A Little Sweetness in Her Heart
Azure Flame didn’t even bother to look back, just kept flying forward at a steady, unhurried pace.
Damian Black stood in his usual spot—right near Azure Flame’s neck—and didn’t look back either.
Blood-Eye could’ve caught up, it was only a short distance, but he didn’t dare move an inch.
Inside this Wildlands Tribulation Thunder Array, nobody knows which direction the next bolt of ancient tribulation lightning will strike.
If you get hit just once, you’ll be burnt to a crisp—inside and out—and end up as nothing but a charred corpse.
"Your Majesty!"
"Your Majesty, I was wrong! Please save me!"
Azure Flame flew farther and farther away, soon vanishing into the black mist…
Looks like Blood-Eye is going to be stuck at the bottom of that pit for a while.
Until someone happens to pass by next time… Maybe they’ll pick him up if he’s lucky.
……
The other three demon elites glanced at each other.
Mirage: "How’d Lily Bai manage to knock him down there?"
Purple Fox: "I didn’t see it happen."
Mirage: "Then why didn’t His Majesty help him?"
Boomer, who knew everything: "Because it wasn’t Lily Bai who pushed him down."
Purple Fox: "Then who was it?"
Boomer: "It was His Majesty."
……
Lily Bai glanced at Damian Black, the corners of her mouth lifting in a subtle smile.
It really wasn’t her who pushed him.
Just now, a sudden wave of dark force came from Damian Black’s side and shoved Blood-Eye down.
Did he do it for her…
Her heart felt a little sweet.
……
Once they left the Wildlands Tribulation Thunder Array, the three demon elites huddled with Damian Black to talk for a bit, then each went their separate ways.
Before leaving, Mirage shot her a fierce look and said, "I’ll deliver your scented powder! How do I reach you?"
Lily Bai handed her a Messenger Charm.
Mirage took it, then transformed into a rainbow butterfly and fluttered away.
Such a gorgeous butterfly.
I almost wanted to catch her and make a specimen.
Then Damian Black and Azure Flame took her to the Spirit Alliance to deliver the Five-Element Earth-Soul Beast’s Soul Core.
Spirit Alliance—officially, the Spiritual Alchemist Guild.
It’s the gathering place for all the spiritual alchemists of the Ten Wilds Continent.
The Spirit Alliance headquarters is located in the New Divine Realm.
It’s called the ‘New’ Divine Realm because, well, it really is new.
This Divine Realm was born only two hundred thousand years ago.
It was created when Holy Master Chloe Zhu opened up the virtual space formed from the Primordial Creator Pangu’s Soul Core.
Because the Holy Master used to be the Spirit Alliance leader during her youth, the headquarters was set up in the New Divine Realm.
When they reached the entrance to the New Divine Realm, Damian Black brought her down to the ground.
"Thank you! Would you mind waiting here for me? I’ll come out as soon as I get the pills," Lily Bai said.
Damian Black asked, "Do you know where Azure Flame went?"
"No idea. Where did she go?"
Since yesterday, Azure Flame had parted ways with them.
"Take a look." Damian Black used a Clarity Charm.
An image appeared in the void—it was an eave of a house.
On it hung a plaque: Tranquil Grace Palace.
Beneath the eaves, there was a golden swift’s nest.
Several golden swifts trembled inside the nest.
A Fire Demon Drake, no bigger than a swallow, lounged in the nest with her legs crossed, looking utterly at ease.
"Azure Flame!" Lily Bai’s eyes widened. "What is she doing under my mother’s eaves?"
"When you go in, refine your pills and come out alone. I’ll wait for you on Heavenly Pool Mountain," Damian Black said. "If you don’t come back, she’ll flatten the entire Eastlore Royal Palace."
Lily Bai: "Ha! Demon Emperor, you really underestimate my character! Am I that kind of person?"
"Go on." Damian Black vanished.
Lily Bai made a sword-slashing gesture at him, then pulled out a Messenger Charm to contact Luna Lian.
Luna Lian was a Qilin Saint Maiden.
Ten years ago, the demon clans attacked Moonshade Kingdom.
Lily Bai met her while driving back the enemy, and after a few encounters, they became close friends.
