Evan Chu's formidable defensive power was on full display at this moment. He shot forward at incredible speed, instantly plunging into the swarm of Blood Ravens.
The Frostbane Sword in his grip tore through Blood Raven after Blood Raven, cutting them down like a blazing blade through paper. Even those that tried to explode against him were nothing—his defense was untouchable.
Within just a few breaths, he was already face-to-face with the Blood Raven King. He swiftly slashed out with his sword, but the Blood Raven King seemed to understand Evan's intent and dodged sideways the instant he attacked.
Its speed was so freakish that Evan's blade sliced only a fading afterimage—he'd missed by a hair.
"Son of a—! This damned bird actually dodged me!" Evan spat, his heart burning with indignation.
But then the Blood Raven King let out a piercing screech that rattled Evan to his core. His blood boiled, surging so violently he nearly lost control and plummeted from the sky.
"Who would've thought this damned bird could use sonic attacks? What a freak!" Evan spat, his voice rough with disbelief, then tore after the Blood Raven King.
Suddenly, a wall of Blood Ravens swarmed in front of him. Evan couldn't help but marvel—these monsters would die for their king. Unbelievable!
Explosions erupted all around, the sky thick with blood mist as raven corpses rained down, turning the forest below into a gruesome graveyard.
But none of it could even slow Evan down. Against his absolute defense, these explosions were nothing but child's play—especially with Earthshift active, his defense was monstrous, an unstoppable juggernaut.
No way to get close—the king's reaction speed was freakish, and its minions swarmed to block every path. Evan gritted his teeth, frustration burning in his chest.
Without hesitation, Evan coated the Frostbane Sword in water element and prepared his Heart Sword attack. No matter how clever the king was, this surprise strike would hit hard—maybe even end it for good.
He sent the Frostbane Sword arcing through the chaos, ignoring the lesser birds—his eyes locked on the king's back. Even if the blow wasn't fatal, the water element would freeze the bastard solid, making escape impossible. That's why he chose water over fire.
Evan fought on two fronts—his Demon-Breaking Fist smashed through ravens as his sword streaked away, each punch blasting enemies as he kept his mind fixed on the kill.
His Demon-Breaking Fist, now brimming with fire and ice, exploded with twice its former might. The Blood Raven King had no clue what Evan was really up to—his technique was evolving by the second.
Only now did Evan truly grasp what Luna meant about Fireshift and Watershift's real power—they could supercharge any martial technique, unleashing devastation. With this terrifying strength, he wiped out swathes of Blood Ravens in a single instant.
Selena and Claire fought back-to-back, their attacks unstoppable, while Goldwing kept the group moving at breakneck speed. No Blood Raven could get close.
Controlling the sword demanded every ounce of focus—even as Evan kept slaughtering the ravens ahead, his mind burned with effort.
A frigid sword-light exploded from the Frostbane Sword, spearing the king and ripping a scream from its throat that echoed across the sky.
Maybe Evan had underestimated his own power—the Frostbane Sword burst straight through the king's chest, freezing it solid. The mighty beast crashed down from the sky, an ice sculpture in death.
One strike, one kill—Evan couldn't help but grin with fierce satisfaction. He locked eyes on the second Blood Raven King, ready to repeat his deadly tactic.
Blood mist choked the air, the stench so thick it suffocated the forest. Monster beasts howled at the scent, their cries sending chills down the spines of Evan and his companions.
They had to end this fast—take out the Blood Raven King and run. That was the only thought pounding in Evan's mind. If a true monster showed up, they'd be in real trouble.
Those monsters could already take human form and soar through the air. If just one or two appeared, maybe they'd survive—but if dozens descended, not even luck could save them.
He reached the second king and, just as before, set his trap—ready to strike from the shadows, eyes blazing with determination.
The second Blood Raven King was no smarter than the first—it never saw Evan's plan coming. While he tore through the lesser ravens, the king blundered right into his trap. A flash of icy light, and it crashed from the sky, frozen solid.
Leaderless, the Blood Ravens scattered, their formation collapsing into utter confusion.
Evan dove for Goldwing, shouting, "Goldwing, move—now!" urgency written all over his face.
The Frostbane Sword carved a bloody path, and the five of them burst through the last of the ravens, finally breaking free.
No pursuit. Evan landed on Goldwing, scanning his companions—"Everyone okay?" he barked, voice clipped and tense.
"No injuries. The Blood Ravens aren't that tough, but you look like hell—you're drenched in poison. Clean up, quick!" Selena barked.
With a thought, Evan shed his earthen armor, revealing clean clothes beneath—his companions stared in shock.
Everyone was stunned, but their relief was short-lived—three figures suddenly shot skyward from the forest, cutting off any chance to relax.
Goldwing shuddered so violently he nearly tossed the whole group off his back, everyone's nerves stretched to the breaking point.
"Boss, those three are monsters in disguise—their power is off the charts. Be careful!" Goldwing warned, voice trembling.
"Goldwing's right. They're at least as strong as me and Clairey—this won't be easy. Brace yourselves," Selena said, her tone grim.
"Damn it! Our luck sucks. Let's see what these three want—if it's a fight, then we fight! Stay sharp, everyone!" Evan growled, exasperation boiling over...
