I Still Have to Meet Your Majesty the Demon Emperor
Noctis looked her up and down, his brows twitching slightly. "You're not afraid of me anymore?"
Lily Bai grinned. "When was I ever scared of you?"
Noctis's brows twitched again. He reached out, gesturing for her to hand over Little Shrimp.
Lily handed him over without a second thought.
He gave a brief smile, then turned and left.
Faustin and Nine Li exchanged glances and let out a simultaneous sigh of relief.
Thank the heavens! He's finally leaving!
These past days, they've done their best to keep their cool, but only they know how nerve-wracking it's really been.
But just then, Lily suddenly called out, "High Lord!"
Noctis stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her.
Bobby Bai nodded obediently, and in a blink, the two of them vanished.
"Lily! You just jabbed his sore spot—why didn’t he freak out and lose his temper?" Faustin eyed her suspiciously.
"Who says poking someone’s sore spot always makes them mad?" Lily shot back playfully.
"He’s usually so irritable, and his heart’s full of knots. If anyone else said that, he’d have killed them!" Faustin exclaimed. "What did you say to calm him down?"
Lily Bai shook her head and grinned. "I told him... time is a butcher’s knife."
Faustin’s jaw dropped. "Huh?"
Lily Bai grinned, "Master, since Noctis came to you for a fortune reading, what did you see in his fate?"
Faustin blinked, confused. "Wait, what did you mean by that? What butcher’s knife?"
"Nothing, Master! I just meant, you look younger every time I see you!" Lily Bai beamed. "Come on, tell me—what did you see in his fate?"
Faustin shook his head. "It’s hard to read! Maybe his cultivation is too high? I spent days trying, and all I could see were fragments—like humble origins and lucky encounters. But as for his future, I just can’t get a clear answer!"
"Yeah... I think his fate’s impossible to read too," Lily Bai agreed.
"Lily, you seem a little off today," Faustin said, studying her.
"What’s weird about me?" Lily Bai asked, smoothing her clothes.
Faustin said nothing.
Lily Bai smiled. "Master, I’m going to check on my junior brothers and sisters. They’ve been trapped in there for months."
"Go ahead! See how they’re doing—they’ve been stuck in that array for ages," Faustin said supportively.
Lily Bai nodded.
"Senior Sister, you sure you’re just going to see them?" Nine Li grinned at her.
"I’m also going to see Your Majesty the Demon Emperor, so what?" Lily Bai shot back, giving him a sideways look.
Nine Li gave her a thumbs up. "Boss!"
"When you see our Emperor, ask him for me—how much longer do I have to stay stuck at the Sigil Sect?" someone suddenly called out from behind.
Lily Bai turned around and saw Baxia.
