Maybe She Saw a Bird

There was an empty clearing on the Back Mountain.

A Taiji diagram was drawn on the ground.

Several racks were set up around, though their purpose was unclear.

Lily Bai stood at the center of the Eight Trigrams, glanced up at the sky, and smiled in satisfaction.

Then she started installing mirrors on those racks, looking busy as ever.

"What is she doing?" Jenna Summers asked, puzzled.

Jason Xiao shook his head.

"Why was she just smiling at the sky?" Jenna still felt uneasy. "Is there something up there?"

"Other than the sun and clouds, what else could be up there?" Jason said. "Maybe she saw a bird?"

"Why is she putting mirrors everywhere?" Jenna was beyond confused.

"How would I know?"

After Lily Bai bustled about for a while, she glanced at the sky again—and then, out of nowhere… started undressing.

Her movements were downright seductive.

Honestly, Lily Bai was a jaw-dropping beauty—when she turned on the charm, no man could resist.

Jason Xiao's eyes went wide; he stared at her without blinking.

Jenna's face instantly darkened. She spat out, word by word, "What the hell is she doing?! Why fill the place with mirrors and then start stripping? Is she planning to admire her own body from every possible angle?"

"Just watch and you'll see!" Jason snapped, annoyed by her nagging. "Why do you talk so much? Shut up!"

As the couple bickered, Lily Bai started taking off a second layer of clothing.

She slowly undid the buttons, her robe falling open to reveal a pure white inner garment...

Jason Xiao was practically glued to the screen, unconsciously swallowing hard.

Jenna glared at Jason, and seeing the look in his eyes, she was absolutely furious...

Suddenly, without warning, the Surveillance Talisman flashed.

The light was so intense that Jenna instinctively squeezed her eyes shut and raised her hand to shield them.

At the same time, she heard Jason scream, "Ah! My eyes! My eyes!"

Jenna panicked and quickly asked, "What happened? What's going on?"

"I can't see! I can't see anything! I'm blind!" Jason's eyes were wide open, but he couldn't see a thing.

Turns out, as Lily Bai was undressing, the Surveillance Talisman suddenly unleashed a blinding flash.

The light was so strong, it literally burned out Jason's eyesight.

Jenna looked at the Surveillance Talisman again—the image was gone.

...

Lily Bai curled her lips into a mischievous smile and used a spell to put her clothes back on.

The Surveillance Talisman is linked to the caster's eye meridians, then projects the image outward.

If the other party's eye meridians are damaged, the Surveillance Talisman automatically becomes useless.

On her way to the Sigil Sect, she'd been pondering how to make the watcher stare unblinkingly at the talisman feed.

After a lot of thinking, she decided to use herself as bait.

After all, everyone always said she was gorgeous, right?

So why not use herself as bait? Worked like a charm... Seeing the now-useless Surveillance Talisman manifest from her body, she casually pulled it out.

...

With the Surveillance Talisman problem solved, she headed straight for her master.

As soon as she arrived, she saw Lord Noctis holding Bobby Bai in one arm, saying goodbye to her master.

"Lord Noctis," Lily Bai called out.

Everyone turned to look at her, and then Bobby Bai squealed in delight, "Sis!"

Lily Bai reached out and scooped him up. "Bobby, I missed you so much!"

"I missed you too, Sis. I miss Father Emperor and Mother Empress as well."

Lily Bai: "Do you want to go home?"

Bobby Bai glanced at Lord Noctis, struggled for a moment, and said, "I want to learn more from Master before I go back."

Lily Bai also looked at Lord Noctis and bowed. "Bobby can be a handful—thank you for taking care of him, Lord Noctis!"
