"Sir, you truly have eyes like a torch—there’s no hiding anything from you!"
Song Yan hurriedly offered up a compliment.
"If you have something to say, spit it out. Don’t beat around the bush!"
The fat Upper Heavenly God urged impatiently.
So, I’d like to ask you two for a favor—if you could help me become a god-guard on Demon Island, I’d be under the island master’s protection. My enemies would think twice before coming after me!
"That’s quite the plan, but this isn’t something you can settle with a few drinks and a meal!" The thin Upper Heavenly God said with a sly undertone.
"Of course, I’m not someone who doesn’t understand how things work. Here, sirs, this is a little token of my sincerity!"
As he spoke, Song Yan offered up two storage God-rings.
The two took a look and found that each ring contained ten million god-crystals.
Ten million god-crystals wasn’t a fortune for an Upper Heavenly God, but it was still a tidy sum. The two hesitated briefly, then accepted the rings.
Now that they understood Song Yan’s real motive, the two Upper Heavenly Gods dropped their suspicions. The fat one said gruffly, "Old man, becoming a god-guard of Demon Island isn’t that easy. We’ll only help you pull some strings and get you a shot. Whether you can seize it or not is up to you!"
"Thank you both for your support! Don’t worry, sirs—if it works out, I’ll have an even bigger thank-you ready!"
Hmph! You really think we’re after your god-crystals? You just happen to be our kind of guy!
These two Upper Heavenly Gods—the thin one named Luke Luton, the fat one Tiger Kass—were both slaves of Snowsun God-King. Now that Snowsun God-King had vanished, they didn’t dare even think of betrayal and were loyal to Mira Skylar.
"Got it! Got it!"
Song Yan nodded repeatedly, then had the waiter bring up ten bottles of God-King’s Drunk.
They drank God-King’s Drunk and feasted on fine dishes. By then, all of Mira Skylar’s close guards were completely under his thumb.
The atmosphere in the private room gradually grew more lively.
God-King’s Drunk was strong enough to get even a God-King drunk, but Song Yan’s soul had undergone eleven metamorphoses. As long as he didn’t want to get drunk, even ten bottles couldn’t faze him. In fact, after pretending to drink, he quietly used his space avatar’s divine art to shift the wine into his storage God-ring.
So when the ten bottles of God-King’s Drunk were almost finished...
Luke Luton and Tiger Kass were both completely drunk.
Seeing this, Song Yan’s lips curled into a cold smile. He immediately activated Infinite Reincarnation and pulled both men into his reincarnation world at once.
If they hadn’t gotten drunk, Song Yan might not have been able to drag them into Infinite Reincarnation. But this time, it was easy—he pulled both of them in without a hitch.
After hundreds of cycles, both men’s soul power was badly depleted.
At that point, Song Yan drove five Puppet Mastery sigils into each of their brows.
Since their true souls were trapped in reincarnation, they had almost no resistance. Song Yan enslaved them both with ease.
Once he withdrew Infinite Reincarnation,
the two immediately knelt and called him Master.
"Excellent!"
Song Yan smiled in satisfaction, then asked them about Mira Skylar’s bodyguards.
Mira Skylar had five Upper Heavenly Gods at her side.
On top of that, there were more than ten Mid Heavenly Gods.
After learning this, Song Yan realized that even with these two as inside men, it’d be hard to actually snatch Mira Skylar away.
So he decided to enslave all of Mira’s personal guards first.
Over the next few days, Luke Luton and Tiger Kass took turns inviting the other three Upper Heavenly Gods out for drinks. Once they were drunk, Song Yan pulled them into Infinite Reincarnation and enslaved them with Puppet Mastery.
It only took five days.
By then, every one of Mira Skylar’s close guards was under his control.
The mission deadline in March was fast approaching.
So Song Yan decided to make his move that very night.
That night.
Song Yan was escorted into Skylar Manor by Luke Luton and Tiger Kass.
Inside, a powerful array protected the estate—personally set up by Snowsun God-King.
But Song Yan’s formation mastery was hardly weak. With a few tweaks, he brought the array under his control.
The night was cool as water, and a crescent moon hung high in the sky.
In a pavilion, Mira Skylar sat drinking alone beneath the moon, her eyes tinged with worry and sorrow. “Father has been gone to that place for centuries now. I wonder when he’ll return!”
“Miss, your subordinate has something important to report!”
At that moment, Luke Luton, Tiger Kass, the other three Upper Heavenly Gods, and more than ten Mid Heavenly Gods arrived together.
“Oh? What is it?”
Seeing them all arrive together, Mira Skylar realized something serious was happening.
“Miss, we’ve received confirmation—our master is dead!”
Luke Luton spoke each word slowly and clearly.
“What?”
Mira Skylar cried out, her face going white as a sheet. She shook all over and nearly collapsed.
Just then—
the five Upper Heavenly Gods sprang into action, instantly surrounding Mira. Some struck with palms, others with fists, and one jabbed with a finger.
Crack! Bang!
A series of explosions erupted around Mira Skylar. The attack came too suddenly, and with her mind reeling from the news of her father’s death, she didn’t have time to activate the protective treasures he’d left her.
A few treasures activated automatically, but they couldn’t withstand the combined assault of five Upper Heavenly Gods. In the blink of an eye, her defensive treasures were shattered, and she was subdued.
Meanwhile, the Mid Heavenly Gods quickly sealed away her two maidservants.
“Uncles, why are you doing this?” Mira Skylar cried.
Mira Skylar looked at the five with grief and asked,
“Sorry, Miss. We had no choice.”
All five showed shame on their faces—they couldn’t disobey Song Yan’s orders.
Just then—
a handsome young man in white strode forward, bathed in silvery moonlight that made him seem almost divine.
"Miss Skylar, we finally meet!"
Song Yan walked up with a smile.
“You’re Song Yan?”
Mira Skylar cried out, instantly understanding what had happened. But what puzzled her was how Song Yan had managed to turn all her subordinates.
“That’s right!”
Song Yan nodded. "My mission is simply to bring you back to the God-Demon Corps, Miss Skylar. As long as you cooperate, I won't harm you."
Mira Skylar said in a low voice, "Song Yan, if you leave now, I’ll pretend none of this ever happened!"
Song Yan chuckled. "I've been plotting for over two months for this chance. How could I give up now?"
Mira Skylar said coldly, "My father and the master of Demon Island are close friends. If you capture me, he’ll never let you go!"
Song Yan chuckled. “Every debt has a debtor! I’m just following orders. If anyone comes for revenge, it’ll be against the God-Demon Corps, not me—a mere Lower Heavenly God!”
Song Yan shook his head, unconcerned. He walked up, sealed Mira Skylar’s cultivation and consciousness, stuffed her into his storage God-ring, and quietly left Skylar Manor and Demon Island.
With Tiger, Luke, and the other enslaved guards keeping up appearances—and the grand array now under his control—Song Yan slipped out of Skylar Manor, quietly left Demon Island, and completed the core step of his perilous merit mission: abducting a God-King’s daughter from God Emperor–protected Demon Island without raising open alarm.
