So It Was Evan Xiao
In her mind, Colin Gu was Colin Gu, and Princess Olivia Gu was Princess Olivia Gu.
In her previous life, Princess Olivia Gu once turned against Colin Gu and Jason Zhuo for the sake of the Zhu Family.
So, in her mind, Princess Olivia Gu was one of her own.
She never considered that if the outcome were different in this life, would Princess Olivia Gu still be on her side?
Would she see the Zhu Family as her enemy?
......
"Then why are you willing to accept her again?" Grace asked.
"I've actually been thinking about this for the past couple of days," Jason Zhuo said. "If I look at it from another angle, maybe a marriage alliance between us would mean something different."
"What do you mean?"
"Maybe, no matter who wins or loses, a marriage between us could be redemption for both families," Jason Zhuo said.
Grace realized Jason Zhuo's thoughts were much deeper than she had imagined.
She nodded in agreement. "So, big brother, have you made up your mind?"
Jason Zhuo nodded. "But I'm afraid the Empress Dowager and Colin Gu won't agree to let her marry me."
"The Empress Dowager's eldest princess married into Windspire Kingdom as Empress, but died tragically under mysterious circumstances," Grace said. "After the pain of losing her daughter, the Empress Dowager treasures her younger daughter's life and happiness above all else."
"So you're saying the resistance I face might not be that great after all?"
"Mm-hmm." Grace nodded. "Big brother, what about that case? What's going on now?"
"We'll set it aside for now," Jason Zhuo said quietly. "I have to finish my task before I can leave the provisions warehouse."
"Oh... I see!"
The siblings were chatting when suddenly a rider rushed up from behind, shouting, "Jason Zhuo!"
They turned to look and saw that it was Evan Xiao.
Louis Lin followed behind.
"General," Jason Zhuo called out.
"I need to talk to you. Come with me," Evan Xiao said, jogging ahead and turning into a side path.
Grace watched his serious expression, noticing he didn't even glance at her, and pouted.
"Miss, what have you been busy with lately? I haven't seen you around," Louis Lin asked with a cheerful grin.
"Busy with cultivation," Grace replied.
"The General has told me three or four times lately that if you come by, no matter where he is, I should go find him and bring him back," Louis Lin whispered. "But you haven't come at all!"
Grace raised her eyebrows. "Really?"
"How could I dare lie to you?"
Grace smiled with pursed lips. "How have you and Steward Qin been lately?"
"We're doing well, really well, haha!"
......
Soon after, Jason Zhuo came out and told Grace he'd wait for her up ahead, then ran off.
Evan Xiao also came out. Seeing her, he asked expressionlessly, "Why haven't you left?"
"Huh?" Grace said. "I... um, just wanted to say goodbye to you."
"Just to say goodbye?" He looked at her.
"Yep!" Grace waved at him. "Bye! I'm off!"
Evan Xiao kept a straight face and said nothing.
Louis Lin was behind him, making exaggerated faces at Qingluan.
Grace blinked her big eyes, then suddenly gave Evan Xiao a sweet smile. "Haha, just kidding! I was actually waiting here because I wanted to talk to you."
"Say what?"
"What have you been busy with lately?"
"I'm not busy."
"I'm super busy! I've been cultivating every day!" Grace said. "I spent more than ten days in seclusion, and my cultivation has improved a lot!"
Evan Xiao's expression didn't improve.
Grace scratched the back of her head. "The New Year is coming up—how do you plan to spend it?"
