When the new information surfaced in Evan's mind, he could barely contain his excitement. The Icefire Eye could see through any illusion or invisibility, meaning the Light King's stealth was now completely worthless against him.
But that wasn't even the best part. The Icefire Eye could be unleashed twice per day, and its power could pierce stone or any target within his sight—guaranteed to hit, ignoring all defenses.
A heaven-defying skill like this was beyond anything Evan had ever dreamed of. With the Icefire Eye, he could slay an enemy just by looking at them, all without anyone noticing.
However, using the Icefire Eye's attack burned through a massive amount of Chaos Immortal Force. The number of times he could use it depended on his reserves—if his Chaos Immortal Force was high enough, he might even manage three or four shots a day.
And the stronger he became, the more devastating its attack would be. It was like the Icefire Eye was tailor-made for Evan. There was just one drawback: it couldn't target anyone who carried a curse. If he tried, the curse would transfer to him—amazing, but also incredibly frustrating.
Evan's eyes had returned to normal, but Yvonne and Serena—just freed from the ice—were clearly unsettled. The blue and red glow in Evan's pupils was something they'd never seen before, so strange it left them speechless.
"Evan, what's going on with your eyes? I just saw two beams of light. Are you sure you're okay?" Serena Frost couldn't help but ask.
"My eyes are fine—I just awakened the Icefire Eye skill. But now's not the time to talk about it. The Light King is about to show up. You two should get out of here for now—leave this to me," Evan said, calm and resolute.
The frozen light-element particles suddenly broke free, and a primordial roar—wild and furious—echoed in everyone's ears. Then, a gigantic figure wreathed in blinding white radiance appeared before them.
It wasn't just a monster—it was a giant over ten meters tall. But the sword it wielded was truly terrifying, more than five meters long. Even a glancing blow from that weapon could pulverize a person instantly.
Yvonne, Serena, Goldwing, and Shadow all instinctively retreated—the giant's aura alone was suffocating. If they stayed, they'd only drag Evan down.
If anyone got seized or controlled, Evan would be forced into a dangerous disadvantage. He hadn't expected the Light King to be even stronger than a late-stage Immortal Emperor—this was beyond anything he'd heard of before.
Once the others had retreated, Evan felt much more at ease. The monster glared at him and snarled, "You insignificant ant, how dare you freeze me? I'll make sure you die a miserable death today!"
Evan snorted. "Why do all monsters start with the same tired lines? Seriously, can't you say something original? I'm sick of hearing this—do you really think you're special?"
Evan was completely confident he could take down the Light King. Its invisibility was useless against him now, and he could break through spatial domains with ease. He hadn't resonated with the light element yet, but that was only a matter of time.
He still had Divine Cleave, and with the Unicorn Arm, even if the monster survived, it would be seriously wounded. But Evan was curious to see what the Icefire Eye could do—activating it would drain half his Chaos Immortal Force, about the same as using Divine Cleave.
The monster saw Evan's fearless, mocking attitude and flew into a rage. "If you think you're so strong, let's see if you can back up those words!"
As soon as it finished speaking, the giant sword slashed down—a sword-qi arc dozens of meters long shot toward Evan, shaking the entire space as if it might split open, but the domain held firm.
If the monster could break out of this light space, it would've done so ages ago—instead, it's been trapped here for years. But if that strike landed on Evan, he'd be in serious trouble—even if it didn't kill him outright, it'd leave him badly wounded.
Evan wasn't about to stand there and take it—he instantly used Shifting Position to dodge the blow. The ground erupted in rubble, and a crack ten meters wide stretched out as far as he could see.
Fortunately, Yvonne and the others were far enough away to avoid the shockwave, but the sheer force of the attack knocked them off their feet. They stared at the monster in stunned disbelief.
Evan seized the opening while the monster was recovering, unleashing Star-Cleave infused with fire element. A fiery sword-qi burst from the Frostbane Divine Sword, heating the air. But the monster wasn't slow—it spun around and slashed back.
Even in a rush, Evan didn't dare meet it head-on. The monster's strength was probably late-late Immortal Emperor level, and with such a massive body, Evan couldn't match its raw power.
The fiery sword-qi collided with the monster's sword-mang, shaking the space violently. The fire-element sword-qi spread like Glasswind, sweeping outward. Evan's attack didn't injure the monster, but it made it acknowledge his strength.
"Lowly human, I didn't expect you to withstand my attack. Looks like you've got some skill. But if you think that's all I've got, you're dead wrong. Today I'll show you the power of my Light Domain!" the Light King declared.
Evan shrugged. "I've been waiting to see just how strong your Light Domain really is. Don't disappoint me—your underlings were way too weak to threaten me."
"You're asking for death! Since you want it, I'll grant your wish—Light Domain!" the Light King roared. Instantly, a crushing pressure descended on Evan, though the monster itself was now rooted in place, unable to move.
Domains were powerful, but they had limits—once activated, the caster couldn't attack, and leaving the spot would break the domain. Still, the domain's pressure and elemental force could be used to crush or assault anyone trapped inside.
Normally, a domain could crush weaker opponents outright, no attacks needed. But Evan was different—he could communicate and resonate with elemental forces. Once he achieved resonance, the pressure would vanish, and the domain's owner wouldn't even notice.
Now, Evan felt the same overwhelming pressure as when the Dark King unleashed its domain. He immediately sent out his soul sense, trying to connect with the raging light-element particles in this space...
