Becoming Truly Integrated
He thought he’d been hollowed out after all these years.
But in reality, it was his cultivation technique that wasn’t suitable for that kind of activity.
So, although he secretly sought out doctors and medicines everywhere, ordinary remedies never worked for him.
In her previous life, Grace was caught between warring factions and had a seriously tough time.
To find a powerful backer, she brewed up this medicine for him after learning about his little problem.
Ever since he started using it, he couldn’t quit.
In her previous life, Grace got through a lot of tough spots with his help. Honestly, she wouldn’t have made it to the end without Quentin Shaw.
This time, his perks arrived early…
Sure enough, the next morning, Prime Minister Quentin Shaw came looking for her.
Seeing him all refreshed and practically glowing, Grace couldn’t help but smile knowingly.
“May I ask your name, sir?” Quentin Shaw inquired.
“Julian,” Grace replied.
“Mr. Julian, your medicine is truly miraculous!” Quentin Shaw exclaimed. “I used to feel like my spiritual and masculine energies just wouldn’t blend. After taking your remedy, everything feels perfectly in sync!”
Grace smiled and nodded, producing a small vial from her sleeve. “This medicine isn’t easy to make, Prime Minister. Use it sparingly—five or six pills a month is plenty.”
Quentin Shaw didn’t reach out to take it.
Grace chuckled and set the vial on the table. “By the way, I do have a favor to ask, Prime Minister.”
“If you have a request, just say it.” Finally getting to the point, Quentin Shaw instantly became wary.
“I have a friend whose cousin is the Lady of Duke Zhao Mansion. She’s a spiritual alchemist named Joanna Zuo.”
“Oh? I’ve heard about her—there was some incident recently, right? Didn’t she try to jump off a cliff?”
“Yes,” Grace said. “My friend’s cousin wants to leave Andrew Zhao and take her child with her. But the Duke Zhao Mansion refuses, insisting on kicking her out with a divorce letter and keeping the child.”
“So, you came to see me just for this?”
“Exactly!” Grace replied. “The Lady’s parents are gone, and her uncle and aunt are just minor officials from a vassal state. How could they possibly fight the Duke Zhao Mansion? If they go to court, they’ll definitely lose! So I’m begging you, Prime Minister—please help her.”
“Heh!” Quentin Shaw chuckled. “That’s hardly a big deal! But…”
“Is there anything else you’re wondering about, Prime Minister?”
“To be honest, I had your medicine checked out,” Quentin Shaw said. “They told me it’s grade eight! That’s not something just anyone could brew!”
“Heh, that’s true!”
“Such a precious spiritual medicine, and you’re trading it for such a small favor… It almost feels unreal!”
Grace smiled. “Prime Minister, I might need your help with lots of things in the future! But for now, I really am just asking for the Lady’s sake.”
As she spoke, she pushed the vial of medicine toward Quentin Shaw.
Quentin Shaw paused for a moment, then finally took it, bowing his hands. “Then I’ll owe you a huge favor, Mr. Julian!”
Grace nodded slightly.
...
After Quentin Shaw left, Grace changed out of her disguise, put on her usual dress, and went to find Bobby.
The three of them were about to head to the magistrate’s office.
Grace tagged along too.
Just as she expected, the Yan City officials were totally on the Duke Zhao Mansion’s side.
