At this moment, Evan Chu and his group found themselves caught between two threats: three powerful monster beasts in human form ahead, and a horde of Blood Ravens behind. If they truly needed to escape, the rear was preferable—the Blood Ravens had lost their leaders and were now disorganized.
But Evan was confident he could take down these three monster beasts. Now that he could channel Fireshift and Watershift elemental energy directly into his martial techniques, his strength had surged again.
"Let me go see what these three beasts really want. If they'll let us leave, great. If not, I'll just have to kill them." Evan announced, then flew straight toward the trio.
He stopped about ten meters from the three beasts, studying their human forms closely. Two appeared as middle-aged men, the third as an old woman—but her eyes gleamed with a sharp, unfathomable intelligence.
Before Evan could speak, one of the middle-aged men said coldly, "Human, what are you doing in our Monster Beast Forest? Are you here to steal our secrets?"
His tone was icy, clearly itching to attack Evan on the spot—maybe because Evan’s group had managed to escape the Blood Raven flock, earning a degree of wariness.
"I got lost and ended up here by accident. Would you three seniors kindly let us pass?" Evan replied politely.
"Do you know what lies ahead? Why do you want to go forward?" The old woman spoke up—but her voice was shockingly that of a young girl, leaving Evan dumbfounded. Seriously, what the hell?
"It's my first time here, and I got lost—of course I don't know. If you seniors could enlighten me, I'd be truly grateful." Evan replied with neither arrogance nor submission, though inside his body, Chaos Dragon Force was already circulating.
"Kid, how dare you lie to our faces? Ahead is the Beast King Hall, and you claim not to know? Clearly, you don't take us seriously at all!" The other middle-aged man snapped, instantly furious.
"Beast King Hall? Never heard of it. Is that the palace of your beast king? If so, I’ll just turn back." Evan replied lightly.
"So you really came here to cause trouble! All four directions around this Monster Beast Forest are forbidden to humans, and you dare ignore the pact between our beast clan and the human race? If I don’t kill you today, you’ll think we’re afraid of you!" the beast man roared.
He shot forward like lightning, blue longsword in hand. Evan was surprised—since when did monster beasts start wielding human weapons?
But Evan wasn’t afraid. If you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant your wish. He instantly coated the Frostbane Sword in fire element and charged to meet the attack.
Their weapons collided, unleashing a massive storm of sword-qi. The explosion of energy made the surrounding space tremble, and even the giant trees below shook violently—proof of just how terrifying this power was.
Both Evan and the beast man were blasted back dozens of meters by the recoil. Evan flew even farther, confirming that the raw strength of monster beasts really was on another level compared to humans.
But in terms of attack, Evan’s fire-element sword-qi was far superior. His strike split into dozens of blazing sword rays; while most were canceled by the opponent’s sword-qi, some flames landed on the beast man, igniting him on the spot.
Evan knew exactly how deadly Flarefire was. If the beast man didn’t snuff it out immediately, he’d be burned to ash in no time.
The beast man panicked at the flames, hastily using powerful Stellar Power to shake them off. He was fast, but still ended up with part of his body scorched black.
The searing pain made him roar in true monster voice. With a flash of light, he abandoned his human disguise and reverted to his original form, staring at Evan in shock.
Evan realized the beast man's true form was a magic leopard nearly the size of Tyrian, the Skyfiend Tiger he once killed. He wondered what kind of leopard this was.
At that moment, a huge patch of fur on its chest was gone, revealing a large area of scorched flesh, still smoking and reeking of burnt meat.
'Kid, how dare you injure your leopard grandpa! I’ll swallow you alive!' the Gale Leopard roared.
'Little leopard, don’t get ahead of yourself. I don’t actually want to kill you, but if you insist on courting death, I won’t mind!' Evan replied, utterly contemptuous.
Infuriated by Evan’s words, the Gale Leopard howled at the sky and charged. Its enormous tail stretched to dozens of meters, whipping straight toward Evan.
Evan knew that if he took a full-force blow from that tail, he’d be sent flying. From their earlier clash, he’d already judged the Gale Leopard’s strength at least Sixth-Layer Divine Martial, so he dodged quickly.
Evan’s speed let him evade the attack, leaving the Gale Leopard’s strike to hit empty air. The tail’s force whipped up a massive tornado in the sky—truly terrifying.
'Careful, Linfeng! That’s a Gale Leopard—a wind-attribute monster beast. Its attack speed is insane, but its defense is weaker. Wait for the right moment and strike hard,' Selena transmitted to Evan.
Her voice entered his ear clearly; he knew this was a secret voice transmission. If she spoke aloud, the other two beasts might attack immediately.
Hearing Selena’s advice, Evan made up his mind. He decided to use the sixth form of Demon-Breaking Fist, fused with dual ice-and-fire transformations, to attack. It was complex, but for Evan, splitting his focus made it easy.
Evan hovered calmly in midair, waiting for the enraged Gale Leopard to attack, Chaos Dragon Force already surging through his fists.
As the Gale Leopard lunged at him, Evan quickly activated Earthshift; a layer of white stone instantly covered his body.
The Gale Leopard slashed at Evan with its claw, but Evan didn’t dodge—he let the blow land, and at the same moment, his sixth-form Demon-Breaking Fist struck the Gale Leopard.
With his other hand, Evan slammed the twin ice-and-fire elemental spheres into the Gale Leopard at point-blank range. Both were blasted away by the impact.
The stone armor formed by earth element was shattered by the claw strike, but Evan barely felt any pain—his defense was so monstrous, even his skin wasn’t broken.
The Gale Leopard wasn’t so lucky—its mountain-sized body had several bones broken by Evan’s punch. If that were all, it wouldn’t be serious.
Evan’s true killing move was the ice-and-fire spheres. As the Gale Leopard was sent flying, the elemental energy detonated in midair with a deafening explosion…
