Need to Step Aside

"That kid is way too stubborn! No matter what, she shouldn't go off and become a nun! You hurry and stop her, I'll go find my brother!" Grace spun around and left to look for Jason Zhuo.

When Jason Zhuo heard about it, he didn’t hesitate—he grabbed Grace and jumped onto the horse, heading straight for Moonwater Abbey.

When they arrived, sure enough, Princess Olivia Gu was kneeling in front of the main hall, with two nuns beside her.

Grace was about to call out to her, but Jason Zhuo dashed in like an arrow, grabbed Olivia, and started dragging her outside.

"What on earth happened to you that's so unbearable? You're a princess—how could you just throw everything away and become a nun?" Jason Zhuo’s anger was obvious.

Olivia wouldn’t look at him, nor did she say a word.

"You’re going back to the palace right now!" Jason Zhuo pulled her along as he walked.

"Why do you care about my business?" Olivia broke free. "Whether I become a nun or not, what’s it got to do with you?"

"Then tell me—why are you doing this?"

"No reason... I just feel like it, that’s all!" She lowered her head, but a string of sparkling tears fell to the ground.

Pain flickered in Jason Zhuo’s eyes.

"Let’s go! Aren’t you going to get engaged to Yaoyao? She’s nice, she’s a good girl. I wish you two happiness!" Olivia turned to head back into the hall.

Jason Zhuo reached out and pulled her into his arms.

"Uh?" Grace’s eyes widened in exaggerated surprise.

Olivia was even more stunned, her face turning bright red as she called out, "Jason Zhuo?"

She felt a soft, small sensation in his embrace.

A delicate, pleasant fragrance lingered at the tip of his nose, curling gently around his heart...

Jason Zhuo took a deep breath and said, "I like you."

Princess Olivia wiped her eyes and asked him, "Does that mean... you’re willing to be with me?"

Jason Zhuo nodded.

Princess Olivia instantly broke into a smile—like a rainbow after the rain, dazzling and bright.

Jason Zhuo smiled too, and when their eyes met, Grace immediately felt she needed to give them some privacy.

...

Later, the siblings escorted Princess Olivia back to the palace together.

Originally, Olivia said she’d ask the Empress Dowager to arrange their marriage as soon as she got back.

But Jason Zhuo said not to bring it up until his case was settled.

Princess Olivia obediently agreed.

On the way home, Jason Zhuo was unusually silent.

"Big Brother, you don’t look like someone who just found true love!" Grace studied him. "Could it be that..."

Jason Zhuo glanced at her. "No."

"Huh? I haven’t even asked yet, and you’re already saying no?"

"You want to ask if I did all that just to convince her to come back to the palace?"

"Uh... okay, I admit, that’s exactly what I was thinking."

"No, I really do care about her... I don’t even know when it started..." Jason Zhuo said, a little embarrassed.

Before, reason always won over emotion.

Just now, emotion won over reason.

Grace grinned and said, "Then why the long face?"

Jason Zhuo looked at Grace. "Grace, you know our Zhuo family and Colin Gu are mortal enemies, right?"

Grace felt a chill in her heart.

Looks like Father really trusts him, to tell him even this.

"So, in the short term... if I get involved with her, Lady Blue Moon will definitely stir up trouble. I don’t want to make things hard for Dad." Jason Zhuo said. "And in the long run, our family and Colin Gu are bound to clash—maybe even a bloody fight! If I really married her, when that day comes, both of us would be miserable."

Grace frowned and said nothing.
