Evan Chu tunneled through the earth at top speed, getting as far away from Lillian Zhang's room as possible. Only when he finally emerged did he let out a long breath—thank goodness he'd reacted fast, or he would've been caught red-handed.
"Evan, you really are hopeless. I don't know what to do with you. Now that you've gotten a look at Lillian Zhang, are you regretting it? Men—honestly, none of you are any good." Luna's voice sounded in his mind.
"You were awake the whole time? I thought you were napping! Hey, I'm a good guy, or you wouldn't have fallen for me, right? Luna, Lillian Zhang is gorgeous, but compared to you, she's still missing something. You're the real goddess in my heart." Evan Chu teased shamelessly.
"You never take anything seriously. That girl inherited some Immortal Realm techniques, so she's definitely not simple. You're already drawing too much attention. Keep a low profile, or if the wrong people find out about your situation, you could end up dead." Luna warned.
"What do you mean by that? Don't tell me there's someone at seventh-layer Venerable Martial Realm in the Netherworld? Anyway, I'm leaving soon, so it shouldn't be a problem. I've always kept things low-key, you know." Evan said, trying to sound casual.
"There's more than just me and Venerable Solus with Immortal Realm soul remnants in this world. Some soul-possessing entities can seize bodies. Their strength drops a lot, but their attack power is still terrifying. You can't afford to ignore that." Luna explained.
Evan Chu instantly realized how serious things were. "Looks like I really need to be careful from now on. Lillian Zhang's got way too many secrets—she might even be a powerhouse possessed by a soul remnant. I'd better stay on guard," he muttered.
Just then, Lillian Zhang suddenly opened her door. She spotted Evan standing quietly not far away and frowned, her voice cold: "Evan, what are you doing outside my door? Planning something shady?"
From her words, it was clear Lillian was angry—and suspicious. Evan immediately flashed a grin: "I just happened to walk by and got lost in thought, so I stopped here. What about you, coming out—were you missing me?"
"It wasn't you?" Lillian stared at Evan, her face full of doubt, eyes locked on him.
