"I'm asking, how does it feel to read along with Me?"
Everyone stayed silent.
Only Adrian Drake spoke up honestly: "Well... it feels a little childish."
"Childish, huh! I think so too!" His Majesty the Celestial Emperor agreed wholeheartedly. "You're all grown now, so I definitely can't teach you hand-in-hand like your tutors did when you were kids, right? Even if I wanted to, you probably wouldn't want to listen."
"So, from now on in class, you'll read by yourselves, memorize by yourselves, learn by yourselves! Whether you skim or cram or study deeply, as long as you pass the exams, that's good enough, right?"
Everyone exchanged glances.
"Mm, silence means agreement!" His Majesty the Celestial Emperor slouched in the corner. "You may begin studying! If you have any questions, ask Little Five!"
His Majesty the Celestial Emperor pointed at Sean Shaw: "I've already taught Little Five all these books! He knows them all!"
Sean Shaw's face grew dark.
"Come, come, Little Five, sit here." His Majesty the Celestial Emperor dragged Sean Shaw to the front behind the lectern. "If you don't understand something, ask him. If he doesn't understand, you can ask Me! That's it! I didn't sleep well last night preparing your lesson plans, so I'm going to take a nap first!"
He went to sit in the corner and closed his eyes to nap.
Sean Shaw, his face dark, knelt before everyone, opened a scroll, and stared at it blankly.
He looked tall and straight, strikingly handsome, and with his exquisite royal attire, he seemed even more cold and noble.
The girls weren't reading at all; they just stared at him.
They whispered among themselves, full of awe.
Henry Xiao looked very sour, but with His Majesty the Celestial Emperor present, he didn't dare lash out—he just flipped his book noisily.
Just then, someone walked in at the door.
It was Princess Quinn Xiao.
"Oh? What are you doing here?" His Majesty the Celestial Emperor wasn't asleep yet and asked her.
"Father Emperor, I want to join the Divine Guard Barracks too!" Princess Quinn Xiao said.
"The registration period is long over," the Celestial Emperor frowned. "And there's nowhere for you to stay!"
They had allocated the Divine General's quarters according to the number of trainees.
Since Princess Quinn Xiao didn't sign up in advance, she didn't have a place to stay.
"Mother Empress already agreed! She said she'll speak to you herself." Princess Quinn Xiao raised her brows.
The Celestial Emperor heard 'herself' and instantly wilted, waving his hand: "Fine, fine! Just find yourself a seat!"
Princess Quinn Xiao smiled slightly and looked around the classroom, noticing only two empty seats left.
One was next to Adrian Drake in the front row.
The other was in the very back row.
She headed straight for the seat beside Adrian Drake.
"This seat is taken!" Adrian Drake said. "It's reserved for the Fifth Highness."
Princess Quinn Xiao glanced at Sean Shaw, but with His Majesty the Celestial Emperor present, she didn't dare lose her temper. She walked to the back and sat in the only empty seat in the last row.
Unexpectedly, after class, she ordered the dark-faced boy, "You! Get up!"
The dark-faced boy stood up, looking nervous and lost.
She called to the front, "Cousin! Come here."
Darren Xuan stood up and walked over to her. "Princess, do you need something?"
"You two switch seats," Princess Quinn Xiao said in a coquettish tone. "Let's sit together!"
Darren Xuan sat in the second row on the right, separated from Lucia Lu by only an aisle.
He looked awkwardly at the dark-faced boy and said, "Isn't this a bit unfair?"
"What's unfair about it?" She glared at the dark-faced boy with her almond-shaped eyes. "Hey! Are you switching or not?"
