Evan Chu’s Worry

1/19/2026

Roxy, Princess Ivy, and Faye Knox never expected Jill Zhang to barge in at this moment. She was probably drawn by the three women’s earlier panicked screams. Before they could even speak, Jill’s own startled cry rang out!

"Ah! Pervert! Freak!" Her whole face instantly flushed as red as a ripe apple. She spun around and bolted out of the room, breathing hard like she’d just run into a deadly enemy.

“How can that freak sleep without any clothes on? Now that I’ve seen it, how am I supposed to face anyone?” Jill Zhang muttered, speechless.

It was the first time she’d ever seen a man’s body. Evan Chu’s physique was already impressively muscular, every muscle clearly defined—but that wasn’t the main thing. What truly shocked her was the sight of his ‘dragon,’ standing tall and terrifying. She was completely stunned.

Jill Zhang realized there were beads of sweat on her forehead. She was deeply annoyed—this little thief must’ve done it on purpose, making her lose face in front of the other three women. She swore to herself she’d make him pay for this one day.

Evan Chu was still sound asleep, completely unaware that Jill Zhang had just misunderstood him even more. Although there was something indescribable mixed into that misunderstanding, it would take him a lot of effort to clear things up.

The three women were still flustered. “This time, Linfeng really can’t explain himself to Jill Zhang. Are we about to gain another sister? That doesn’t seem right!” Princess Ivy said worriedly.

“Jill Zhang isn’t much to look at, and she’s a lot older than Evan. I doubt he’d ever be interested in her, so let’s not worry. What matters right now is figuring out what’s wrong with him—there’s no way someone as strong as Evan would sleep this long.” Faye Knox said.

Roxy covered Evan Chu’s body with the quilt. “Linfeng, wake up! Linfeng, wake up!” She shook him, hoping to rouse him.

After a moment, Evan Chu’s eyes snapped open. Seeing Roxy’s anxious face, he immediately pulled her into his arms and said, “Roxy, what are you doing here? Missing me already, sneaking over behind Faye and Ivy’s backs?”

Roxy slipped out of Evan Chu’s embrace, but before she could say anything, Princess Ivy chimed in: “We’re all here, you know! Are you planning to give us a live show with Roxy right in front of us? And what’s with not wearing any clothes—have you no shame?”

“Linfeng, what’s with all these scraps of clothing on the floor? Someone at your level shouldn’t have this kind of accident. I hope you’ll give us a proper explanation.” Faye Knox said.

Roxy looked at Evan Chu, her cheeks pink as peach blossoms. “We’re all your women, so seeing your body isn’t a big deal. It’s just that Jill Zhang barged in by accident and saw everything. You should put on some clothes right away—we’re waiting for your explanation.”

Evan Chu felt a black line appear on his forehead—this really was karma. He’d just seen Jill Zhang’s body, and now she’d seen his. The problem was, he’d only glimpsed half of her, but she’d seen all of him. He’d really gotten the short end of the stick. He’d have to get even someday.

With a thought, he took a clean robe from his storage ring and changed right in front of the three women. All of them turned away, too embarrassed to watch. Evan found the whole thing strangely satisfying—an accidental blunder had given him the perfect excuse to tease Jill Zhang.

Once dressed, Evan Chu said awkwardly, “I had a qi deviation last night while cultivating. I managed to recover, but my mind was exhausted, so I fell asleep. As for my clothes, they must’ve been destroyed during the deviation—I honestly have no idea.”

The three women’s faces filled with worry. “How do you feel now? Is there still a risk of qi deviation? You should know that steady progress is the best way to cultivate. You’re always rushing for breakthroughs—no wonder you keep getting into trouble. You’re already so ridiculously strong!” Roxy scolded.

“I’ve already dealt with the qi deviation, so don’t worry. I just feel a bit tired—give me two days to rest and I’ll be fine. You’ve all waited long enough, so let’s get going!” Evan Chu stood up and said.

“I think you should rest a couple days first—we really can’t relax seeing you like this! How about the three of us keep you company tonight? If we’d known, we’d have joined you last night. Even if we couldn’t go with you, it’d be way better than you risking qi deviation.” Faye Knox said, her face turning red.

Evan Chu laughed. “Faye, you’re finally being reasonable—I’m impressed! But I’m fine, really. Let’s go. Once we find Ryan Ouyang, I’ll fight three hundred rounds with you all in bed!”

Ignoring the three women’s angry stares, Evan Chu swaggered out of the room as if nothing had happened. The women each muttered, “Scoundrel!” “Pervert!” “Freak!” before following him out.

