Requesting Punishment from the Prince
Simon Yu stared at Sean Hayes, utterly speechless. As a doctor, he'd seen all kinds of medical troublemakers, but never anyone as brazen and shameless as Sean.
Coveting his looks? Bewitched by him? Can you at least try to have some shame!?
This whole routine is just way too outrageous!
Sean saw right through Simon's thoughts and looked utterly hopeless: "If anything happens to Mrs. Penny and the child, I won't go on living either. What good is a reputation then? Let's all go down together."
"You—You little—" Simon Yu was tempted to jab this shameless guy with a needle and be done with it, but unfortunately, their martial arts were evenly matched—he couldn't win!
And the Hayes Family Shadow Guard isn't just for show. Even the Lin Family can't simply take out the Hayes Family's shadow guards.
Simon Yu, cornered by Sean's pressure, could only sigh, defeated: "Fine, fine, you win. Did we have some grudge in our past lives or something? Go to my room and fetch my medical kit."
Before Simon even finished speaking, Sean vanished in a flash, moving like a ghost.
Simon shook his head and sat helplessly on the edge of the bed, checking Mrs. Penny's pulse.
Mrs. Penny looked up weakly at Simon Yu: "Dr. Simon, you don't need to bother. This child can't be saved..."
Simon Yu shot Peony a sidelong look. "You think I want to get involved in this mess? If something happens to you or the child, your husband will go around shouting that I've bewitched him—where will I put my face? Don't I care about my reputation?"
Peony was left speechless by Simon Yu, shaking her head helplessly. "That fool... I really don't know what's in his head..."
Simon Yu glanced at Peony. "Your man may be shameless, hot-tempered, and not too bright, but at least he cares about you and the child. He's not a total scoundrel."
Peony lowered her head. "He's actually very good to me... He doesn't know I'm pregnant—I didn't tell him, just took the medicine myself."
Simon Yu coughed. "Anyway, I don't care about your messy relationship drama. My job is just to save you and the child. Miss Peony, please cooperate—don't ruin my reputation with your own troubles!"
Just as they were speaking, Sean Hayes rushed in carrying the medical kit, flustered and out of breath. "Dr. Simon, is this the right one?"
Simon Yu nodded. "Yes, that's it. Put it on the table and get out. Don't disturb me."
Sean wiped the sweat from his forehead and quickly set the kit down. "Alright, I'll leave now. If you need anything, just call me. I'll be waiting right outside."
"Go on, go on," Simon Yu hurried Sean out, then took out his acupuncture needles from the kit, clicking his tongue. "Good thing we caught it early—there's still hope. You two are lucky to have met me; if it were any other doctor, nobody would be able to save this child..."
Meanwhile, in Prince Alexander's courtyard, Su Li finished preparing the meal and waited for Simon Yu. After asking around, she found out he was off with Sean Hayes, doing who knows what.
The Lin Family doctor waved her hand. "That kid Simon is always off causing trouble somewhere. No need to wait for them, let's eat—don't let Xiao Wan go hungry. Xiao Wan likes this dish, come on, eat up!"
The meal was lively and joyful. Su Li's culinary skills delighted the Lin Family father and son, and Prince Alexander and the Lin Family doctor enjoyed their conversation—everyone was in good spirits.
Meanwhile, Sean Hayes knelt in front of Prince Alexander Hayes, his head bowed low: "Your Highness, please punish me. I failed to protect Mrs. Penny and the child."
Prince Alexander Hayes looked at him, silent for a long moment, then said, "Get up. If you want to be punished, wait until Mrs. Penny is safe."
