"Uncle Lu, Uncle Hu, please come in."
The next moment, Mira Skylar called out toward the doorway.
Immediately, a pair of middle-aged men—one fat, one thin—walked in and bowed to Mira. "Greetings, Miss."
"No need to be so formal, uncles." Mira nodded lightly. "I've just received word that the God-Demon Corps has sent someone to Demon Island to try and capture me. His name is Ian Song. Right now, he should still be out on the star-sea. Uncles, please go take care of him. Don't let him set foot on Demon Island!"
Upon hearing this, a fierce light flashed in both men's eyes. They bowed and promised, "Rest assured, Miss. We'll make sure Ian Song never returns!"
"Thank you, uncles!"
"You're too kind, Miss!"
After watching the two leave, Mira Skylar put the matter out of her mind. Both men were slaves her father had taken in; even though her father was now missing, their loyalty to her remained absolute. With the strength of Upper Heavenly Gods, killing a Lower Heavenly God should be easy. There was no need for her to worry about it.
Out on the star-sea.
Ian Song stood on the deck of his divine ship, watching his avatars slaughter the sea beasts.
He had to admit, the star-sea was crawling with vicious beasts. He'd only been here a few hours, but he'd already faced dozens of attacks—the worst was when three Mid Heavenly God-level beasts appeared at once.
According to the map, he was still an hour away from reaching Demon Island.
Half a quarter-hour later.
His avatars finally finished off the last of the sea beasts and returned to his main body. The divine ship continued forward.
But less than a quarter-hour later, two figures suddenly shot over and hovered in midair—a fat and a thin middle-aged man, both emanating the aura of Upper Heavenly Gods.
"What brings you two here?"
Ian sensed the hostility and stopped his ship, stepping to the front of the deck to ask.
"Are you Ian Song, Five-Star God-Demon of the God-Demon Corps?"
The fat Upper Heavenly God asked.
"You must have the wrong person. I'm not Ian Song." Ian smiled and shook his head.
"Are you sure you're not Ian Song?"
The fat Upper Heavenly God frowned. Mira had only sent them to intercept and kill Ian Song; all they knew was that he was a Five-Star God-Demon, but they had no clue what he looked like.
"If I am, I am. If I'm not, I'm not. Why would I bother lying to you two?"
Ian put on an indignant act.
"Well then, Old Lu, let's get moving!"
As soon as he finished, the two of them turned into streaks of light and flew off behind him.
"They're just leaving like that?"
Ian was a little stunned, but quickly resumed piloting his divine ship. Secretly, he guessed: Looks like word of my secret mission to capture Mira Skylar has leaked. These two Upper Heavenly Gods were probably sent to kill me.
"If that's the case, I'll just have to change my face!"
With that, he activated his Transformation Divine Art, turning himself into an old man. He switched his godhead to water-law, stowed away his current ship, flew a thousand li sideways, then released a different ship and continued heading for Demon Island.
About half an hour later.
Demon Island was now visible in the distance—right then, the same fat and thin Upper Heavenly Gods appeared again.
"Are you Ian Song?"
They stared at Ian suspiciously.
"Sirs, I'm just Evan Chu, an old nobody. I don't know who this Ian Song is that you're talking about."
Ian pretended to look nervous.
"Why are you coming to Demon Island?"
The thin Upper Heavenly God asked coldly.
"To be honest, sirs, I've offended someone powerful and came to Demon Island to hide from trouble!"
"Hand over your residence certificate. Let us take a look!"