Outside, Evan Chu saw Jill Zhang standing there as if nothing had happened. She acted totally unfazed by the earlier chaos and, when Evan walked over, asked, “When are we leaving? Do you know where the person you’re looking for is?”

“I know—he should be somewhere in Beast territory. By the way, what do you think of my physique? Are you satisfied?” Evan Chu joked.

“What are you even talking about? What does your body have to do with me? I don’t care!” Jill Zhang snapped, turning to leave.

“You saw my body and want to pretend it didn’t happen? Only my own women are allowed to see me like that. So, how do you plan to make it up to me? Of course, I know you’d never be my woman, so I’ll offer you a simple, straightforward way to compensate.” Evan Chu said.

“And what way is that?” Jill Zhang asked, pausing without much thought.

“It’s simple—just take another bath and let me watch. I didn’t get a good look last time, so I’m a little disappointed. That way, we’ll be even. What do you think?” Evan Chu grinned.

Jill Zhang’s face darkened instantly. “Go die, Evan Chu!” She couldn’t help but swing a palm at him—not very hard, but Evan dodged quickly. With Roxy, Ivy, and Faye present, he didn’t want to spark any jealousy.

“Easy there. You’re pretty, but that temper of yours could use some work. If you don’t fix it, no man will ever want you.” Evan Chu laughed.

Jill Zhang knew she couldn’t teach him a lesson here—she’d have to wait for a better chance, maybe once they entered the Death-Tower Grounds. Then she’d show him who was boss. She still couldn’t believe he’d really spied on her bathing; he was such a scoundrel.

Just then, Ethan Fenn and Sean Xiao showed up. Seeing Jill Zhang’s angry face, Sean joked, “Who’s got the guts to piss off our Human King? Want me to help teach them a lesson?”

“Go ahead—shut Evan Chu’s mouth for me! That guy is so annoying, I could kill him right now!” Jill Zhang snapped.

Sean Xiao was stunned. If he tried to teach Evan Chu a lesson, he’d only end up getting schooled himself. “Better not—I know my limits. You’ll have to handle him yourself,” he said.

“That’s enough, Jill. It’s time to go. I doubt anyone will dare mess with the City Lord’s Manor again. Everyone, let’s head to Beast territory and clear our minds.” Evan Chu said.

The group took to the skies, flying toward Beast territory. Along the way, Ethan Fenn whispered to Roxy, “What did Evan Chu do to make her so mad? She looks furious!”

“Trust me, you’re better off not knowing. It’d just cause you trouble,” Roxy replied, choosing not to explain.

It took about half a day to fly from Linsha City to Beast territory. Evan Chu was sure Ryan Ouyang had gone to Beast King City, but with the city destroyed, he worried Ryan might have been hurt. The thought weighed on him, and he barely spoke, his face clouded with concern.

Roxy was the first to notice and asked, “Linfeng, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”

“I’m just worried about Ryan Ouyang. Beast King City was destroyed—what if he died there? If that’s the case, it’ll be tough for us to get back to the Azure Tide Ruins.” Evan Chu replied.

“If we can’t go back, then so be it. The Underworld isn’t so bad, and with your strength, there’s nothing to worry about,” Roxy said.

“If I don’t go back, the Holy Sword Sect, Azure Frost Sect, Palace of Freedom, and Heavenly Fragrance Pavilion will all be wiped out. I made a three-year agreement with the Lone Demon Lord—half the time has already passed. If I don’t return from the Underworld within three years, all those sects will be destroyed and Azure Tide Ruins will become a wasteland. It’s much more serious than you think.” Evan Chu said.

He actually had another important mission: to rescue his mother from the Dragon God Hall. Just thinking about his mother still suffering there made his heart ache.

“Don’t worry, Linfeng. I’m sure Ryan Ouyang will be fine. He has the Sacred Beast bloodline—if things get truly dangerous, that power will awaken and protect him.” Roxy said.

“How do you know all this? If your bloodline is fully awakened, why haven’t you shown any amazing power? You’re only at Saint Martial Stage Seven, after all.” Evan Chu asked.

“Of course I haven’t fully awakened. If I had, I’d be a true phoenix. My bloodline only looks fully awakened on the surface—I just need a breakthrough to truly awaken it, but that can’t be forced. I’m not in a rush.” Roxy said.

“Besides, in my Vermilion Bird Clan, if you achieve Phoenix Nirvana three times, you can fully awaken your bloodline power. You can do it too—every race has its own way of awakening. Stop worrying and let’s hurry to Beast territory!” Roxy said.
