Eric Jiang and Molly Yun

1/4/2026

This wedding could truly be called the wedding of the century.

Just how luxurious was it? Outsiders couldn’t even begin to describe it.

The security at the venue was on par with the White House in America.

Everyone who left the wedding kept their lips sealed, refusing to talk about what went on inside.

Reporters waiting outside were left hanging, desperate for any scoop—some even shivered in the cold!

After the ceremony, it was time for the banquet.

Instead of booking a fancy hotel like most people do, the Yin Family held the banquet right at their mansion.

A red carpet covered the ground, and elegant sandalwood tables were arranged in neat rows.

The banquet was a full-on Manchu Han feast, served in a continuous stream.

What if some guests couldn’t handle Chinese food?

No problem!

There was a full buffet set up in another courtyard.

Whether you came from Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, or even the Arctic or Antarctic, there was something for everyone!

Cecilia Gu changed into a bright red gown and walked arm-in-arm with Charles Yin to toast the guests.

Since three couples were getting married together today, and most of the guests knew each other, there was no need to separate tables. Everyone was seated according to their status and family ties.

So, as soon as one set of newlyweds finished toasting, the next couple came over.

Honestly, it made things a lot easier.

Attending three weddings at once meant no running back and forth.

So, all the important people who could make it were there.

And those who really couldn’t come? They were truly bedridden!

Cecilia Gu walked over with a bright smile, raising her glass to Eric Jiang. "Cousin, you have to finish this one. Over the years, I've gotten plenty of beautiful flowers from you."

Eric Jiang lifted his glass and downed it in one go, his gesture both bold and charming.

Cecilia noticed a girl beside her staring at her face, so she greeted her with a warm smile. "Hello, welcome to our home."

Molly Yun's eyes trembled slightly, then quickly regained their calm. "Cecilia, I wish you happiness."

Cecilia was taken aback. "You know me?"

Molly Yun quickly looked away.

Eric Jiang chuckled, "Wasn't it you who sent me the invitation and asked me to bring Miss Molly Yun as a guest?"

Cecilia was genuinely surprised. "So you're Molly Yun? I apologize for not recognizing you."

Molly Yun gently shook her head. "It's nothing. Seeing you happy puts my mind at ease."

Cecilia felt even more puzzled.

Why did someone she was meeting for the first time speak as if they'd known each other for years?

Unable to hold back, Cecilia asked, "Are you sure we don't know each other?"

Molly Yun forced a smile. "Madam, you really know how to joke. I'm just a distant branch of the Yun Family—how could I possibly know the second young lady of the Yun Family?"

The feeling in Cecilia's heart grew stranger.

But today wasn't the right time for a deep conversation, so she just smiled and nodded. "Please enjoy yourself. If you need anything, don't hesitate to let our staff know."

Charles Yin and Eric Jiang simply clinked glasses and drank, without saying a word.

No need for words among family!

Downing a glass of dog food!

As Cecilia left the table, she couldn't help but glance back at Molly Yun.

Just as expected, Molly Yun was watching her with a look of concern.

Cecilia Gu grew more and more uneasy inside. She couldn't help but say to Charles Yin, "Charles, I keep feeling like Molly Yun is really familiar, strangely familiar, but I just can't remember where I've seen her before. And look at her—her eyes, the way she looks at me, it's really weird."

Charles Yin nodded. "Yeah, honestly, if I didn’t know you were my wife, I’d think she was staring at some drop-dead gorgeous guy!"

Cecilia giggled and playfully scolded him, "Stop talking nonsense. Never mind, I'll ask her about it another day."

After Cecilia and Charles walked away, Eric Jiang turned to Molly Yun and said, "You’re really not good at lying! Your face says something completely different than your words."

Molly Yun reached up to touch her face and said, "I know."

Eric Jiang chuckled softly. "So, even if I don’t ask if you know her, can I ask why you care so much about her? Don’t bother denying it—your eyes give away your pain and affection. You can’t hide that."

Molly’s eyes instantly reddened. She lowered her head and turned away, not letting Eric see her face, and answered quietly, "I... I just think she’s had it really tough. She’s never really had a happy life since she was little. Then she grew up and went through so many ups and downs. She finally graduated college, and then that happened. So many things—too many to count. I just feel sorry for her, that’s all."

"But Miss Yun, there are a lot of unfortunate people in the world. Cecilia is just one of them. There are plenty of people worse off than her. Why do you only feel sorry for her?" Eric pressed.

