Guilty Conscience

After arriving outside Roxanne Lin's door, Evan Chu didn't push it open directly. Instead, he spread out his spiritual sense to check if anyone was paying attention. Once he confirmed the coast was clear, he immediately used Earthshift to burrow into the ground.

At this moment, Roxanne Lin wasn't asleep; she was sitting at her desk, playing with a jade hairpin—the very same Vermilion Bird Hairpin Evan had once seen on Princess Ivy. Now, Princess Ivy had returned it to her. If not for this hairpin, Ivy would never have become Evan Chu's woman.

"Are you waiting for me? You’re not even resting at this hour!" Evan Chu popped up from the earth and said.

Roxanne Lin was startled by Evan Chu’s sudden appearance. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "There’s a door, you know—you just love scaring people. What are you doing here?"

Evan Chu grinned, "You’re my woman—why do you think I’m here? I didn’t use the door because I didn’t want Ivy and Faye to find out. See how considerate I am?"

As he spoke, Evan Chu circled behind Roxanne Lin and gently embraced her. His hands naturally climbed up to her ample chest, kneading slowly—the sensation could only be described in one word: bliss!

"Stop messing around, Evan. If Ivy and Faye find out, they’ll be upset and think you’re playing favorites. You’d better go back!" Roxanne Lin grabbed Evan Chu’s hands, refusing to let him tease her any further.

"How could they possibly know? I’ve missed you for so long—let’s get some real exercise tonight!" Evan Chu broke free from Roxanne Lin’s grip and started causing trouble again.

Roxanne Lin suddenly stood up, turned to face Evan Chu, and said, "Evan, I know you love me—and I love you too. But this really isn’t right. What’s the difference between this and sneaking around? I don’t want Ivy or Faye to misunderstand and look down on me. You should go back!"

"No way—my Roxy is actually kicking me out? Did you all plan this together or something? Otherwise, you wouldn’t act like this." Evan Chu noticed something was off and asked.

A bitter smile flashed across Roxanne Lin’s face. "More or less. Even if you went to Faye’s or Ivy’s room, it’d be the same. We all love you, but there are limits. Tomorrow we’re traveling with you, and you want us bedridden for days again?"

Evan Chu finally understood the reason—they were worried about not being able to get out of bed. It was all his fault for being too strong, wasting such a golden opportunity.

"Maybe I’ll just spend the night here. We don’t have to do anything, how about that?" Evan Chu asked, putting on his most honest face.

"You really think I’d believe you? Maybe others don’t know you, but I do. If you stay here, I give it half a stick of incense before you lose control. So you’d better go—there’ll be plenty of chances later." Roxanne Lin said.

Evan Chu was dumbfounded. Roxy, who was always gentle and accommodating, was actually refusing him now. Had the world changed?

In the end, Evan Chu had no choice but to use Earthshift to leave Roxanne Lin’s room. He didn’t bother going to Princess Ivy or Faye’s rooms—he’d just get kicked out again. As he was about to head back to his own room, he noticed that Lillian Zhang’s room still had its light on.

"There’s hope!" Evan Chu chuckled to himself, then quietly snuck to Lillian Zhang’s door. He didn’t go in right away, hesitating for a moment—he still remembered Luna’s warning: if he provoked this crazy girl, he’d be in serious trouble.

After standing at the door for a while, Evan Chu smiled wryly. "Forget it, I’ll just go back." Just as he was about to leave, he heard the sound of running water inside. That sound—? Evan Chu suddenly realized what it was and got a little excited.

With a thought, he instantly used Earthshift to burrow into the ground and entered Lillian Zhang’s room. He quickly found the source of the water sound, poked his head up from the earth—and was nearly scared out of his wits.

Lillian Zhang was sitting in a huge wooden barrel, bathing—facing him directly. Her stunning beauty was no less than Roxanne Lin’s, maybe even surpassing it. She might even rival Yvonne Xuan, the Sword Spirit.

But Evan Chu could only see her upper body; her most alluring parts were blocked by the water, leaving him speechless. Even so, he felt parched just looking at her—this woman really was something else. No wonder Luna warned him not to provoke her.

Right now, if you asked Evan Chu what he hated most, it’d be that wooden barrel hiding Lillian Zhang’s perfect figure. He wished he could smash it open with one palm and see the view he wanted most—but that was impossible.

Maybe Lillian Zhang was almost done bathing, because she slowly stood up from the barrel—and suddenly, two dazzling white mounds filled Evan Chu’s vision.

At that moment, Evan Chu couldn’t help but swallow hard. Lillian Zhang, a Fifth-Layer Venerable Martial Realm expert, had razor-sharp senses; she instantly detected someone in the room.

Evan Chu had hoped to glimpse her most mysterious, grassy spot, but just then Lillian Zhang suddenly shouted, "Who!" Before the words faded, she whipped her palm, splashing water up to form a wall in front of her, which instantly turned to Mystic Ice.

In that instant, she leapt from the barrel and threw on the clothes waiting on the screen—so fast that Evan Chu was left sweating. She might just be the fastest dresser he’d ever seen.

Lillian Zhang’s eyes flashed with anger; as if she’d spotted him, she struck with a palm full of Mystic Ice, freezing the whole room. Evan Chu panicked and dove back into the earth.

Even so, he got frozen solid. Evan Chu was shocked—this crazy girl’s Mystic Ice was so powerful it could even freeze the earth below, much stronger than his current Watershift.

Even though he was frozen, Evan Chu didn’t panic. He quickly used Watershift to free himself and fled in a hurry. Feeling like a guilty thief, he was glad he knew Watershift—otherwise, he’d have been caught and lost for words.

After Evan Chu’s hasty escape, Lillian Zhang went to where he’d just been and looked around carefully. She found nothing out of place. "Did I imagine it? No way—I was sure someone was peeping. If it was that shameless guy, I’ll dig his eyeballs out for sure!"

If Evan Chu had heard Lillian Zhang’s words, he’d be scared half to death. For just a glance, she’d gouge out his eyes—and he hadn’t even seen everything! The most mysterious spot was still hidden. Was it even worth it? If he saw it all, would his head still stay on his shoulders…
