I Quite Like This Child

1/4/2026

Lord Wynn Drake and his wife escorted them out of Drake Abyss, then headed home.

Lily Bai kept thanking High God Felicity Quinn and Clan Ancestor Bianca over and over: "High God Felicity, Ancestor, I honestly don’t know how I could ever repay you for saving my life!"

High God Felicity Quinn studied Lily’s face and said, "I’d heard you looked a lot like Lucia Lu, but seeing you now—this isn’t just a resemblance. It’s exactly the same face! Are you really not her?"

Apparently, even Divine Lord Tanya Quinn hadn’t told her own sister the truth.

Lily Bai felt a warm rush in her heart and replied, "Nope! I’m not her—I’m Lily Bai!"

High God Felicity Quinn let out a gentle sigh. "Well, at least you’re gorgeous."

Lily Bai laughed. "There are so many things in this world I don’t get to choose. Since I was born looking like this... I guess all I can do is work hard—not let down my parents, not let down the people who saved me, and definitely not let down... this stunning face of mine! Hehe!"

High God Felicity Quinn couldn’t help but laugh.

She really did quite like this kid.

Then Clarissa Summers thanked them again.

Lily Bai glanced at Mia Quinn, who was standing quietly to the side, and sent her a private message: "Thanks, Mia!"

Mia Quinn went stiff from head to toe.

"I know it must’ve been you who begged High God Felicity Quinn to come save me," Lily Bai said. "Thank you!"

Mia Quinn stared at her, stunned, and sent back: "Wait... what did you just call me?"

"Saint Maiden Mia!" Lily Bai replied.

Mia Quinn’s eyes dimmed, and her shoulders slumped.

But then she suddenly thought of something and protested, "Why would you think I begged? We’re not even close!"

Lily Bai just smiled mysteriously and didn’t answer.

"Say something!"

"Guess!"

Mia Quinn was just about to say something, but her parents finished their goodbyes and whisked her away in a flash...

Lily Bai smiled, hooked her arm through Clarissa Summers’s, and said, "Mother, you’re incredible! You even managed to invite High God Felicity Quinn!"

"It’s all thanks to our Ancestor’s love for us," Clarissa Summers said, patting her chest. "I was scared out of my wits!"

"Anyone who survives disaster is bound for blessings! Mother, let’s go home!"

They were just about to leave when Lily Bai’s expression suddenly shifted.

She checked inside and found a talisman had entered her body.

An invisible surveillance talisman.

She hadn’t noticed where the talisman came from.

But she did notice when it slipped into her body.

She didn’t say a word, and the mother-daughter pair returned to Eastern Luo.

Apparently, thanks to First Prince Brandon Xiao showing up, the black clouds hanging over Eastern Luo had thinned out quite a bit.

But they hadn’t disappeared entirely.

...

In the Celestial Palace, Jason Xiao and Jenna Summers were watching the scene unfold in the surveillance talisman.

"I have a gut feeling!" Jenna Summers exclaimed. "She really is Lucia Lu!"

Jason Xiao scoffed, "Impossible! No one’s soul could survive being burned by a Hellfire Talisman."

"What if the talisman malfunctioned?"

"Liam Leshan said the talisman was fully activated at the time! He set it himself, and when the Hellfire sigil went off, he knew," Jason Xiao replied.

"Even if it was triggered, that doesn’t mean her soul was wiped out. With Bianca Whitefan and fiends involved, anything impossible could happen!" Jenna Summers insisted, clinging to her sixth sense.

"Enough already! If she’s really Lucia Lu and working with Sean Shaw, we’ll see soon enough," Jason Xiao said, pointing at the surveillance talisman.

On the surveillance talisman, after Lily Bai escorted her mother back to the palace, she headed straight for the Sigil Sect.

She was a total celebrity at the Sigil Sect.

The Sigil Sect disciples greeted her with wild enthusiasm.

Lily Bai greeted each one in turn, said nothing else, and instead of going to see her master, headed straight for the back mountain.
