This unexpected visitor didn't surprise Cecilia Gu at all.
The person who came was Lucas Lin.
This time, Lucas Lin wasn't here to ask about Rona Muir. He simply handed a large box to Cecilia Gu.
"I didn't know who else to ask for help, so I had to come to you." Lucas Lin smiled politely as always. "I know she doesn't want to see anyone right now. I'm worried about her, but I don't want to make things harder for her. These are just some little things I've collected—not worth much, but good for passing the time. Could I trouble Mrs. Yin to deliver them for me?"
Before Cecilia Gu could refuse, Lucas Lin had already bowed to thank her.
Cecilia Gu really couldn't bring herself to say no.
She's always been a soft-hearted person.
"I have to go film now. I was just passing by," Lucas Lin said, pointing at himself. "Please take care of these for me. Thank you!"
With that, Lucas Lin said goodbye and left.
Cecilia Gu opened the box and found a few books, some video game discs, and a bunch of odd little trinkets—all things for killing time and relaxing.
Looks like Lucas Lin really put some thought into this.
Cecilia Gu could tell Lucas Lin truly cared about Rona Muir.
But...
Whatever, I'll just deliver the stuff. Whether she accepts it or not is up to Rona.
So, Cecilia Gu took the whole box to the apartment.
Sure enough, when Rona Muir heard that Lucas Lin had collected all these things just to comfort her, her eyes flickered with emotion.
Cecilia Gu lounged on the sofa and said, "Rona, you're pretty impressive. Thirty years old and still have the young guys falling head over heels for you."
"Hirayama is four years younger than me. He was a pretty boy back then too," Rona Muir retorted. "My charm works at any age!"
"Yes, yes, yes." Cecilia Gu playfully bowed. "Sister Rona, you're amazing!"
"Get out!" Rona Muir rolled her eyes at Cecilia Gu.
Honestly, after a few days in this apartment, Rona Muir had gotten her emotions under control. She wasn't breaking down and crying like she did that day anymore.
Now, Rona was basically back to her old decisive self—the powerful President Mu.
Cecilia Gu said seriously, "I came here today to bring you some news."
"What is it?" Rona asked casually. "Don't tell me Jiro Hirayama killed Amy just to prove his innocence."
"Amy was killed, but not by Jiro Hirayama," Cecilia explained.
Rona froze. "Amy is dead?!"
Cecilia Gu nodded.
"I just got the news myself," Cecilia said. "I don't know the details yet, and I haven't been officially notified. All I know is Amy is definitely dead—and it was a 'house cleaning.'"
"You mean Captain Hans is here?" Rona sat up straight. "Why did he come?"
"Captain Hans already met with Jiro Hirayama," Cecilia confirmed. "But he didn't stick around. After greeting Charles Yin, he quietly left. Looks like he came just to clean house. Amy... was a double agent, and Captain Hans took her out."
Rona's jaw dropped. She was at a loss for words.
What started as a simple cheating scandal had suddenly turned into a spy drama.
This plot twist was a bit much.
Now that Amy was dead, Rona didn't know how to face Jiro Hirayama anymore.
"Is Jiro still coming to see you?" Rona asked.
"He is. Every day he waits outside my office door, just staring at me all sad and silent," Cecilia said, exasperated. "Funny thing is, that's how we first met—he waited outside, played a game of chess with me, and we became friends. Seeing him camp out there again, I can't help but think of how stubborn he is."
"I see," Rona nodded.
"So how long are you going to hide?" Cecilia asked. "Now that Amy's gone, no one's gossiping about you anymore. In fact, everyone says Jiro's a real man—he killed the mistress for his wife."
"We'll see." Rona lowered her eyes. "I still don't want to see him. Every time I do, I remember that morning—Amy and him, half-dressed. Cici, I have my limits too."
"I get it," Cecilia said. "Whenever you're ready, just let me know."
In the days that followed, Lucas Lin kept sending things over from time to time.
Of course, everything went through Cecilia Gu.
Just like that, half a month flew by.
The weather was getting hotter and hotter.
Right around then, there was finally news about Molly Yun.
She finally managed to get word out, and thanks to Cecilia Gu's understanding of her sister, they were able to pinpoint Molly Yun's exact location.
Rona Muir was so happy when she heard the news that she forgot about her own feelings and rushed out the door—she wanted to go with Cecilia Gu to welcome Molly Yun back.
As soon as they got to the Yin Family house, Rona saw Jiro Hirayama squatting in the yard, drawing circles on the ground.
"Rona!" Jiro Hirayama's eyes lit up when he saw her. He jumped up and hurried over, excited. "I found evidence to prove my innocence! Look, these are the medical reports for Amy and me!"
Jiro pulled out a thick stack of documents and shoved them at Rona, desperate for her to see. "I didn't touch her! Besides, when a man is really drunk, he can't do anything!"
Rona didn't even want to listen.
Seriously, what was he even saying?
"Amy got close to me, not because she wanted to be my lover, but to steal my formula," Jiro said, looking pitifully at Rona. "That's why she's dead."
"We'll talk about your issues later. I'm here for Molly. Move." Rona brushed off Jiro's hand and went inside without another word.
Seeing Jiro about to follow, Rona immediately said, "Don't follow me. If you do, I'll never see you again!"

Jiro froze, watching Rona go inside, left standing in the yard.
Charles Yin came in from outside, saw the scene, and just shook his head in silence.
When it comes to couples' problems, it's better if he doesn't get involved.
Molly Yun slowly managed to get messages out, and finally confirmed the date for the final action.
