with a smile. "You know, showbiz is always full of drama. If I use my one true love on someone outside the industry, maybe that's my way of protecting myself."

Molly Yun got what he meant and couldn't help laughing. "Are you really that pessimistic about your future?"

Lucas Lin just laughed too, not bothering to explain.

"That's true." Molly Yun thought for a moment, then said, "Everyone should love wholeheartedly at least once in their life. Since you've made up your mind, I won't try to stop you. All I can say is—good luck."

"Thank you, Ms. Yun." Lucas Lin pulled out his chair and bowed deeply to Molly Yun. "Thank you for not stopping me, and thank you for supporting me."

"But whether Rona accepts your feelings is up to her." Molly Yun reminded him, "Rona and Jiro Hirayama are only having a misunderstanding—their marriage is still strong."

"I understand." Lucas Lin smiled even brighter.

"Alright, I won't keep you any longer." Molly Yun stood up slowly and said to Lucas Lin, "I'll be busy catching up on work at the company for a while, and Rona will be taking a short vacation."

With that, Molly Yun left the meeting room with the bodyguard.

Lucas Lin smiled right away.

He got what Molly Yun meant.

With Rona taking time off, he'd have a chance to get closer to her.

No matter how things turned out, he wouldn't regret it!

Molly Yun went back to her office and was met by Cecilia Gu's nosy look.

Molly Yun shot Cecilia Gu a glare. "I knew you weren't thinking about work!"

Cecilia Gu giggled, hooked her arm around Molly Yun, and said, "Sis, tell me—Lucas Lin isn't just messing around, is he? He's been dropping off all sorts of gifts lately, and honestly, Rona's mood has gotten way better."

"It's true." Molly Yun nodded. "Me and your bodyguard both checked—Lucas Lin really does have feelings for Rona. Sigh, why does Rona always attract these young guys?"

"Right? Over the years, there's always been some twenty-something kid secretly crushing on her."

Rona Muir's always been a goddess—after having a kid, she's even more stunning.

Every smile and frown—she's just breathtaking.

She's not that naive girl anymore—now she's a total knockout.

She easily catches the eye of those twenty-something guys.

There were always guys trying to get close to her, but Rona just ignored them.

But now Lucas Lin's shown up, and he's got serious fighting spirit.

Hirayama's finally met a real rival.

Who knew Sean Kerr wasn't enough to challenge Hirayama, but now Lucas Lin's come along—he might really test their relationship." Molly Yun sipped her fresh tea and said calmly, "Let's just watch the drama unfold."

Yeah, things are about to get pretty interesting.

With Molly Yun back, the weight on Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir's shoulders got a lot lighter.

Everyone knew how capable Molly Yun was.

But to keep Molly from getting worn out, they decided to hire more staff to ease their workload.

That way, all three of them could relax a bit.

Just as Rona was wondering whether to go home, Lucas Lin called: "Rona, are you free? Haven't seen you in a while—I've been worried about you."

Rona still had no idea how Lucas Lin felt—her friends were all keeping quiet, wanting to see what he'd do.

So Rona said right away, "Sure, I'm free today. Let's grab a meal."
