Who Is That Saint Maiden
"Switch, switch!" The black-faced boy hurriedly gathered his things and swapped seats with Darren Xuan.
But as soon as he tried to sit in the front row, Jenna Summers, who had been in the same row as Darren, said, "I don't want to sit with you! You're as dark as charcoal! And you have this creepy, ghostly vibe! If I sit next to you, I'll have nightmares tonight!"
The black-faced boy looked at the other seats and said, "But there's nowhere else to sit except here."
"Then go back to where you were!"
"But..." He had no choice but to go back, turning to Princess Quinn Xiao: "Jenna Summers won't let me sit there, Princess..."
Quinn Xiao was busy flirting with Darren Xuan, and when she heard him, she replied impatiently, "Just find another seat!"
"Another seat..." He glanced at the others, looking conflicted.
No one paid him any attention.
But Lucia Lu noticed his awkwardness and called out, "Hey! Ian Yan!"
The black-faced boy looked over at her, his face turning visibly red as he stared at her in a daze.
"Come sit with us," Lucia Lu said.
Luna Lian had no objection and nodded for him to come over.
The black-faced boy made his way from the back row toward them.
Jenna Summers glanced at Lucia Lu, her expression a little odd.
But she said nothing, just turned her back and buried herself in her war strategy book.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Adrian Drake suddenly stood up. "Ian Yan, come sit with me! Let's swap!"
Ian Yan: "Huh?"
"Come on!" Adrian Drake dragged him over to his seat, then cheerfully plopped down beside Jenna Summers.
He started chatting away.
Luna Lian glanced at him, her eyes dimming slightly.
Lucia Lu glanced over at Adrian Drake, feeling a headache coming on.
It really seemed like he was head over heels for Jenna Summers.
...
After class, on their way back, Ian Yan happened to be walking just ahead of them.
Lucia Lu tapped his shoulder and called out, "Hey, Ian Yan."
Ian Yan stiffened all over and turned around, unable to meet her eyes.
"Are you an underworld cultivator?" Lucia Lu asked.
Ian Yan nodded.
She grinned and quietly asked, "Tell me, do you know that son the Celestial Emperor mentioned—the one who got, uh, messed with by some goddess?"
Ian Yan paused for a moment and said, "That's me."
Lucia Lu: "Ah..."
Luna Lian covered her mouth and said, "The Celestial Emperor is so out of line! He actually said that in front of you!"
"No, no, really, it's nothing!" Ian Yan waved his hands anxiously. "The Celestial Emperor was just joking. I'm a guy, so it's fine! It's just that the yin core I'd cultivated for years is gone, so I can't ascend anymore, and my father is really worried... But honestly, I'm okay, really."
Lucia Lu: "Oh..."
Ryan Lu had somehow wandered over and asked with a gossipy grin, "Hey! Ian Yan, who was that goddess anyway?"
"Yeah, who was it?" Lucia Lu echoed. "Why would she..."
Ian Yan's expression changed when he heard Lucia's question; he stared straight at her.
Lucia Lu: "Uh? Why are you looking at me like that?"
It's not like I did it.
Ian Yan quickly looked away. "N-no, it's nothing."
Then he hurried off by himself, his steps a little unsteady.
Lucia Lu was baffled: "He's so weird."
"He blushes every time he sees you," Luna Lian said with a laugh. "Maybe he's got a secret crush on you."
Lucia Lu reached out to scratch her: "Stop making stuff up!"
Luna Lian darted away.
The three siblings lived close together, so they all walked home on the same path.