Molly was instantly lost for words.

She couldn’t answer that question.

She just couldn’t.

How could she answer something like that?

How do you even explain it?

Who would ever believe her?

It was just too unbelievable.

Better not say anything!

Molly forced a smile. "Because I think she's the pride of our Yun family, and she's so gentle and kind, so I really like her. Is that not allowed?"

"Alright, that explanation works. I don’t think I can argue with that." Eric laughed.

Molly gave a bitter smile and looked away again.

Just then, a kid from another yard suddenly ran over, stumbled, and looked like he was about to fall right into Cecilia.

And right behind Cecilia was the artificial lake.

At this time of year, if someone fell in...

Molly’s mind went blank, but her body moved before she could think. She tossed her chopsticks aside and dashed straight at Cecilia.

It all happened in a split second.

Just as the child crashed into Cecilia, Molly managed to grab her!

The kid was small but hit with surprising force, sending both Cecilia and Molly stumbling hard.

Molly’s body slammed into a stone pillar by the lake, making her grunt in pain. Cecilia was unharmed.

But the next second, ignoring her own pain, Molly asked with concern, "Cecilia, are you okay?"

At that moment, the child’s parent rushed in looking panicked, scooped up the kid, and nearly knelt to Cecilia. "Young Madam Yin, our kid is just mischievous, he didn’t mean it..."

Cecilia waved her hand. "I’m fine. This young lady here saved us! I’m a mom too, I know kids can be naughty. But in a place like this, please keep an eye on them."

"Yes, yes, of course." The parent nodded and bowed, gratefully carrying the child away.

Cecilia immediately turned to Molly.

Cecilia was honestly surprised.

Why would Molly rush over like that to save her?

Why?

She was hurt, but still cared if Cecilia was okay?

Why was she being so good to her?

There was no reason, was there?

"Thank you for earlier," Cecilia said, helping Molly. "Do you want to get your injury checked out?"

Charles strode over. "What happened? I was gone for just a minute and something already happened?"

Cecilia shook her head. "Forget it, don’t hold it against the kid. All kids get into trouble sometimes. But she—Molly—got hurt saving me! You go take care of the guests, I’ll take her to get checked out."

Hearing that Molly had saved Cecilia, Charles’ gaze softened.

"Alright, you two go ahead. We’ve got things covered here." Charles immediately called out, "Someone, take Young Madam and Miss Yun to the lounge."

Molly was about to refuse.

But looking at Cecilia’s face, she decided to go along with it.

She really wanted to hug Cecilia...

But she couldn’t.

Eric Jiang came over too. "Let me help you."

Cecilia nodded and let Eric help Molly.

She was pregnant now, so she really wasn’t suited to help Molly herself.

And Molly clearly didn’t want just anyone to help her, but she didn’t mind Eric being close.

The three of them slowly made their way to the lounge.

A doctor quickly came over to check Molly’s injury, confirmed she was fine, left her some ointment, and then left.

Cecilia said to Molly, "Thank you so much for today. There’s no one else here—can we talk for a bit?"

Molly quietly nodded.

Eric was curious and stood nearby to listen in.

"Do we really not know each other?" Cecilia asked. "But the way you look at me, it’s like you’ve known me forever."

Molly opened her mouth, her eyes brightening for a moment before dimming again, the sadness quickly hidden away. "I know you, but you don’t know me."

Cecilia thought for a moment—maybe she knew Molly from online?

Yeah, her popularity on Weibo was pretty high lately.

That explanation kind of made sense.

Molly went on, "Don’t worry, I don’t mean you any harm. I don’t want anything from you."

Cecilia smiled, nodding gently. "I believe you."

A person’s eyes can reveal a lot.

The care in Molly’s eyes was impossible to fake.

It was real concern, not just an act.

"I just want you to be a little happier, a little more blessed," Molly said. "That’s all."

Eric couldn’t help but tease, "If I didn’t know Cecilia was straight, I’d think you two were confessing your feelings right now."

Cecilia and Molly both laughed.

Molly blurted out, "Who says women can’t care about each other? I just see her as my little sister. Isn’t it only natural for an older sister to worry about her? That’s what sisters do—right from the moment they’re born, it’s their job to protect their younger siblings."

Cecilia and Eric’s expressions changed slightly.

Why did that sound so familiar?

It felt like... someone had said that to her before!
